Leeds plan to speak to Martinez this week...there may be other candidates...but I think it's worth a fiver at 33s or 40s. No more.

I see The Mirror is following the People trend of football on the front page, which is good.

Todays ‘Northern Edition has the Wise story on the front.

Is this the same as the you lot are getting, or is it Burnley on the front :lol:

LEEDS - I believe they are talking to four bosses, but Martinez is well fancied in there.

CHILEAN - I know nothing about the Chilean skipper...but I am willing to be informed.

TORTMAN - Getting very warm, there is another Champioship side in with an offer, so Rovers have probably got a decision to make.

LITA - No news.

MACEDONIAN - Still waiting for word, I hear there are a couple of faces around Brockhall but no names as yet.

NEWCASTLE - Hilarious although I am a bit concerned that some detail here found its way into some North-East stories this morning...I'm watching that kind of thing.

When we had Jorge Acuna on trial pre-season, JWilliams said that Rovers have an agreement with a Chilean agency which, I if I remember the quotes rightly, give Rovers first option on clients of theirs that become available.

I suspect that's what's happened here and the guy is on trial or is coming on trial.

A few articles saying we are in for him at £1m, rehashed on here

Martinez is in to 16/1 on Skybet - must have been the £10 I've just had on at 40/1 which has sent the odds crashing :D

Precisely den.

Given we are talking about a 15 hours+ journey time to get him to Brockhall (at least one flight connection, probably two), hopefully we either have what we need to check him out in South America or the guy has his bags packed and is on his way.

CHILEAN - Spoken to my South American man who says that the guy, who is a very good player, is talking to Fenerbahce in Turkey abiut a move and close to joining them. So he is available, he can move...and we will see if Rovers are really interested.

SUNDAY PEOPLE - Just found out sales went up about 6 per cent in Burnley with the front page and Blackburn sales were also up. No doubt someone will report me to the Trading Standards or whatever for daring to say there would be something worth reading in the paper. ;)

Edit: Paddypower have withdrawn the market with him at 16/1. He has also dropped to 10/1 on skybet.

Good spot. Only skybet have a market now - and he's 2nd favourite at 10/1 as you say. McAllister still a very short 1/4.

His info is 10 days old Alan.

On the 15th it was supposedly Sevilla who made an offer.

On the 16th Deportivo & Valencia entered the picture.

Fenerbahçe was supposed to be a done deal as of the 18th.

I might even hazard a guess as to what "big soccer" website your South American guy got his info from. Let's hope this is for real from our standpoint. Like you say: "if Rovers are really interested".

The source was the same guy who told me Roque was coming...so I'll take his word on the basis of form. What is obvious is that the guy has been hawked around and had no takers - yet.

Incidentally the Macedonian Steve Gerrard is going elsewhere. It may come out during the day. Club with money. Saw him on trial yesterday and signed him. I don't know if he made it to Blackburn...but he certainly isn't signing.
