Sandiway Blue Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 Nicko,an mk dons fan has been on saying we are about to sign Keith Andrews.Have you heard anything?
Badgemaker Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 All I am reporting is what some of our more right than wrong posters have been on the player/manager movements. The poster who posted about andrews was correct about ince going to you and dyer leaving as well. Some of us think that Ince has left a season too early although we dop hope he does well for his sake as well as yours
Poita Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 I know I might be a bit think, but brad as two years left on his deal at rovers, so if he goes it will only be if the club wants it. You sound think

There might well be bargains and potential stars to be found in the lower leagues or places you wouldn't expect, look at our Derbs for instance as being a great example. I get the impression from reading some of your boards in particular on 606 that Andrews is championship standard at best. Is that correct in your view? Its early days i know and plenty of twists and turns yet, but imagine what the reaction would be if we sold Brad, signed Fowler after his trial and brought in Andrews.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 On the other hand, who'd have ever thought Super Atko would have played 36 games for a Premiership title winning side ....
BomBom Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 On the other hand, who'd have ever thought Super Atko would have played 36 games for a Premiership title winning side .... I know this is going to be unpopular but.......It was more like how the hell did he? He was very average. Just stood in the centre circle directing other players where to move to and occasionally got forward. Never was his biggest fan tho but I honestly believed that he was vastly overrated,
tony gale's mic Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 On the other hand, who'd have ever thought Super Atko would have played 36 games for a Premiership title winning side .... Premiership 1994-95 and Premiership 2008-09 are two entirely different propositions.

Never was his biggest fan tho but I honestly believed that he was vastly overrated, He wasn't overated by anyone in Blackburn, everyone thought he was cack - just had this nack of scoring important goals! Tim Sherwood 1992 - 1999 played 246 games, 25 goals Super Atko 1988 - 1995 played 257 games, 35 goals including 6 in the title season Super Atko, Super Atko, woah oh, woah oh
RibbleValleyRover Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 Interesting mini interview with Warnock talking a bit about training and his thoughts on Fowler joining up for the tour: http://www.skysports.com/video/0,20285,12606_3810065,00.html

Lathund Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 I'm not worried about relegation. We'd probably survive if we lost Bentley, RSC and Friedel without signing anyone! Simply because there are sides worse than us still. However failing to deal properly with these three and any possible signings would see us out of the race for Europe, which would be bad enough.

I agree that there are lot of sides worse than us so i don't think we will face relegation. I have to wait and see who Ince brings in and the tactics he is going to use before i am going to make a full prediction of where we end up. If we lose Brad, Bents and Roque my initial thoughts will probably be we don't stand a chance of Europe.
BomBom Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 He wasn't overated by anyone in Blackburn, everyone thought he was cack - just had this nack of scoring important goals! A lot of fans I have spoken to thought the sun shone outta his backside! The reason he was able to get those important goals was that it wasnt as if he was busy doing anything constructive, like defending and tracking back!
modes98 Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 The poster who posted about andrews was correct about ince going to you and dyer leaving as well. Ince for the rovers job was hardly rocket science though. We always appoint British and he is from the smae mould as Hughes. Problem is, IMO, that he is nowhere near as good as Hughes and doesn't have the same natural ability for management. If he goes for Andrews, which i doubt, he will be going in the opposite way out of the revolving door at ewood. By all accounts Andrews is an average League 2 player.

He was one of those 'lucky' players, he'd do very little in a match then bundle in the winner - every team needs one!
pksrover Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 He was one of those 'lucky' players, he'd do very little in a match then bundle in the winner - every team needs one! Just like Chelsea have Lampard? He always seem to fluke those goals in deflected off 5 or 6 players.

This bloke took a team 7,048 points behind at the very bottom tier of English footbal and saved them in half a season. He then took a team who had been relegated every season for the past 400 years or something and got 'em promoted an won em a cup. Cut him some slack, what do you need to be a natural manager? And how do you prove it?!
neophox Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 Nicko: Do you know if Michel Salgado of Real Madrid would interest Rovers? I know he's available and QPR is interested and Salgados confirmed the interest.

67splitscreen Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 Anyone, no if there is any truth in this. I know it's not the positions we need to strengthen or believed to be what Ince is looking at, but after the last couple of days, Who knows. Thorstein Helstad. Blackburn is ready make an offer to Brann Bergen. He will cost them aprox. £1.5 million punds. Helstad is also at personal friend of Morten Gamst Pedersen who is already playing for Blackburn.
alexanders Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 Where do you have the story about Helstad from. Norwegian Newspapers?

Did you just make this up now then? Where did this come from?
67splitscreen Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 Did you just make this up now then? Where did this come from? Found it on the web, but not sure if the source is any good. Could be embarrassing, if you know what I mean. Since found out he signed a 3 year contract in 2006. Say's he's happy at Bergen, still so does Brad.
