Amo Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 The simple use of IMO after many statements would rseolve the issue. It would also be completely superfluous to use that over and over again. Unless someone posts an absolute fact, anything else is clearly just their opinion and open to contention.

JAL Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 2 players looking very likely to leave.... Khizanishvili is trying to manufacture a permanent move from Blackburn Rovers to Reading Reid Opens talks with West Brom With Judge being told he can leave too....& Di Santo's loan not being renewed....+ Benni has already gone....AND MGP looking like he could well be off. Thier must be quite a saving on the wage budget opening up ready for our summer business?! Are we not still paying Paul Ince and his management team until christmas this year. But he's got a beard...he'd fit right in with Givet...and Dunn could grow his back too (people have forgotten how brilliantly rugged he looked with it). To summarise....beards rule OK capt...
Steve Moss Posted May 14, 2010 Author Posted May 14, 2010 11 goals in 32 starts – Piquionne (Age 31) 10 goals in 22 starts - Dindane (Age 29) I'n not knocking Dindane, 10 goals in 22 starts is very good. But for sake of more complete information, this is how Dindane's goals break down: 1 against Carlisle 3 against Wigan 1 against Burnley 1 against Sunderland 1 against Southhampton 2 against Bolton 1 against Wolves He mostly scores against teams I would expect to beat anyway, so I'm not sure whether he'll bring the ability to consistently score against the top half clubs. And he has scored in 5 of 18 PL games (28%). By contrast, Piquoinne goals: 1 against Hereford 2 against Stoke 1 against Wigan 1 against Chelsea 1 against Liverpool 1 against Stoke 1 against Burnley 2 against Birmingham 1 against Tottenham Piquionne can score against the top half. And has scored in 8 of 26 PL games (30%). Anyway, I'm not sure it makes any difference. And I wouldn't be opposed to having both at the club for a couple of years, especially as I'd expect their scoring to improve in a more stable environment.
Lathund Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 But he's got a beard...he'd fit right in with Givet...and Dunn could grow his back too (people have forgotten how brilliantly rugged he looked with it). To summarise....beards rule So we might have four PL-standard centre halves, and he may be 33 years old, but if it's beards we want (And we do), we should sign Olof Mellberg.
Eddie Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Please can we try and avoid players who weren't good enough to make it in Ligue 1.
Steve Moss Posted May 15, 2010 Author Posted May 15, 2010 Please can we try and avoid players who weren't good enough to make it in Ligue 1. Wasn't N'Zonzi Ligue 2? We aren't the richest club so we have to seek out talent in areas the big clubs might not pay attention.
Eddie Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 N'Zonzi wasn't a journeyman who had failed to impress at several clubs, he was a respected young talent.
nicko Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Total stunner in the People tomorrow... Surprised it has not come out so far, it's been buzzing around for the past few days. Prepare for meltdown. I will provide more info if the tale is not used properly. Got to get back to the day job...

Backroom Tom Posted May 15, 2010 Backroom Posted May 15, 2010 Good things don't come when nicko says something like that. If it wasn't in this thread I would have said Sam to Wham due to him being in London (only hal joking) As it stands though I imagine samba to arsenal or a crap player in
Hughesy Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 As it stands though I imagine samba to arsenal or a crap player in Heard Fabregas wants to go Barca - perhaps he wants to come here instead as Barca just simply copy us...Samba for Fabregas?!!? Hmmm not sure!
Amo Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Samba's departure would not be a "total stunner". A lot of us were anticipating it this summer, anyway!
OJRovers Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Total stunner in the People tomorrow... Surprised it has not come out so far, it's been buzzing around for the past few days. Prepare for meltdown. yellowsubmarine Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Just hope it ain't a "big player" of ours moving on to the big teams. It will be sickening just as we are on our way to build a better team next season.
1864roverite Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Oh dear that doesnt sound positive. Afgter the season we have just had, the club and fans are on a high and the bubble SOUNDS like it is going to be deflated big time. Maybe we are taking over PNE eh ?
67splitscreen Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 IMO, selling a player or players is hardly meltdown, even a manager being replaced would not warrant that phrase. Meltdown is more commonly used around football and on here as a serious lack of finances. No way have ours changed dramatically in the last year.
Amo Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Perhaps some explanation for why we haven't got a pot to piddle in this summer.
EwoodGlory Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Rovers related? This, I don't want to be worried for rest of the day about something bad happening
67splitscreen Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Oh dear.. Fat Sam - West Ham ? Not out of the question, ? is could Sam work with the porn boys, doubt Sam would tolerate them sticking their oars in everywhere. Perhaps some explanation for why we haven't got a pot to piddle in this summer. Everyone new it was never going to be overflowing, how can that be meltdown.
EwoodGlory Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Oh dear.. Fat Sam - West Ham ? Nicko did say he was in London
