Heard rumours today that Bruce was to walk after Bent being sold, I would imagine he will be given the cash to spend though.

Up to £24m for Bent. Jesus wept. And people thought we should be chucking that sort of money around for an albeit decent quality Premiership striker. Absolute madness.

Last time the lad rocked up at a supposedly bigger club with a big price tag he somewhat failed to live up to expectations. Wouldn't bet on him turning that around in a team in a transitionary period.

If Bruce spends that money properly in the summer and can somehow get the players in to make them halfways decent away they will be a force to be reckoned with next year. He'd be a mug to walk away now.

Yeah but Bent has scored 81 premier league goals in the last 5 years...just 1 behind the leaders (Drogba & Rooney with 82)

For once I agree with you.

Darren Bent is a class act, out of his last 8 and a half seasons in the top flight only one season could be classed as a bad one. Apart from that he's been banging in the goals every season.

Compare that with our very own Roque's record in the top flight for the last ten or so seasons and Bent is a far superior player.

Obviously it's somewhat of a moot point since we couldn't have signed Darren Bent on loan, but there's many on here who'd claim Roque is the better player.

Gary Glitter is apparently applying for the Villa manager job after hearing their strikers are Young, Bent and, possibly, Keane.

Two of them are Young but only one is Bent (and that's just a rumour thus far).

I met him at Liverpool NICU today and he is indeed a handsome woman !!

(Actually he seemed a nice guy and had a pretty unassuming car).

Wheater signs for Bolton £2.3m, either strengthening the CB's or maybe Cahill will now move south now.

Cahill is staying till the summer apparently, least thats what Nicko has written in the mirror and what Coyle has said about 15 times already this month. Still gets linked with Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea regularly but that has been happening for the past 4 windows now and as far as I'm aware still nobody has bid for him!

We only had Cahill and Knight on our books at centre back after selling Andy O Brien to Leeds so another centre half was crucial (as was any player really, we had just 3 outfield subs over christmas, with a very small squad). Think Cahill will go in the summer because otherwise he will be running his contract and value down.

Good player, young with excellent potential, possible future international. Sort of promising British player we should be looking to sign instead of "marquee" here-today gone-tomorrow has-beens been signings from abroad.

It wasn't long ago Man Utd were looking at buying Wheater.

He might have gone off track for the last couple of years but personally I'd blame that on staying at Boro. He should have left when they went down so he could continue to develop at the highest level.
