Wilko Rover Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Oh great, he's not having his medical today... Goodwillie is obviously holding out for a Rangers bid to be accepted.
niggit Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 No medical happening today, just been on SkY Sports News.
roversfanben Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Wtf? Why not? All though in fairness, when I was told about this move, I was told it would go through on Tuesday or Wednesday. Well played, Rovers, allow Rangers to get another bid in for the guy!
davulsukur Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Does it give a reason as to why? or is it just the obvious that he is holding out for the Rangers move? CryerRovers Andrew Cryer Goodwillie has not had a medical yet. Confusion growing
broadsword Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Goodwillie not had medical yet, says Cryer. Oh for a straightforward transfer (in).
Nelsta Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Think a few on here are right, he looks like he's holding out for Rangers.
den Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 3 possibilities. 1] no problem, he'll have the medical tomorrow 2] Rangers 3] Waiting for Kalinic signing first.
Wilko Rover Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 So either Steve Kean is in Pune and wants to meet Goodwillie before he signs and vice versa, or Goodwillie's just waiting to see if Rangers can get a bid accepted then he'll p*ss off there... it has to be the latter reason...
Exiled_Rover Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 If he's holding out for Rangers then he has no ambition.
roversfanben Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 I think it may be the Steve Kean reason. But if so, how ###### stupid is that? We are now giving Rangers the chance to improve their bid and have it accepted by United.
Nelsta Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Trouble is wages aside what can Rovers offer him? At Rangers he's guaranteed a full capacity crowd, European football and he will get trophies at Rangers. And he's a proven goal scorer in the SPL.
rebelmswar Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Never underestimate the power of the silver tongue. Abomination of a transfer policy we have.
roversfanben Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Taken from a Rangers fan forum: "My wee insider said on phone a few mins ago, Dundee Utd are being a nuisance, ( cant blame them ) but Rangers and Stephen Thompson had an agreement that they would sell him to us first ???? and that they can agree a deal and get the boy up to Murray park tonight or tommorrow! NUthin you all dont know except the sell to us first part"

At Rangers he's guaranteed a full capacity crowd, European football and he will get trophies at Rangers. And he's a proven goal scorer in the SPL. A much higher level of football. If he's fine being a flat track bully in a league that only has 4 meaningful fixtures for Rangers so be it. As for European football, don't make me laugh. Rangers get tonked every year in the Champions League.
imy9 Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 We are a premier league club Rangers are playing in a league worse than the championship. If the boy wants to play for Rangers good luck to him, we move on.

We are now giving Rangers the chance to improve their bid and have it accepted by United. Calm down sweet heart. Why is everything Keans or Venkys fault? Weve made a bid thats been accepted but we cant force him to have a medical straight away. Its obvious he ia holding out for Rangers and always has been. Anyone else was always plan B for him.
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 He could be holding out for Rangers, I've seen some comments elsewhere that he is a Rangers fan so his dream move might be to play for the club he supports.
den Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 He could be holding out for Rangers, I've seen some comments elsewhere that he is a Rangers fan so his dream move might be to play for the club he supports. As was Colin Hendry's.

How do you know it's obvious he is holding out for Rangers? Do you have some knowledge the rest of us don't? No, I didn't think so. Why should your opinion be more valid than mine? I think it is down to Kean, you don't. If you don't like what I post, ignore it and move on. From Radio Lancashire: "Blackburn Rovers say negotiations are continuing with Dundee United striker David Goodwillie after the two clubs agreed a fee"
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Talk on twitter (obviously not the best source) that he is now on his way to Ibrox.

If he's holding out for Rangers then he has no ambition. I think the rumor goodie would prefair a move to rangers, is that hes a rangers fan. this is a rumor spread by rangers fans for rangers fans(when he score against them he celebrate less than when he scores against Celtic ) him and his family are hibs fans -- im almost sure of this :-)
rebelmswar Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Then he would not want to go to Rangers too much if he were a Hibs fan. I swear, I hope our managerial mastermind is having a good time in Pune. Who is there at Rovers right now, in the country, that can deal with this? I know we have no chairman or the like. Who is in charge at the moment?

More importantly, just what are the manager and players doing in Pune at a crucial stage of pre season?? Sorry, I just dont get this at all!!
