  1. Past hour
  2. Could we see the picture please. The players are coming home today so wouldnt make much sense. Boro might come into some money soon though with Hackney and Van Den Berg strongly linked away.
  3. Positive the Samir transfer netted us a few hundred k
  4. Seen a picture in another group of what looks like Brittain heading home early from Spain. Rumours of Rudy left similar time as well. Is he on the move or is he extending his contract. I know some players travel back separately after games but after a tour I’m not so sure
  5. Wherever that is due, it will be at most Β£100K up front, the vast majority will be future fees, add ons, sell ons etc
  6. Not sure if it’s been payed up yet but could add Finneran compo and Talalovic sell on clause to funds brought in
  7. An amazing episode of television as well
  8. Seems odd we can get a decentish fee for a 12 year old kid but only minimal compensation for a 17 year old who's been through the Academy.
  9. How can he be "clearly better" than he showed last season? He's probably exactly as good as he showed last season. I.e. not very.
  10. who`s been sold to chelsea, please enlighten me
  11. He's left so it's no biggie now of course.
  12. But equally, you dont want to be too reliant on them to the point where a couple of injuries in certain positions and they are all needed together. We dont know how ready they are in terms of a footballing perspective of being able to play Championship football but moreso how they could cope physically if needed to play consecutive games. Also, if we bank on more than a couple coming through at once, its unrealistic. They wont all be ready at the same time.
  13. Call me old fashioned but being/becoming the better player should be the only β€˜pathway’ there is.
  14. Yes, I think you are right. Even at 17 or 18, these lads already know what they are about, and want to play football at the highest level possible. A sensible approach is to use them tactically, later on in games where we either need to change things up or are so far in front that to do so poses no threat to the result. I'm sure VI has an eye for a player, and will use his influence to ensure the young bloods are available at the appropriate time and in a way that benefits, not hinders, his plans.
  15. No-one has ever "perfected that shot"! Its too risky for a 5-day game unless you're miles ahead which we are.
  16. To repeat what I wrote a couple of years ago. I would rather that we didn’t make many more signings which can block our talents from playing time. we need some additions, but fill up the squad with loanees such as Morton, ACD and Hirst instead of playing our own players is in my opinion the wrong decision. especially when it comes to young Tyjon I think it is instrumental that we show him a pathway to a lot of gametime. This will be important for him to sign a new contract
  17. You've said this before but the MB is open for all to comment on any post. I've made a single mild comment essentially hoping you won't continue to drag it down as you have been.
  18. Aye, can’t see them reaching 311, with that start. Even if they do, will be a very quick run chase, I’d have thought πŸ˜….
  19. Has the kid gone to Chelsea though? I heard all the strong rumours, and then suddenly it went silent. If he has fair enough but last I heard it wasn't sealed. Dolan, there is disagreement on whether we do get anything for that, Wilsden showed the FIFA ruling that suggests we won't get anything. Edit - just looked up the wonderkid to Chelsea, the Sun did an article on 30th June saying it was done, and the fee was 700k not 1 mill. But they also said it hadn't been formally announced (and that academy signings rarely are). Still not sure how we got that fee for him, with the previous record being 175k and as far as I knew you don't have to pay those fees for 13 year olds you can just take them with minor training compo.
  20. Today
  21. He’s not. We were discussing this the other day and I said Tyjon reminded me of Paul Gallagher. A neat and tidy footballer with a good eye for goal and excellent football intelligence let down by his lack of real pace,
  22. I think we’ve broken India 😁
  23. Although with Gueye it really depends how long he spends in form. He has shown that when in form he can be a menace for defences and score goals. He just wasn't in form enough last season. If he can sustain it, and part of that is motivation from the coaches and himself, you can't rule it out. It isn't something I would necessarily bank on though. But I'm hoping if he plays enough he will manage double figures this season.
  24. I would expect the FF would generate the minutes, approve them amongst themselves and then forward to the club. I may be wrong, but reading between the lines that appears to be not the way it operates.
