So, if he played a minute in the cup, then played the full match at the weekend in the league, we would only get the points from him making his debut in the cup? This is honestly such a stupid system they've put together ๐Ÿ˜‚ย

(I know the minutes are irrelevant btw, just emphasising how silly it is)

No, the points are only awarded for a league debut.

Any minutes in the cup are irrelevant.

Thank you.

Do we think Elliott has been reading again or is it just a coincidence heโ€™s just written this piece?

I maintain heโ€™s wrong about the Japanese player btw - I think heโ€™d need to be an ESC but not because he played yesterday.ย

ย

Or we could just go to the appeals board. I'd be surprised if we couldn't get it through, for reasons I outlined in more detail 2 pages back.

I'm certain he's been reading, or somebody has fed the notion back to him who has been reading here. He isn't a good enough journalist to think of it himself and look into the regs thoroughly.

So even though he would have already made his senior debut for us, he could make it again in a sense, in the league? That's a bit better. This whole thing also means we can sign anyone under (what age?) play them off the bench for a minute in the league and automatically qualify them. Silly stuff. The only limit is how many slots we have free at the time to do so.

Thank you.

I would say a better way would be to pick Travis for the Bradford game, and seeย  if he plays and cup ties himself.ย

Yes, I mentioned heโ€™d be an exception panels case yesterday but omitted to do so this time - my mistake.

Iโ€™m not sure whether heโ€™d get through that way as the regulations are very subjective on this - all they say is it must be demonstrated that the player only failed to get to 15 points because of โ€˜exceptional circumstancesโ€™.

Thereโ€™s also the ยฃ5,000 + VAT fee the club would need to pay (up front) which needs to be considered - would Pasha sign off on that????

Yep (for as long as weโ€™re in The Championship).

I guess the idea is to reward clubโ€™s for giving youth a chance - but youโ€™d have thought theyโ€™d have set that chance a bit higher than a minute!

Youth player for this season is anyone born on or before 1st January 2004.

EXCLUSIVE my ass

The following summer the club rejected a bid from Millwall for Travis before a short-term loan deal in 2024 saw him help Ipswich Town return to the Premier League for the first time in over two decades.

Any news seems to have fizzled out on Miyoshi

However, after coming on as a half-time substitute in a 2-0 win over Elversberg on Sunday, Miyoshi now doesn't meet the criteria for a GBE work permit. As he's appeared in the 2.Bundesliga, a band four league, his points are weighted in that division, meaning he doesn't qualify.

What makes this โ€˜journalistโ€™ think Travis could sign a pre contract agreement with Derby in January?

Im not a stickler for the regs and even I know it only applies if he were to move abroad.

Mafoumbi isn't selectable for a matchday squad because heโ€™s not registered. To move him from an ESC slot to a GBE the club have to first update their squad registration with the EFL before he meets matchday eligibility rules.

We need the slot back so it's good for us to do this, but think of the lad. Comes in as an 'exceptional talent', doesn't get played, doesn't get registered then gets made a humiliating laughing stock appearance as an injury time sub to enable the paperwork for someone else to join.

Pretty ruthless to do that to the kid. I'd cringe for him as he walked onto the pitch. ย Could have been planned better IMHO

Out of all the players Id say Travis is the one whose commitment is never in question.

Amazing that all we had to do was give Mafoumbi 30 seconds of league action last season and we could have converted him to a GBE slot this summer.

Sums up the incompetence at the football club. Similar to what cost them a lot of money on Ash Phillips, as I understand it, a few more games and contract extension or higher exit clause.

John Yeboah is being touted around again, think we had some interest in him last year...Still 3 years on his contract but looks and exciting prospect...Doubt there's much in it.

He should never have been signed in the first place. First professional contract with a foreign club at 19? Nothing suggested that he was an 'exceptional talent' just by looking at those facts. We got him because he was cheap but now the club has realised they made a mistake.

Is that really any worse for him than him not being registered, not being selected and continuing not to be involved in any capacity whatsoever?

Edit: If the Club really dont think he's worth even a tiny punt then surely the only sensible option is to pay his contract up.

Any relation to Tony Yeboah, one of my all time goalscoring heroes?

I'm guessing John Yeboah wouldn't need a ESC spot due to International Caps.

Does seem to be out of favour with Venezia as well...Fits the type of player we should be looking at, can play as a number 10 also.

Might be expensive though, 3 years left on his contract unless there is some kind of relegation release clause in there.

Any credible links to him other than someone sat in their bedroom posting links on X?

An Autopass would be having played 60%+ minutes of the relevant international games* over the previous 24 months.ย

* This excludesย friendlies unless less than 30% of that countries games (over that period) were competitive ones.
