1864roverite Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Bolton will only have Davies and Stelios as front line strikers as everyone else is either banned, sold or injured ! Looks very much like Arry has got the job as he is conspicuous by his early exit from the pompy training ground. I cannot ever think that he has suddenly got camera shy as he always has a word to say in the media.

1864roverite Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Interesting phone call just received. It is being said in scouseland that Rovers have asked about Harry Kewell from Liverpool ! I sincerely hope this aint true !
thenodrog Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Mischievous this but does amybody suppose that Hughes has been informed that the job is already taken and so is simply playing the wordgame out to his own advantage?

I sincerely hope this aint true ! Would have said the same a few months back, but Harry has been a different player the last few months and I'd have him over MGP now, he could also maybe do a job in the centre or even allow Bents to move in there is desperate. I'd say Rafa may well flog him cheap in the current climate too Wonder if Nicko knows anything!
Mozzer Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Interesting phone call just received. It is being said in scouseland that Rovers have asked about Harry Kewell from Liverpool ! I sincerely hope this aint true ! i would..decent player..can give pedersen the competition he needs.. he is free to talk to anybody because his contract is up in the summer..
fozzer Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Interesting phone call just received. It is being said in scouseland that Rovers have asked about Harry Kewell from Liverpool ! I sincerely hope this aint true ! I would welcome it!! Think he is a good player!! Good technique good passing range! Cons: Injury prone! Would offer a bit of Compition for Peds ... Would like to see him central actually too just a thought !
herbergeehh Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Kewell would be a good signing for us, competition for Pedersen and can play upfront aswell. Kewell and a central midfielder would do the trick till the summer.

Unless the Beeb come calling Unsure about Kewell, but I guess he can't do a worse job than Gamst has for the past season and a half.
modes98 Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Interesting phone call just received. It is being said in scouseland that Rovers have asked about Harry Kewell from Liverpool ! I sincerely hope this aint true ! Kewell has been quality for liverpool in the past few months and only been dropped due to rotation. He certainly has more to offer than the current off form/young players we have.
robborover Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Can't imagine that we'd sign Kewell and keep MGP though. 2 left wingers on fairly high wages...
philipl Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Can't imagine that we'd sign Kewell and keep MGP though. 2 left wingers on fairly high wages... So am I the only one who has noticed MGP playing right and Bentley going left quite a bit recently? I too have been very impressed by Kewell's recent cameo appearances for Liverpool. Incidentally that was close to being the Duff of old for Newcastle at Stoke last Sunday, albeit running the right wing.
Mozzer Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 we need that strength in depth.. kewell would be a great signing...
alexanders Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Can't imagine that we'd sign Kewell and keep MGP though. 2 left wingers on fairly high wages... Hasn't the scousers shown interest in MGP earlier? Maybe we can do a swap!
robborover Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 So am I the only one who has noticed MGP playing right and Bentley going left quite a bit recently? Isn't Bentley down to his roaming role now though? It would be interesting if it happened, say Kewell cost less than £2 million, then it could be a good deal. Just read this- Redknapp was due to talk to the media on Friday afternoon. But after turning up to the club's Eastleigh training ground, he departed with chief executive Peter Storrie without speaking to the press. Looks like it's only a matter of time.
vintageadidas Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Great News that Anelka has gone to Chelsea. He wont play aginst us on Sunday and if he is worth £15m then Roque is also worth around that region - great business again Sparky. I am just waiting on news about Valeri Domahifhirhugfihberybgfcweybyefbue as he gets his Yes or No today. Bolton have alot of money to spend now, but they will struggle to attract players.
thenodrog Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Bolton have alot of money to spend now, but they will struggle to attract players. Thats contradictory. We all know that footballers will go anywhere for money.
vintageadidas Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 okay then smart ass, i should have put decent players. Will Ronaldo, Henry, Messi join the mighty Wanderers?
EwoodGlory Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Nice big back page article in the Mirror today Nicko. On Kewell, I would be happy with a loan move with a view to a permanent move if he can prove his fitness. Cracking player when on form. Be surprised if its true though, wages must be very high.
thenodrog Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 okay then smart ass, i should have put decent players. Will Ronaldo, Henry, Messi join the mighty Wanderers? Class them as 'decent'? Theyr'e all effin brilliant and truly world class. BUT if Abromovich sold Chelsea and took over at the Reebok (or similar) then yes of course they would.
joey_big_nose Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Can't imagine that we'd sign Kewell and keep MGP though. 2 left wingers on fairly high wages... I think we would take Kewell and use him mostly upfront- use his pace to get behind defences. Liverpool do have too many players, including 4 left wingers, but Benitez is a hoarder- Im not sure he would let Kewell go.
1864roverite Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 but then again smartass would any of thos eplayers be available for 15m ? Think your looking at 150m for Messi and somewhere in the region of 76m for ronaldo !
thenodrog Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 but then again smartass would any of thos eplayers be available for 15m ? Think your looking at 150m for Messi and somewhere in the region of 76m for ronaldo ! Of course not. We were simply debating the 'principle' of being a wealthy club. Why am I the only smart one around here?
Clog Blue Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Of course not. We were simply debating the 'principle' of being a wealthy club. Why am I the only smart one around here? Don't worry, your not.
CircoWill Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Class them as 'decent'? Theyr'e all effin brilliant and truly world class. BUT if Abromovich sold Chelsea and took over at the Reebok (or similar) then yes of course they would. You say that but QPR are hardly signing the best players in their division and their owners/investors are the wealthiest of any in the country.
