  1. Past hour
  2. Actually stood and applauded Hedges. He was hunting down, applying pressure made some well timed tackles and kept the ball. So fair play to him and I've ripped him in the past.
  3. one of the other coaches is responsible for set pieces, that what their job is and making sure everyone knows where they should be. You mention this throw under the bus, so who did he throw under the bus and who else has thrown the bus? Travis you mean?
  4. Fair summary, except I presume you mean McLaughlin. Wharton only came on at the end.
  5. No that we can’t control-that’s a fixture list issue what we (our club) can control is how we set up ourselves in the summer training transfers operations structure and plan for the club coaching attract players with quality and desire galvanise that desire etc
  6. With our lack of wide options, Cantwell's desire to play deeper and Ohashi's inability to be lead the line - would we not be better suited to a 4 3 1 2? Now bear with me because it's a wild analogy and I acknowledge the huge gap in quality, but the Milan style 4 3 1 2 from 2007ish. Toth Alebiosu Hyam McLoughlin Ribiero Tavares Tronstad Cantwell [Insert option] Kargbo Ohashi A Dackesque option in the hole would round it off. Or alternatively would Cantwell be allowed less defensive role if we got a proper midfield alongside Tavares and Tronstad
  7. Should of had that on the led sign outside
  8. James Brown And The Famous Flames - Try Me
  9. That’s why you need to avoid newly promoted teams first up.
  10. You look at how Birmingham had the nerve to keep playing with desire and never give up even until 90+8 and this is a squad that has just been promoted and you see our collective of players who are not a team and have no leadership and you understand that it’s not the players fault but the lack of direction of the club over all it’s a sad state for us
  11. Some more thoughts First half we were compact and defensive solid. Kept their front four quiet and in fact we didn't all game. What did the big money striker Kyogo do all game? nothing. We allowed their centre back the ball and tried to win it back when they forced to bring the ball forward. A couple of times, we could have used much better when we would it back. But overall happy with the first half and not conceded an early goal was a massive bonus. Second half, we started well and took a well deserved load. Great strike by Cantwell. He put a shift in and captain performance. Right decision to give him the captain armband. After that we were solid and defending very well. Their front 4 still weren't having an impact and quiet. Birmingham were creating nothing. Karbgo had a great header chance but drifted just well. Ohashi couldn't get his shot off. I've now seen the penalty foul, think Laird is looking for it but there is contact from Miller. Even after that it was us attacking them and looking for winner which Gueye almost did. Good save by their keeper. For that final corner, we should have not throw everyone in the box like we did and it was poor corner but if you had 2 players on the edge of the box and 1 back, we don't lose that game, I would have taken a point at that stage.. Someone told Taveras to take the corner, I don't know who. Alebiosu had a very good game and him going off, we missed him after. Also Hyam and Wharton had a good game. Toth barely owt to do. Hedges had a more than decent game. Cantwell was good and Karbgo shown what he is about from the right side. Does anyone know what was thrown at Stansfield at full time?
  12. Maybe the set piece coach had a play on that required a really crowded box. Where it fell down was the delivery of the ball. You can’t give people responsibility some of the time and take it away at other times on the spur of the moment. That’s how you undermines people. No doubt the set piece coach has had his card marked now.
  13. Just watched the goals back on ITV. I remember at the time thinking how it was a really shit corner, but it takes an absolute age for the ball to end up in the back of the net at the other end. The defending against their counter attack is even worse than the corner. Comically bad. Someone needed to commit a professional foul and take the booking, then we almost certainly get a point from a below average performance and we aren't all as angry as we are now.
  14. Ismael is the one with the final say on tactics. Also not a good luck to just pass the buck. Ismael has in the space of 7 or 8 games gone from you wanting him out to him not being allowed to be questioned.
  15. Interestingly the 2017 squad had a lot of attacking talent but little to no defensive ability especially after the sale of our two centre backs. This time it seems the reverse very limited attacking talent with a solid defense (including defensive mids.) That said once we've continues to ship off any assets even that ok defence might be in question as well. Both have hallmarks of a ton of players being shipped in and out and a manager of questionable aability. Both seem to have gaping holes in certain areas of the squad. Sheff Weds realistically means that there will only be two places left to avoid and I think there's enough other teams that will struggle. So its not nailed on but my word we will be in the mix.
  16. 1 trophy in 150 years 1 trophy per million residents Massive club.
  17. This was a really interesting moment actually, someone else was lined up for the corner (Ribeiro possibly?) and VI made a big deal about swapping them over but I thought at the time he looked really reluctant about it. His comments post game reinforce that feeling as his unhappiness about set pieces are surely crystallised by that corner. Do we think Ben Benson is still in charge of set pieces?
  18. Dont go on Youtube either....they are bigger than God.
  19. At least we’ve kept the “ losing to newly promoted teams record “ going.
  20. We have broke a lot of Club records under the Pune Loons for all the wrong reasons....you just know its happening!
  21. Precisely, the big clue is you're nowhere near your own goal!
  22. Is Val incapable of telling one more of his players to stay back?
  23. Throw under the bus? who has he throw under the bus? one of the coaching staff is responsible for set pieces yet we have no-one back for that corner? who fault is that?
  24. Obviously nearly twice as good as Adam Wharton then.
