  1. Past hour
  2. Need a striker too. Moreso than a central midfielder IMO but I would like both. Hopefully its not just loans from here on in. Maybe one or two at a push. Definitely should buy a new right winger.
  3. The girl that scored should have on 15 minutes sooner,
  4. Came back to haunt them though 🙃
  5. One thing I'll say for Tyjon - he's more decisive with the ball. Cantwell loves a fancy flick and trick, often to his detriment. Tyjon gets it under control and drives towards goal.
  6. By saying they’re a ‘Strokes tribute band’, just proves how little of their music you’ve heard or actively listened to. Don’t just give into nostalgia and sentiment. I thought you were better than ‘it’s better because it was my era’. They’re absolutely nothing like Kneecap, only similarity is that they come from the Island of Ireland. Think on.
  7. No, you quoted the bit that allowed you to invent a scenario where the intensity of the player search had reduced. The reality is they are ‘working hard behind the scenes’ and ‘want more players’, but you didn’t quote that. There will be plenty of negative stuff to get your teeth into as the season progresses, you don’t need to invent any!😉
  8. Surely it's the opposite - there's no more hiding from the problem in structured training sessions. We have a glaring need at RW, CM (there's not enough depth) and CB. Tyjon is a nice surprise, but you'd like another in that 3 behind the CF for the inevitable Cantwell injury. They'll probably fill those positions with loans at this stage - it's what they usually do.
  9. I find that crazy considering you are basing it on a couple of friendlies in which Cantwell played twice as long in and stood out, but there you go. But the Mcloughlin one. Had you said underwhelming or something similar, it might not have been as shocking. But to say terrible, I was hoping for a bit more reasoning just for the sake of discussion.
  10. So the Brittain was set to join Derby was fake news as Ismael said post game. Good. Stop drinking the beer lad cos you are talking utter bullshit, I have always said Shearer was my favourite ever Rovers player and always was. He was my hero when I was growing up. Others favourite players but just behind Shearer are Mark Atkins, Tugay, Matt Jansen, Brad Freidel, Ryan Nelsen, Roque Santa Cruz and Craig Conway. Cantwell was the best player on the pitch against Everton
  11. Beauty of opinions eh. I just have been more impressed by Tyjon than I have Cantwell when I compare like for like in a Rovers shirt.
  12. It’s incredible how much more frequently cramp occurs when your team is winning.
  13. No I didn't, I just said that I hope that urgency hasnt reduced. What you are suggesting wouldnt even be "negative" from me but youve made a massive deal out of it. Havent been negative about any of our signings, suggested a few of our players could have better seasons for various reasons, but suppose its a hard tag to shake though especially when one or two like yourself seem intent on policing it.
  14. I think its a crazy thing to say even from the 2 friendlies. Cantwell started them both and was arguably our best player in both. He didnt have a very good first season overall but he had 2 spells (right near the end and one before Christmas) where he did well. In competitive games. He has obviously done more in a Rovers shirt than Tyjon who has barely worn one at senior level. Im not on about today with McLoughlin. He had that one mix up together with Ribeiro but otherwise he was fine. But you said he was a terrible signing when he hadnt been confirmed. I asked why you think that but for whatever reason you ignored it. Terrible is a strong word so I wanted some clarity on why you felt so strongly.
  15. He should give Parker a crack at the title. He's already beaten all the others. I hope he doesn't fight that fat oaf again, what a waste that would be.
  16. Because you manage the put a negative slant on most things. You missed out the important bits of the quote and then made up a scenario that implied we weren’t really looking as hard anymore. Weird.
  17. Nacho Sancho https://www.linkedin.com/in/nacho-sancho?utm_source=share&utm_campaign=share_via&utm_content=profile&utm_medium=android_app Look like Karl Hodges has moved on. Derby maybe?
  18. Why does it have to come down to positives and negatives every time? The main point is that we are not close to signing anyone.
  19. Not seen the game today but a bit of negativity towards McCloughlin already. The guy has not long signed, still getting used to his new team and manager. Give him a chance!!
  20. No, I rated him and think he will become good player for us. Can get box to box
  21. On the transfer front, he added: "There is nothing close at the minute but we are working hard behind the scenes. We want more players and we will get them when we can." you missed out some important bits of the quote. You know, the positive bits. Reads slightly differently when you include it all!
  22. Really good goals today. Yuki looks good, Cantwell look much better fitness wise after a full pre season. Onwards to Friday game now
  23. Lordy Lordy you couldn’t make this stuff up, a Strokes tribute band and I’m being kind, but marginally better than those other Irish rockers Kneecap 😩 Give over man.
  24. What's Cantwell done in a season that makes you think he's any good? Based on his past he's fantastic pre Rovers. In a Rovers shirt I've not seen anything to tell me he's a championship level player, probably even league 1. In 2 friendlies I'd prefer Tyjon over Cantwell. Mcloughlin looked poor today. Wharton miles ahead of him.
  25. Again, not too much can be concluded from a friendly especially against such poor opposition but its certainly a useful exercise and confidence to win so convincingly. It does look clear what the likely team will be going into the new season. De Neve feels like someone Ismael trusts/will trust more than Kargbo, athletic without being really quick, works really hard, you can tell hes played a lot at left back, perhaps not the most decisive in attacking positions. Kargbo is the opposite, a bit wild, looks like someone who will frustrate at times but certainly has the ability to make things happen. Cantwell looks like he will really benefit from a pre season. I still stand by my comments about bringing in someone to help not to overburden Tyjon (and also that we need some security with a new deal) but hes certainly got a swagger and something about him so exciting to see a bit more from him. We certainly need a right winger (LMM seemingly has been quickly accelerated through to make up the numbers, hopefully his time will come in years to come) and a more direct alternative to Ohashi who should benefit having settled and having been rested up somewhat, he is a composed, natural finisher in front of goal. I have always said he is better leading the line that playing off, presses well and gets in behind even though hes not quick. No surprise we won so much more with him up top compared to Gueye as he suits the other players more and is more intelligent.
  26. Feel like we're getting to the waiting to see which prem loans are available stage
