Backroom Tom Posted May 5, 2011 Backroom Posted May 5, 2011 My season ticket concern is not Kean but the expected price increase I wouldn't worry about that I imagine it will be minimal should we stay up. It's if were relegated that it's time to worry.

gumboots Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 So if Kean continues as manager next season------you won't be concerned? Not what he said! He said the main factor affecting whether he buys a season ticket will be whether he can afford one. Whoever the manager is, Kean or a.n.other he'll probably buy one if they remain affordable. As will I. It's not the manager my ticket supports - it's the club.
Athlete Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Actually, I am told by quite a number of ST holders they will not renew if Kean is manager, they are also considering watching Stanley, after attending games late this season, some will never return whilst the present owners are in charge of the club!! That is exactly what I know of quite a few people , whilst we have these owners and kean in charge

Mercer Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Absolute Rubbish. This is exactly the reason why I question where your allegencies lie mercerman. Gav, over the last week or so, I've spoken with about a dozen people who are S.T. holders - throw in my tickets and that's something like 60% (9 out of 15) who will not renew if Kean is in charge. Add that to Kelbo and Athlete's take on the position and you get a picture. It's not bunkum - look upon it like an opinion poll pre election and extrapolate the results. If Kelbo, Athlete and myself are correct, then we are in the deep proverbial.
A cup of beans Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 So we didn't 'mix it up' before? We got to 10th in the table and on course for more of the same by wacking it up field to our (largely) useless strikers for two years? yes, that exactly what we did! long throws.. big hoofs all the time. i agree with you for once!

Mercer Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 oh no! NINE PEOPLE! how will the club cope with that! ? as gav said, insignificant number! You miss the point - that is a sample and if representative of the whole............... Glad you think it's funny if our support falls away significantly. At least there will be more room for the likes of Gav and yourself!

It stems from the fact when Allardyce was sacked all our group that go to games, to a man and woman said, they’d be renewing season tickets now, but wouldn’t have been had Allardyce stayed in charge. The usual suspects claimed that the feeling amongst supporters didn’t reflect that and I’d say the same here. But I do still think its Bunkum.
Mattyblue Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 If we go down the ST sales will be horrendous. If we stay up and the prices remain similar, I think they will hold up (ish), however I have spoken to fans who I would NEVER have believed would have given up STs whilst they were still drawing breath- a good number are thinking of packing it in. That is what worries me. ps anyone who thinks Kean is going to be anything but a negative for ST sales need to get back to reality. oh no! NINE PEOPLE! how will the club cope with that! ? as gav said, insignificant number! pps how old are you zac? 8?

Well Matty, recent history proves that not to be the case if memory serves me correctly. You could talk about different times and different owners, but we did ok last time we went down, and the tickets cost more also, I think.
A cup of beans Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 pps how old are you zac? 8? in that post i used a similar tone to many of your own. You miss the point - that is a sample and if representative of the whole............... Glad you think it's funny if our support falls away significantly. At least there will be more room for the likes of Gav and yourself! we'll have to wait and see. anyone who calls themselves a rovers fan and jumps ship to another team, can go and .... dig a hole!

Glad you think it's funny if our support falls away significantly. At least there will be more room for the likes of Gav and yourself! Plenty (including my mate's Dad in Law, a lifelong Rover and ST holder of many years standing) vowed that this year's ST would be the last as long as Allardyce was boss. My mate's outlaw would have been a much sadder loss for the club than you Miseryman.
Mattyblue Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Aye ok zac, maybe time to use the ignore function for the first ever time... Hope you are right GAV, but we still lost 4/5000 last time under Jack Walker (with prices remaining similar).
A cup of beans Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Aye ok zac, maybe time to use the ignore function for the first ever time... maybe matty... i was only responding to you... dont dish it out if ya cant take it i must say kean's 'cycle talk' in the LET is nonsense.
Mattyblue Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 I've been dishing it out to you fir about a month, you win.
A cup of beans Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Glad you think it's funny if our support falls away significantly. by the way... where have i said that! ???
onlyonejackwalker Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 yes, that exactly what we did! long throws.. big hoofs all the time. i agree with you for once! Far be it for me to educate you about the science, methodology or strategy behind the way the the previous manager organised his team and played the game. You keep blundering around posting your basic observations and we will just smile politely. For the record, to differentiate from the 'noise' such as posted above, and to discuss something actually factual, we have only scored a pathetic 19 goals in 18 matches under Kean which immediately undermines the scripted "spin / myth" of what wonderful football we have been playing since he got the job. And laughingly, many of the chances we have created have come from, yes you guessed it, hoofball... But plese dont let any facts get in your way and please keep posting as above. It makes my morning go faster. DLWLWLWLLDLLDDDLLW
A cup of beans Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 I've been dishing it out to you fir about a month, you win. i wasnt aware it was a contest. Far be it for me to educate you about the science, methodology or strategy behind the way the the previous manager organised his team and played the game. you can use stats all you want. the style of play it was hoofball and cant be denied! even big sam admits it! i found it incredibly dull, whereas you didnt... different opinion... so what ?

Stats? What a weak response, you are comedy gold. The stats relate to Steve Kean mate, no-one else, so please keep up. In fact they are not stats, they are facts, but like I said don't let that bother you. We are often playing hoofball now pal, so take off your Kean tinted specs and smell the coffee. You will feel better posting with more honesty and from a more knowledgeable and and informed position, I promise.

jim mk2 Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 It stems from the fact when Allardyce was sacked all our group that go to games, to a man and woman said, they'd be renewing season tickets now, but wouldn't have been had Allardyce stayed in charge. And the same people probably won't renew if / when we are relegated. And why are in danger of being relegated ?.... because Sam was sacked. You lot want it all ways.

No wonders your posts are absolute pish.... Joking aside, there is a science and methodologly behind the percentage play employed by the likes of SA and others. I presume you know this Zac, well I hope you do anyway, so therefore I wonder why you constantly quote hoofball, direct football, long-ball, etc etc unless pedantically trying to score points and tailor your comments to show and demonstrate your feelings / bias. The problem with debtating like this is that it is somewhat child-like and counter productive, designed purely to irritate. There is no such word as hoofball pal, it was a phrase coined by others to criticise our manager / club so you demonstrate your ignorance immediately. "Most of our goals have not been from hoofball have they?" Mmmmmmm. Have we scored any? But it depends if you are bright enough to include preceeding passages of play when assessing that point and as an aside it is very hard to speak knowledgeably about that anyway as we cannot score under your hero, despite the beauiitiful football I keep being promised, but missing when attending matches. 19 goals in 18 matches only, so there is little point discussing how we score our measly rations is there? I am just amazed and pleased in equal measure when one goes in and don't care how it got there.
