Mine was Blackburn Rovers Vs QPR, 26th November 1994 in the premier league. Shearer hat-trick in a 4-0 win.

On a side note my first time attending an England match was a 5-0 win for England with a Kane hat-trick

John Waddington could also play as a striker. He played mainly in that position coming through school particularly St Mary's College. If my memory serves he was signed as a striker for Liverpool (scouted by local scout Fred O'Donoghue).

Yes I think you’re right about that however he soon reverted to the position he played most of his career in at centre half. Terry Eccles was another one that played in both positions.

I wasn’t at the Fulham game but we could have played an embryonic wing back line up with Hird and Bailey as wing backs and Faz, Keeley and Hawkins as the three centre backs. I wouldn’t mind that back 5 playing for us today !

Didn't Don Martin play both positions too (perhaps not for us but Northampton)? Colin Hendry was another who was quite versatile and who can forget Chris Samba creating havoc against Spurs.

I'm sure I read that Mike England could play both roles too.

Yeah The Don played at the back also. He was class act, he could play anywhere. All those players you named played at both ends of the pitch. The one player who looked completely at ease in both positions was Paul Warhurst. He really could play anywhere at top level.

I was first taken to Ewood by my dad, uncle and older cousin in 1961 aged 11. We always walked from my aunties house on Copperfield St. Historically they always stood in the Blackburn End by the Nuttall St. corner flag. 

I haven’t a clue which game I saw but my first memory of a game was in 1962 against the newly promoted Liverpool. We won 1-0 with a late goal from Duggie. What a great team we had in those years, probably the greatest in my book, but I always wanted to see the players from the opposition that I read about in Charles Buchan’s Football Monthly. 
I can remember Ronnie Moran playing for Liverpool as well as Ian St. John and Roger Hunt. Their keeper was Jim Furnell.

WBA v Blackburn 21st March 1987.

We won 1-0, I think Alan Ainscow scored after we missed a penalty (Simon Barker brought down in the box).

My Dad was a WBA fan, so took me for my first match.  I was very confused why everyone cheered us missing a penalty - we were sat in the WBA end and I hadn't appreciated not everyone would support Rovers!  Next time we came (Sept 1989) I wore my Rovers shirt so Dad had to take me in the away end!  (Where Colin Hendry was sat in the stands as he was due to join Chelsea the following day (which then changed to Man City) - all the fans were ignoring him, so my Dad said go up and ask for an autograph and he was really nice).
