sam_rovers Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Ecstatic with the result. We know those retards Venkys arent gonna give us a real manager so we might as well enjoy the victories and hope we can stay up

JAL Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Bunn can't kick as well as Robbo, is that why we tried to pass the ball a bit more today? I judge my goalkeepers on can they collect crosses under pressure and their overall ability and desire to save the ball. On another note, watched a young French kid in goal for the Rovers youths the other week, and was very impressed by the lad, dont know his name, but he dealt well with what was thrown at him on the day.
Mercer Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Fantastic result. Bunn, Hanley (ever improving), Henley (what a prospect) & Yak were excellent. Credit to Kean on two excellent results over Christmas. Thought he even showed a little more humility in ESPN interview (not seen any other interviews) and did tell the players to go to the fans. He still has lots and lots to do to stand any chance of recovering any credibility but at least we now seem to have a fighting chance.
Messi422 Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Great result, especially the average age of Rovers players at the end of the game is 22.272. 5 of them was born in 90s. Truly amazing!
ada2020 Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Cracking result, keeps us in touch with the rest. Could this be a turning point? Not sure but the players filling in for injuries are staking a terrific claim for their places. Still think Kean is ######, disgusted with venkys stance on funds. But for today I am proud of the rovers, first time in a little while.
Drover Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Brilliant result. Yak and hanley were brilliant. Mgp is a problem though. If we do buy a midfielder in Jan then its his place I would like to see taken.
1864roverite Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 well well well, New Years Eve and Rovers, a team in dire straits go to the Champions and get a win that not only offers a lifeline, it stuns the whole footballing world to its foundations. Whilst I am ecstatic with the win, I want to ask how Mr Kean would have felt if he had secured at least another 9 points from the previous 5 games when we should have ? Those losses turned into wins would surely have seen Rovers close to securing a top 10 spot rather than messing around in the bottom 3. I am an avid Kean Out supporter but credit to where its is due. Today you appeared to get it right, it does not make it right for the previous 12 months of incompetence. Hopefully you have learned a harsh lesson and wont make the same costly mistakes. I can imagine the hullaballoo over in PUNE right now as the Raos go about their friends honking about Rovers, their club, doing the mighty manure on their own patch. I also hope they also learn from their mistakes. Hope everyone has a good night tonight. Happy New Year

Your posts are so much more pleasant when sprinkled with a splash of positivity. Happy New Year to you. COYB
Rovermatt Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 We were headed down anyway, however it will certainly be with Kean at the helm after today. The man's going nowhere, regardless of how much we want it. Any manager, no matter who he is, deserves credit for getting 3 points at United. Unfortunately this will be used for the rest of season to gloss over the chaos at the club. That said, I'm delighted with grabbing three points at the Theatre of Merchandise. That should stick a spanner in Fergie's works.
yeti-dog Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Funny ole game football - for the five matches over xmas (starting with WBA), we needed a minimum of 7 points - win against Stoke and we will have got that return - who would have thought we would have lost two home matches and then got four points from Anfield and Old Trafford. Lets see if Kean can get the balance right when playing at home - Stoke is a very difficult match, especially considering the effort put in by the guys in the last two matches. What chance Givet, Olsson, Dunn and Hoilett being available for the Stoke match ? I'd give serious thought to leting the same team try to build on this result against Stoke. I certainly wouldn't be looking to bring Dunn back in that's for sure.
riggers77 Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Credit to to mr kean and the team, it doesnt put right the last 12 months but I am big enough to say well done.
Derbyshire Blue Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 [quote name='Tom M Morris was an odd and bad sub and we were suicidal at times but we got away with it today and it feels great. Thought he played great down the left when he came on
Backroom Tom Posted December 31, 2011 Backroom Posted December 31, 2011 [quote name='Tom M Morris was an odd and bad sub and we were suicidal at times but we got away with it today and it feels great. Thought he played great down the left when he came on I thought he lost the ball every time he got it but it doen't matter today tbh
yeti-dog Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 I'd put Dunn in for Pedersen! Not much of a choice if it's either/or. It's like being asked whether you want to be executed by firing squad or electric chair! I'd probably just about stick with Pedersen and only because he can run a bit more than Dunn.
colin Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Just a quicky for those having a go at MGP, don't forget that he's been playing at left back where he has never played before.
rovers11 Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 peds is worth playing for his set pieces. We score so many from them.
Backroom Tom Posted December 31, 2011 Backroom Posted December 31, 2011 Just a quicky for those having a go at MGP, don't forget that he's been playing at left back where he has never played before. Not today he wasn't though. I'm a Pedersen fan but he was badly at fault for their second. Good delivery for the third though, evens it out
brian_gallagher85 Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 I don't think he did too bad today either, thankfully Kean didn't replace Yakubu with Goodwille. He does at least appear to be learning....at a snails pace though tbh.
Bluefudge Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 What is Mr Roberts on about on radio 5. Couldn't play today due to contractual issues ?
Amo Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 peds is worth playing for his set pieces. We score so many from them. PLAYED 14 ASSISTS 1
