I bow to your fantastic memory and experience, but I can't say this is the weakest I've seen in my lifetime let alone yours. I don't really recall lineups, but I've had worse feelings before games (admittedly maybe I've become apathetic could be why I don't feel as much worry today). I do remember we fielded a pretty young team against Harrogate, and absolutely battered them. I think an even younger Tom Atcheson played that day. The lads seem to be handling themselves well enough so far. I think part of the problem people are having is that a bunch of them are unknown quantities. But that's what the early rounds of the cup are for these days, especially with an injury hit squad.

It seemed the Palace manage was seeking to cup tie any player that is attracting interest - keen to keep his best players until the end of the season (when he is also expecting to leave).

Apologies if this has already been suggested: Perhaps a match should be chosen where those who no longer go to Ewood return ‘en masse’ to carry out such a protest. The impact could be two fold - an obvious spike in crowd numbers and the protest ‘moment’ itself (both of which the coalition would publicise). After all if those who don’t wish to boycott are being told it’s just one match (to miss) isn’t the reverse, it’s just one match (to attend) true as well?
