Hanks
Songs from a room was one of the first albums I ever had and used to play it endlessly, I saw him a few times in concert and despite His (undeserved) reputation for being miserable he was anything but live and was always humorous. He wrote a moving letter to Marianne Ihlen about whom he wrote the song So Long Marianne, just before her death in July. It would seem he knew he did not have long himself, Link here https://www.theguardian.com/music/2016/aug/07/so-long-marianne-leonard-cohen-writes-to-muse-just-before-her-death Good article here as well :- http://www.irishtimes.com/culture/music/leonard-cohen-the-key-songs-and-what-they-mean-1.2864114 So long Leonard, the world was a better place with you in it. This must all be so; the local station was playing some of his songs shortly after he passed away and I immediately thought it was very good. Quite a description!
