Talking gibberish. Lost revenue from PL TV rights has been enormous

If we had simply maintained our position from the day Venkys bought us until now we would have an additional 460m land in the bank. That’s a matter of fact

That's my point but that's hasn't affect the owners decisions maker.

The Walker Family could held on until the TV rights and used that money

Of course it has impacted them

It has meant half a billion less revenue, which has meant a decreased on pitch product and over a decade of mismanagement, culminating in some very embarrassing moments for Rovers

During that time, a certain few people have continued to pocket 6 figure yearly salaries. It pays well to manage a decline

Well it hasn't impact them enough to sell the club has it. That's my point

The Walker Family was at war with each and against their advisors in the High Court. Rovers were just a cash absorbing chattel to the family members. Some Trustees. John Williams and Tom Finn were absolute heroes in those sad circumstances but any concept of strategic thinking and planning was totally binned in those black days.

why would it embarrass them? Yesterday the Hospitality was sold out and the more walk on fans came to the game. Shame it was such a poor performance

Oh well hospitality sold out......that makes everything ok then.

If they carry on that will be the only part of the ground opening then.

How many of those walk ons were there to see Disney team? How many walk ons will be there on Sunday? The 10 season ticket holders I go with, there are 3 actually committed to going as the other 7 yesterday was the final straw.

Well me and the 2 I go with will be there on Sunday and I'm taking my parents to the game, so hopefully its a win for them.

Evidently not. But what’s the overall point you’re making - that everything is futile and nobody should try?

If that’s your angle, then it’s a sad angle. It is a view of defeatism. Resigning yourself to the thought that Venkys will never be impacted enough to sell must be tough. You have seen first hand what 15 years has done to Rovers. Now imagine another 15. It is not outside of the realms of possibility that Rovers cease to be a Championship club at that point. We may be in this position, but in League 1. The general trajectory of BRFC tells you that is where we are heading

I think 15 more years of them and we will be far lower than League 1.

Interesting...

This issue comes up a lot in our house. How have Venky's got away without a complete revolt in the fanbase?

After the initial bout of destruction, I think the slow, lingering glacial pace of the downgrading is a key factor here...

Also, there is a problematic (to me)reaction in a proportion of the remaining fanbase, which combines defeatism, fatalism, Stockholm syndrome...and ingrained denial.

I can only speak for myself but I have over the last 10 years especially distanced myself from the club incrementally.

From being a Season ticket holder (whilst living in London I would add…), plus c.10 away games per season & about £250 club shop spend each year; is now about 4 home games, 3 or 4 away games & zero spend in club shop.

In that time a whole new generation of Rovers support has emerged that knows nothing other than the Venky’s, so the proportion of older fans who know what is possible & is angry/frustrated is dwindling each season.

I now fear when reading other sites that I am in the minority in wanting change but TBH I’m now so weary with it, I wont do anything beyond rant on podcasts & radio programmes when given a chance.

I fear I am numb to it as a coping strategy.

You echo the sentiments of many Ian.Sorry to keep making the same point but this is a Club I dont recognise in its present state anymore.Cold and distant,Its almost lost its connection with the fanbase.

• I hate the Owners.

• Can't stand the Charlatans running the Club at Ewood.

• Have no like for this Manager and feel no empathy with any of these awful Players in our Shirt.

The full Monty, what a position to be in,its really that bad...will the last one out turn the Ewood lights off please.

It's called Venky fatigue.

Nothing a good protest and change of ownership won't fix
