Also Dennis, allegedly on Β£20k p.w.

But we've no money for Brittain/ Travis/ Dolan/Tronstad etc.

Absolute insanity.

Our 5 best players last year imo were Baath, Dolan, Tronstad, Travis and Brittain.(in no particular order).

We've already lost 3 of them!Β

Β

PS--would have included Beck in a top 6 but obviously he was always a one season job.

Ive never said they won't do πŸ˜‚I was genuinely asking a question. Is it normal for clubs to try again in a few weeks? It's just you don't see it happen very often, I wonder if we'll hold out or move on.Β

Oh, sorry, you want a serious discussion and aren’t part of the β€˜smoke and mirrors’ conspiracy nutters gang. My apologies.

So he’s a tweet from seemingly the only ITK out there. This was tweeted before Nixon reported it today.Β

The guy failed a medical so no point in arguing he isn't coming we're losing the RWB so they need to get out there and find another.

No point dilly dallying around waiting to scan the old injury again in a few months then he effs off to Scotland.

It's over lets move on.

The whole team collapsed and we nearly got relegated by the same manager who nearly got us into the play offs the year before. Correct.

Again you confuse causation and correlation.Β
Β

Β

Right. Keep telling yourself that Hyam is a good, reliable player when played to his strengths or have a head coach/ manager that suits him. I don't see Derby and Eustace bidding for him if he's so highly regarded and only has a year left on his contract?Β

And as Tommy has helpfully reminded us - there's still a good proportion of the window yet still to go!

You’re no better pinning it on Carter. He’s another you needlessly criticise. He’s a good player who invariably performs well.Β

Im not pinning it on Carter.

I am saying that the opinion people hold of them isnt representative of their performances.

Both are good Championship defenders on their day and did well together in the 2022/23 season when together.Β

But in the last 2 seasons, Carter has had 0 good seasons, punctuated by injury, Hyam has had one. They were both poor in the season we nearly went down.Β

Hyam doing well last season doesnt seem to have regained any confidence or favour in many fans eyes though and he hasnt had much credit for it. In fact, it seems to have strengthened the view that he is dispensable.

Really? I would argue that season 23/24, when he got the captain's armband for the second half of that season, was an absolute disaster with us shipping 74 goals and nearly got relegated.Β

Yes I agree he was poor that season. Everyone was bar Smzodics really. Hence why I said he was very good in 2 and poor in the middle one.

Club have said they aren't replacing Batth.Β

I thought they'd said they weren't looking to bring in two CBs, just one. Assuming that's why they've been trying for Kapuadi from Legia Warsaw...? Would he (or someone else) not essentially be Batth's replacement?

Need another Rb for sure. But can’t see us paying a fee for two in same window. Loan might be an option. Plenty of option available out there from relegated clubs. Mumba would be a great option if we were to pay a fee

Β all our RBs are untested kids. I would hope we are signing someone to replace Brittain.Β

Don’t see many in for tronstad in his last year of contract? Does that mean he’s poor?

Jackson’s comments when deal stalled suggested that something should be done over next few days. Would that mean renegotiating fee and clauses. More tests to see how long till it heals or probabilities of it getting worse.Β The safe bet would be to get a specialist opinion which could take a few days depending where they are based. Should here more in next few days but it didn’t sound completely dead

Surely all of those things are on hand when you're performing a medical?

What's the consensus on who this person is?

Reads like an unofficial PR feed for the Club.

Club "paying a sizeable fee" err....no we aren't.

You would think so. But a second opinion would be the sensible thing to do.

Definitely need more experience in the team. My choice would be Perry NG but at 29 I don’t think he would even be thought of

We supposedly needed a cover right back and this new lad was billed as that. Nominal fee, one to develop.

So if we cant pay a fee for another one having sold Brittain then theres something up.

Of course not. Tronstad have also stated that he wants to stay which might detract others from bidding for him. I'm trying to make the case that Hyam won't be as expensive having a year left if he's now seen as a 'consistent and reliable' defender.Β

Brittain not long ago said he wanted to stay too

and no you said if hyam was that good why hasn’t there been bids for him considering he’s in his last yearΒ

Worst part is we are probably losing all of them.

If we do actually sign Baradji (dubious at this point) we very likely are paying a sizeable fee by our standards. Unlike the others, in excess of 2 mill probably is his going rate. Richer clubs have been sniffing previously.
