Billy Castell Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Goodwillie could be our next Gallacher, and we could get some good goals from him if he comes. If he doesn't do that well, then at least we've not done what Chelsea have with Torres last season. I'm willing to be positive about this move should it come off, though I'd also like another, more established quality out-and-out striker as well.

Keep it clean and relevant or your comments may be edited or removed http://www.facebook.com/peter.clapham Peter Clapham Perhaps he didn’t want to play for a club where the chairman is so disrespectful of other clubs. If those are genuine quotes, then he is an ignorant prat! For goodness sake
Speedie Dived Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 The bottom line is, is he any good? Pat Nevin said he is not quick enough for the Premier League but i was under the impression he is quick?
Roth Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Just to lighten the mood a bit and to lighten it a bit further...
booth Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 The bottom line is, is he any good? Pat Nevin said he is not quick enough for the Premier League but i was under the impression he is quick? His movement appears to be very good which perhaps makes up for his lack of pace. He seems a very determined player. Can't remember who said it, but he's a bit of a die-hard who is willing to endanger himself to get the ball in the back of the net. Also although Pat Nevin said he's not quick enough, which I think is bull, he's not slow either.
callumrovers Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Big news regarding David Goodwillie. I turned up outside Brockhall today at 12.00 . Goodwillie and his agent arrived at 12.40 in a brand new Honda. He came out of Brockhall at 4:30 with his agent, i had a quick conversation with him and got his signature on my Rovers shirt!!!! I asked him if he had signed yet, he replied "No, not yet" Which makes me think he is coming for the second part of the medical tomorrow. He signed my Rovers shirt so i am very confident he will sign for us now. You wouldnt sign someones shirt unless you were going to sign for them. Seemed like a really nice bloke, didnt have a problem signing the shirt. I was the only person there apart from a camera team, he ran over when i was getting my shirt signed with camera and was filming it all, so keep a look out for me getting it signed by him. Deffinatley signing now. Excited!!!
Neal Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Just to lighten the mood a bit I tried posting on there but wouldn't allow. So for any Rangers fans that may cross this thread I shall post it here: Perhaps he wanted to follow in the footsteps of Shearer, Sutton, Bellamy, Hendry, Berg, Garner, Ardiles etc....? For one of 4 teams to ever win the EPL instead of playing more below par football in that league of two you have? Or the thought of wheeling David Wier to the penalty box for a corner. Confused why he'd want to play in arguably the best league in the world? You lot would join us southerners in a heartbeat. Thankfully, that will never happen. P.S. Thanks for Tugay.

Also although Pat Nevin said he's not quick enough, which I think is bull, he's not slow either. I would tend to agree with those comments, wont get bullied and will put himself where it hurts, not pacey as such but is quick off the mark and a little change of pace too from what I have seen!!!

SergioPeter89 Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Love that we are signing Goodwillie. One thing that I think is funny, is that when Phil Jones signed a United-shirt before he was presented as a United player, then everyone on here was furious.

One thing that I think is funny, is that when Phil Jones signed a United-shirt before he was presented as a United player, then everyone on here was furious. Difference is Phil Jones' club wasn't opening taking offers from interested clubs. Take your point though!

Now, how about a picture of that shirt?
patrickvalery Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Not entirely sure why, but i have got a good feeling about this lad. I think he could develop into a really decent player. Lol was really cool, didnt expect that, especially when the camera came running over! No doubts about it now, he is going to sign, just have the 2nd part of medical tomorrow Good on you pal. Your excitement alone has lifted some of the gloom round these parts.
