I still hold out a feint hope for Henriksson

Think if we hold on to him, he will be an excellent goalscoring midfielder in League 1 in a year or 2, and will kick on from there 😉

There's a player in Henriksson. Unfortunately he's behind Cantwell and Morishita in that #10 role at the moment. He needs more game time.

Understand Rovers trying to land Alebiosu Mark 2.  Whether as back-up or replacement remains to be seen - the target is Daniel Oyegoke.

he`s not up to this level of football, val can`t put him on the pitch because he`s a walking yellow card,in the fact he runs around like a lunatic fouling everyone because thought wise,he`s a yard behind the speed of the game,it`s a damning indicement of him that sidnei and deneve have received more game time than him and those two ar`nt good enough either,we need to offload all three imo

LOL if you think we spent £4.3m on Tavares, De Neve and Henriksson.

Considering the edit is in the post you quoted, this is a baffling response.

They play different positions - he can't really come on for the same players Tavares and De Neve can come on for. Tavares has one highlight in 4 months of football - a lovely interception and assist for an Ohashi goal. That's very worrying and I can't see him being here much longer.

Maybe he is terrible, but I've seen enough to give him a longer leash. Granted Baradji looks significantly better already (and can play multiple positions in Midfield).

Based on his cameo against Millwall and what i have seen earlier i wonder if shifting him to being a "back to goal" striker might be the answer. I agree he seems to have some playing ability but is way off being abel to play the "10" role in the championship (imo of course)

That's like "Alebiosu, he has been good" lets get someone of exactly the same profile"

English

right back/wing back

of Nigerian dissent

came through Arsenal academy

had 6 months playing for Hearts in Scotland last season

playing on the continent

cheap (he has only played 8 times in his year at Verona, and only three times this season)

Scarily uncanny

It was wrong, yes, and I'd admitted that I got mixed up with something else. My apologies.

Think we'd be fortunate for lightning to strike twice. Alebiosu has been a revelation but I expect another cheap punt will end up closer to the Tavares/De Neve/Henriksson category.

Be interesting to see where O'Riordon fits into all that now.

On the bench, as Millers deputy.  Litherland has done more than enough to keep his place at wing back whilst Alebiosu is away

I wasn't suggesting for one second he will be anything like as successful as Alebiosu, just a long list of similarities, most of which have next to no impact on his ability

Maybe that's "the data" these days 😉

Lets hope it's the future formula for more positions.

I would say we need 4-5 signings this window:

- 1 center back to cover for the two who's currently injured (Carter, Wharton). O'Riordan will be recalled but I would still go for another one on a permanent.

- 2 wing backs, one to compete for Hedges' position and the other to provide cover for Alebiosu. Litherland did well on his debut but it's still too early to make a call and rely on him as backup.

- 1 central midfielder, preferably a box-to-box type

- 1 striker to compete with Gudjohnsen / Ohashi

Offload: Gueye (almost a certainty by now), De Neve (loan or permanent), Tavares (loan or permanent)

Left wing back, central midfielder and striker are key areas. If we get those three right, then we might have a team capable of picking up points and wins on a more consistent level.

Some other notes:

Great to see academy players taking their chances and show their worth. Pratt and Atcheson looks very physical and capable of handling Championship football in that sense. Litherland at right wing back was a surprise package vs Millwall and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. Montgomery looked out of depth early in the season but made some decent progress before getting injured. Too bad about Tyjon's contractual situation as he's talented, would've liked to see him go out on loan to a L1 or L2 side to gain valuable experience.

Our summer recruitment has really been a hit & miss so far. De Neve and Tavares biggest disappointments while Alebiosu has been our best player this season. Think Baradji will be really good as a powerful box-to-box midfielder once fully match fit.

Really?

At the moment, we have Tronstad sitting with Cantwell & Morishita either side of him, Baradji looks like he will eventually be pushing for a start as one of those a bit further forwards too.  Yet nobody capable of filling in for Tronstad, barring Forshaw, who has to have 2 months off if he plays 2 games in a week

Central midfielder needed, but a back up (and eventual replacement due to penny pinching) for Tronstad is what is required
