gumboots Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 There are some truly stunning places to live all within 90 minutes of the training ground (In fact there are THREE national parks in that radius). Places where you won't get robbed or have your bags snatched by a moped driver.....if you don't get mown down on a crossing first It always annoys me that people think that players won't come to Blackburn because of the town itself. No players live there, do they? You don't see them out shopping in Primark in the Mall. They live in Harrogate and York, Manchester and the leafy bits of Cheshire, in the Ribble Valley (though less often now) Their wives can afford to go shopping in Rome if they want to and take holidays anywhere they fancy. Ewood Park is where they play matches but for most that's all they see of the town.

What! no Saturday nights on the raz, curry switch on then the Khyber for a ruby murry these boys and girls are seriously missing out
RibbleValleyRover Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Are Milan after Lamela Roberto? I would imagine a lot of clubs would be looking at him after River got relegated. Creative midfielder in the centre, sort of player we should be looking at if Venky's are looking for talents in South America to build up their profile in the region. Though if the likes of Milan really want him we have no chance...
CrazyIvan Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 No brighter future comments today? Yep, sun's out...
alexanders Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Didnt know where to put this and I hope someone with more knowledge could help me understand. Blackburn Rovers is on 5th place in total revenue 11/12. Revenue Edit: Never mid. Its because of the sale of PJones.

My mate once saw the Rovers squad in one of our nightclubs after going to the races. He begged Duff not to leave on my behalf. Didn't work mind you.

Robinson lives somewhere round York, I think - don't know where exactly obviously. One of my son's friends serves him coffee fairly often in Starbucks. My daughter tried asking Duff not to leave too when she worked at the Bailey Arms in Hurst Green but it didn't work for her either.

No offence to your daughter's efforts but she was opposing his cut of a £17m transfer plus a massive wage rise. But still worth doing.

PAFELL Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 If you don't ask you don't get. and he was very undecided up until the night before he went. What I heard was that deep down he did not want to go. But also considered that if Rovers were willing to sell him, then he was no longer wanted - which he found hard to take. Was he not still living with his Mum at the time. His life was basically football, training, then home. Night life etc didn't interest him etc.

All "Mr Blackburn Rovers" had to do was say to them 'I'm fine here thank you'

All "Mr Blackburn Rovers" had to do was say to them 'I'm fine here thank you' Rovers fan or not, you don't turn down the chance to play for Man U under SAF, particularly if you're a young, promising and ambitious player. At Utd, he will win trophies, play in the Champions League and represent England - probably making the Euro 2012 squad. At Rovers none of that would happen.

You CAN turn it down, I just don't understand this mentality that our own fans have. Would most professionals stay at Rovers? No, course they wouldn't, be off like a shot. However, for a teenage FAN to stay at his 'beloved' club for just a few years in the PL such a big ask? If so, football in this country really is fecked.
Mattyblue Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Oh I know it has, still a sad indicment of the game though.

It doesnt help though matty if your current boss is slagging you off, you feel very hurt because of it,then one of the best managers in the business comes along and says he wants you to play for him. What would you do in a similar situation plus your being offered a massive pay rise as well. No brainer Mattyblue.
imy9 Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 JAL- if what you say is true then why has no other poster corroborated the story? This story would have been out in the public domain as Kean supposedly did this in front of all the players. My take? Complete bull.
Majiball Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 If I was an up and coming star and my choices were SAF or Kean to develop my career I know what I would do. If Rovers had another manager, different story provided he was good.
