10 goals from him, 15 from Benni, 5 each from roberts, derbs, bentley and MGP, and a smattering of goals from Gally,Sav, Dunn, Reidy, Tugay and the defence would suit me quite nicely, that makes us a ~ 50 goal team, which makes us a top 6 contender once again.

Derbyshire should get way more than 5 goals this season and hopefully Roberts will beat that total as well. Conversely McCarthy might be doing well to get near last season's tally and Santa Cruz has never been prolific in the past according to his stats.

The gist of what you say is quite right though, if McCarthy, Roberts, Derbyshire, Santa Cruz, Rigters, Bentley and MGP all set themselves a minimum target of ten league goals and got somewhere near it, we'd probably have a very good season.

i dont understand why people seem to want to have a go at nicko?

he isnt even a rover,and takes time to keep us up-to-date with the progress being made on out targets.h doesnt have to do that,yet he does.why cant people be happy for this!!?

I'm not worried about taking stick. I get used to that at home anyway. And if you give it you have to take it.

For the record I get as much entertainment out of this as I have out of anything for a long time. I know how papers ignore your club more than anybody. It's been a pain in my butt for as long as I remember. If they waste a story I get less, if they ignore it I get sweet FA.

But before we get too loved up just remember that I will no doubt cop some serious flak the next time I have a story about a club wanting one of your stars.

It's good to know that there is such a massive appetite for news. Happy to toss any scraps I can.

there's speculation that Veron will sign with DC United of MLS at the end of the season (Argentina has a split season), so he can compete with his team in Copa Liberatores

Technical Director just flew back from Argentina where they met and seems a real possibility to go to the US, but not this immediate season

Ok, so your confusing two things. Someone giving transfer rumours and someone commenting on a players skill. Nicko doesn't say "OMG Blackburn should go for Santa Cruz he is well good, innit!", he just gives the information of who we are interested in. Also your confusing Tribal Football, ie unreliable with Nicko, ie reliable.

I'm not going to ask and ask and ask if there is anymore news, or wonder why Nicko hasn't replied for ten minutes! And I'm not going to tell Nicko how wonderful he is, however I will say your contribution is greatly appreciated Nicko, so thankyou.

true - however, up until the U-20 World Cup, he's been languishing in MLS. He certainly hasn't been anything of a standout in the US legaue for the past 2 years. Granted, he may perform better when up against better competition, but one of the reasons he left the Everton academy was because of a desire to play first team football. I can't imagine he'd leave to be in their reserves, or our reserves for that matter.

Lets be honest though, he just turned 20, he was out injured for about a year. He was playing in a fairly physical MLS league at 18, I can't imagine why he didn't set the world on fire. But I agree its probably not Danny.
