broadsword Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I think it's more important who's been playing more this season? Presumably Bunn wins hands-down on that. Although I guess Brown will start, wshich doesn't fill me with confidence (he'll probably win Man of the Match now).

It's a shame, I don't think he's as good as some keepers we've had in the past for England, but he's certainly as good as the rest of the ones selected at the moment.

Even I'm better than calamity James and that's saying something .
philipl Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 England's loss. Robo is no Banks or Shilton but for sure he is better than 40 year old calamity or the dodgy Green and Hart.
ewoodpo Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 James we all know about always been prone to make mistakes, Green average keeper playing in a team that might be relegated. As for Hart had an ok season however, not experianced enough to play in the World Cup also , from what i saw of him at Ewood a couple of weeks ago crap. Robbo might not be amongst the better keepers that we have had but is the best english keeper by a mile. Englands lost is our gain he will be fresh for pre season after his holidays.
mark1875 Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 back in training and set to be named in saturdays squad
modes98 Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Hopefully he plays and that is the last we see of Mr Brown.
Hughesy Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Hopefully he plays and that is the last we see of Mr Brown. Agreed - hopefully he moves on in the summer too!
tony gale's mic Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Yeah not the biggest Robbo fan on here but at least he's Premier League class. Brown is barely League One class.
alexanders Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 GK Save percentage. GK SAVE PERCENTAGE Brad Friedel at the top and our very own Paul Robinson in 15th.
Majiball Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Just out of curiousity why when I click on an external link on here does it also change the brfcs window to the website in the new window as well?
roversmum Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Glad it's not just me then. Was thinking I'd have to investigate the matter.

dazmaz Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Just out of curiousity why when I click on an external link on here does it also change the brfcs window to the website in the new window as well? mine does it as well. back on topic. I wouldn't read too much into that link "The bottom three on this list are all English, while only one Englishman, mighty Joe Hart, makes the top 10." 18. Brian Jensen, Burnley - 66% of 200 19. Chris Kirkland, Wigan Athletic - 65% of 144 20. David James, Portsmouth - 61% of 106
Majiball Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 And James will be at SA????? lets just hope he doesn't play.

Kelbo Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 not according to that table Best Danish Back Bacon mate, the flying pig and a great Dane!!
Majiball Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 He definitely was a flying pig at Ewood this year, almost as good as Flappyhandski.
Montfort Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 GK Save percentage. GK SAVE PERCENTAGE Brad Friedel at the top and our very own Paul Robinson in 15th. Fascinating stats. Thanks for that. I want to say there is something wrong with the stats but cant for the life of me think what. Also the differential between the number of shots faced by different keepers is staggering but falls in line with expectations on reflection. Still think that Robinson is very unlucky not to be going on what I have seen but dont see the other 3 very often. I must have missed some cracking performances by them though.
tony gale's mic Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 He finished near the bottom last year, actually if anything this year's an improvement as he was 19th or so last year. He has been better this year for sure but it seems about right, some people on here really overrate the guy. Still it shows it's a pretty bad bunch going to South Africa this year...
DeadlyDirk Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Well I don't know how reliable those stats are if they are classing Jensen as English, last time I checked Copenhagen was in Denmark.
Kelbo Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 a good keeper needs three things to help him, confidence (which Robbo has now got) a good understanding of his back four (Central defenders especially) plus ability. Robbo is one of the best kickers in the world, never mind England, he is a very good shot stopper, his weakness is problably his command of the box but he was better with Samba and Jones together as they won a huge percentage of high balls and he had confidence in them as they had in Robbo, a back four and keeper are a unit and clean sheets are a reflection as to how they have played as such. I dont think Green, James or Hart are as good as Robbo and the guy is really unlucky if he misses out, we are at Rovers lucky to have him!!
tony gale's mic Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Well I don't know how reliable those stats are if they are classing Jensen as English, last time I checked Copenhagen was in Denmark. I'm fairly sure statistical analysis of shots to saves doesn't include a players' nationality. At the end of the day Robbo's stats were even worse last season so at least it's a sign he's improving...
