Even if we can only sign 3 or 4, left wing back has to be one of those.

both wing backs, if we lose Alebiosu to injury or sale, we really are up the creek.  He is already unavailable for a month during AFCON  as it is

Valerian Ismael is a walk-in contradiction, he put Tyjon on the bench? 😂

Yeah we should have known that half the first team squad would go missing for weeks on end.

If you break it down, its not a hard luck story.

We need 2 strikers. We have 3, one in Gudjohnsen has an injury for a month. It hardly should be a knockout blow and it came after being overplayed. We have a striker in Gueye signed by Gestede who is so bad he cant make the squad. We also have changed formation. These reasons are the main ones we are so short up top, not injuries.

We need a central defender. The main reason is that we shoved Hyam out the door without replacement. Carter and Wharton's injuries were totally predictable.

We need a left wing back. Yes the Hedges injury is unfortunate, but if De Neve was decent and not such an embarassment, it wouldnt be such a urgent issue.

We need a right wing back, perhaps mainly due to the formation change although Miller isnt good enough to cover.

Tavares, Kargbo and Forshaw are injured. Adds to the numbers to help the woe is me act, are any being missed?

Morishita is a miss but its only for a month and in a position where its not a critical blow.

Most of those players would be handy to have on the bench instead of kids who’ve never played.

Well see!

I think it’s quite likely to happen but clearly wasn’t a done deal already given he was used today

It is a done deal. Birmingham wanted him to make up numbers in defence. I even put a post up on twitter saying that he will be recalled after the Birmingham game which I was told yesterday at 7pm.

This will just be a standard January in the land of Venky Rovers.

Despite all the bravado back in the summer about not going down the loan route any more due to value blah blah blah that is precisely what we will do, because the summer's activity and wage commitments have cleared out the cupboards which are now close to being bare.

We will not go to the owners and request additional funds for decent signings because that isn't allowed here. Cast your minds back to Mowbray's days when he and Waggott were publicly thanking the owners for allowing us to add to the budget to bring in the loans of Harwood Bellis and Branthwaite. That's where we are at.

Pasha will be allowed to commit to a manageable transfer fee or two on an investment signing, like the Barnsley lad, but only if for some reason they agree to let him go for a knock down fee. If they stick to their valuation we ain't getting him.

So with no/very little cash left and a maxed out wage bill, it will be loans and try to move out people like Pickering and Gueye to save on wages.

The league table won't be a factor here.

In terms of strikers, we went into the season with two strikers effectively, given he had sent Gueye to Coventry.

Not enough and it was entirely foreseeable one might get injured at some point.

Kids who've never played have actually been the standout performers for me.

Just a thought, but remembering Baradji is only on loan (with an option I think), shouldn't we be trying to sort that out this window as well ?

Otherwise I can see it getting to Summer, us pissing about ad usual and missing out on him

We have an option to buy him, his fee is fixed and I fully expect him to be here permanent next season

Litherland, Pratt, Aitchison are inexperienced at our level but they aren’t exactly kids. Diamani, Powell, Doherty, Tyjon really are kids. Then you have Litherland out now for 8 weeks because too much was asked of him too soon. Ditto Montgomery who has only just returned to the bench.

Despite all the "woe is me" stuff emanating from the Head Coach about injuries/refs etc nothing whatsoever has happened at the Club this season that wasn't entirely self inflicted. (imo)

Given he'd fallen out with Gueye we went into the season 2 strikers light imo.

In midfield we signed either a barrowful of shite or a player who was injured and who is only now approaching full fitness.

In defence we sold Hyam in the last few hours of the window without a replacement.

100% self inflicted.

Don't kid yourself.

If he is half decent other clubs will be in for him and he will not be here next season.

Think Ewood is the home for the unwanted and desperados.

number 1 priority this week has to be striker in. We can't play Ohashi at Hull in the cup. He needs a rest.

So you'll be annoyed / angry if by Sunday next week we haven't signed a striker?

Don't think that's possible according to someone the other day

The club are clearly pushing that narrative.

We have a number of urgent priorities.

Ismael said a week or 2 ago about our business being done by Hull. Lets see.

Rovers will have to be willing to pay the fee which is far from a given based on past history and realistically the player will also need to be happy to come here.
