That's what Rio was talking about by saying Premiership footballers have made sacrifices. They knew that if they didn't "make it", they would probably end up in a dead end job on very little money.

Yes, because had it not been for his dedication to football Ferdinand would have been a prominent academic. I won't comment on Corbett as I've never heard him talk or know anything about him, but most footballers are pretty think and rather than sacrificing anything football offers them the opportunity to escape an otherwise pretty dull and unproductive lives. I'm not saying they don't have to work hard for it and take some risks in pursuing it, but no more so than anyone does with any profession.

Former Academy player Pete McCann has moved from Glentoran to Lisburn Distillery in the Irish League.

He wasn't getting enough games with the Glens, so he's now playing for Distillery, who are still just inside the top half of the Carnegie Irish Premier League. Peter is now currently studying Sports Science at Bangor.

To be fair to Corbett, I was a little vague with my description of what he's up to. I understand that he is concentrating on training to be a pharmacist now rather than simply working as a shop assistant at Boots.

Maybe they'd just end up something like the rest of us who aren't pro footballers .....a bit of all sorts ; rich , poor , happy , unhappy etc...

Add Derek Dougan to deceased.

I'd actually forgot that Djorkaeff played for us. Shame on me!

Thanks. Removed Dario Marcolin.

However this list is for players and staff since 1995 as we could get too far embroiled into it.

Not trying to be pedantic, but that should rule Ossie Ardilles out too.
