rover6 Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Is Modric that good. I know he was awesome against England but we've seen players excel at international level yet fail to cut it on a regular basis for their club sides - David Healy, Milan Baros (once upon a time) etc. If he can consistently put in displays like he put in v England, he'll be well worth the money. But wouldn't it be great if he turned out to be a Jeremy Blondel...?
DanLad Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Modric - Another embarrassing episode for the geordies!
ABBEY Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 how the rollux did nani not get a yellow for the challenge on ca£££££££££££££shly
RevidgeBlue Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Great first half from Chelsea, completely dominated it. I'd luv it, luv it if Man Ure lost today and in the CL and ended up winning naff all. Why the ferk would you leave Ronaldo on the bench for a game as important as this?
brian_gallagher85 Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Something to do with that red shirt he's wearing ! Great performance from the "best" team on the planet today....have that Fergie ya prick Van der Sar has been shocking and another Vidic injury, all is right with the world

Why the ferk would you leave Ronaldo on the bench for a game as important as this? Ditto. I'd be absolutely delighted if the Manc tossers end up with no silverware after this season. Quite the tactical masterstroke by ol' Red Nose, leaving Ronaldo on the bench. I bet he's going to come on and score a couple of screamers, though, that'd be so typical. Does anyone else think that giving Ballack a yellow card for paying respects to Frank Lampard's mum was extremely moronic?
M-K Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Ditto. I'd be absolutely delighted if the Manc tossers end up with no silverware after this season. Yes, it's great when the team that's played the best football all season winds up losing out to a bunch of hateful 1-0 merchants.
RevidgeBlue Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Grrrr............... had a tenner on no goals second half as well.
RevidgeBlue Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 how the rollux did nani not get a yellow for the challenge on ca£££££££££££££shly We've seen once again today that when a foul is committed by one of those two teams it doesn't even cross the ref's mind to issue a card. Whereas when it's a "lesser" team a card seems to come out straightaway. A modicum of consistency would be nice albeit it's a pipe dream.

Ashley Cole got away with a poor tackle on Ronaldo, them screamed at the ref and STILL didn't get a booking. In fact so much for the clampdown on harassing the referee, his ears will be ringing from both sets of players after today. As you say, a bit of consistency is all that is needed!!
brian_gallagher85 Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS (Please don't use that word again) you fergie
ABBEY Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 no utd player booked for protesting or ballack for going in the crowd
brian_gallagher85 Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Nice one for Van though ....loving this, Claude on to sure it up now
RevidgeBlue Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Yeeeeeeeesssssss!!!!! Super lino! Not entirely surprised to hear that was the first pen the red scum have conceded in the PL all season.
Lurid Coat Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Yes, it's great when the team that's played the best football all season winds up losing out to a bunch of hateful 1-0 merchants. Yes, because I absolutely loathe Man U. I don't give a toss if they've played the best football of the season. This isn't reason, this is pure emotion.

American Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 So, you'll become a Burnley fan if they start playing attractive football?
tony gale's mic Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Burnley are our traditional rivals though, its a two sided thing. I used to loathe United back in the day when we used to directly compete with them but now I don't mind them so much.
Lurid Coat Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 A bit sad, in my opinion, coming from somebody I assume is a football fan. I think you'll find that I'm not the only one who hates United for other reasons than their actual footballing skills or quality of their players. Logic goes straight out of the window when it comes to football, at least for me (and I'd wager that this is the case for most football fans).
brian_gallagher85 Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 I don't give a crap how well or poorly Maure play, I wan't them to lose and suffer at each and every oppurtunity
Hughesy Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Fulham are down - losing at City already. Bye Bye Fulham.
DP Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Burnley are our traditional rivals though, its a two sided thing. I used to loathe United back in the day when we used to directly compete with them but now I don't mind them so much. Being down in London for far too many years made me go a bit soft on Utd, especially being surrounded by Chelsea/Spurs fans (the Arsenal ones not so bad). What a wake up call it was when I was watching the game last weekend and sitting next to me was your classic arrogant Manc git who waited until they'd equalised before giving me a load of abuse. Instant Man Utd hatred resumed!
