I don't get it either, it just seems certain players become scape goats for one reason or another. It's happened to players like Brittain and Travis in the past so make of that what you will.

All this stuff about Hyam being "soft" and no heart quite frankly baffles me. He's been a good signing and a good servant

The proof of the pudding will be in the eating. And I'm firmly in the camp that has us getting devoured on a regular basis by sides who have got their shit together in this league (which is an a1 prerequisite that Rudy and Shaiky seem to have completely overlooked).

We are a development club nothing more and Hyam came and improved as the seasons went on so now in typical fashion someone else will benefit from his peak years for a few million quid,

Not being prepared to give good centre defenders a good contract because they are in their 30's or pushing it just shows how clueless and out of touch the people running this club are.

You'd still recoup that Hyam fee for a good CD aged 31+.

We are. We buy for low and sell for high and anyone who wants over 10K a week will be sold and will buy players on low wages and sell all assets. no direction just plodding along and being slowly (quickly) being torn apart

I did read it I put in his record to show you were correct his injury record is great his disciplinary record is great too

then below that I put in his player of the year award with two 7th place finishes as our most trusted/played centre back over his time here. Bog standard I think not he’s no vvd but he’s got great qualities beyond what you have suggested

Ok, thanks for clarifying that he's got a good injury and disciplinary record. I mean, I kind of knew that, that's why I said it, but regardless.

You keep saying "two 7th place finishes" as though it proves something about how good he is. Well even if it did, 7th isn't exactly far above mid table anyway, and want to know what his average finish in the championship is? 12th. Out of 24.

He's been available all summer for a modest fee on modest wages and he's gone to a club that will probably finish mid table. Sheff United have been pretty desperate for a CB all summer and I bet they didn't even consider him.

We could do with a decent enough CB who is always available. We had one, we seemingly couldn't afford to offer him the going rate of pay, so he's gone. It's bad business, but don't kid yourself into thinking he was great, even for this shit league.
