  1. Big Sam is barely coherent these days, albeit he never really was. Nice to hear him call out Venkys a small bit though - and he certainly has his reasons
  2. The day off segment was comical. Talk about being happy just plodding along in lower leagues. (Not Sammie but the fact he said certain players hated it) “If you beat Sheffield Wednesday you’re off until Thursday and it was all the motivation we wanted” - then they turn up with that performance 😂
  3. Also one that’ll interest us all….. Sammie Szmodics on one with Big Sam. Talks really well, and positive about JDT The ‘day off’ segment is laughable. Confirms what we all assumed, lazy spineless gits, happy plodding along in the Championship (or league one) ”if you beat Sheffield Wednesday you’re off until Thursday and it’s the motivation we need” hahaha clearly not!
  4. “I hold a unique skill set that most other sports administrators have not been able to…” Thought it was going to be a quote from Liam Neeson in Taken at first.
  5. Listened to this on the way to work this morning. I think Warnock won player of the year one year? Solid Rovers player in a decent era. Liked the bit about his mates being fans and being in the Blackburn End. Worth noting, ex-players, particularly in that era, always speak so highly about the club. The people involved behind the scenes, the way it was run, the quality of the environment, but mainly the people who worked there. Bellamy, Bentley, Pedersen, McCarthy, Friedal, Nelsen, they always bang on about how good the club and the people who worked there are.
  6. It was taken from Squawka. No shame from some trying to bluff things as their own for ‘likes’
  7. Bad knee injury - set to be out for the majority of next season. Which is why CB has to be near the top of the list as we can’t be relying on rubber dinghy captain Hyam
  8. I'm amazed he's gone too, but will wait to see the replacement before judging i.e. if they went and got Cooper would it still be viewed as bad. Rosenior will walk into another Championship job though. To miss out on playoffs with a squad with Carvalho, Zaroury, Philogene, Seri, Tufan, Delap, Twine. I'd imagine they've got to rebuild a bit next year as a lot of the above players were loans, and i'd be surprised if Philogene doesn't step up to the Prem too.
  9. 74 goals against and the slowest defence since WW2 says otherwise
  10. Szmodics, Hyam, Brittain, Wahlstedt, O'Riordan, Fleck, Tronstad, Sigurdsson, McFadzean, Ennis, Telalovic (11 permanent signings) Thomas, Morton, Hirst, Mola, Ayari, Chrisene, Koumetio, Hill, Moran (9 loan signings) So 20 incomings under Broughton, whether they're all his doing or not is debatable, I'm counting 2 clear successes in Szmodics and Tronstad, against 8 clear flops in Wahlstedt, Fleck, Ennis, Telalovic, Hirst, Mola, Ayari, Koumetio) and the remaining 10 certainly didn't improve on our outgoings. Poor strike rate regardless of having both hands tied behind his back.
  11. After 18 games, 2 points out of the playoffs, just battered Birmingham 4-2 and heading to bottom of the table Sheffield Wednesday next who had 7 points from 18 games.... We then went on to win 2 of our next 21 matches (1 of 11 under JDT, 1 of 1 under Johnson and 0 of 9 under Eustace)
  12. I'd take Nyambe and Lenhian every day and twice at 3pm on Saturday thank you very much.
  13. Hello relegation. Bring in £40m+ over 12 months and spend what £5m with the above plus the £1.5m spent on Wahlsted and O'Riordan over that same period? It certainly sounds like the Venkys and Waggott Rovers we know I guess.
  14. Assuming Wharton is out for the season, Szmodics is sold and only allowing 3 signings as the original post states: New Brittain Carter New Pickering Travis Tronstad JRC Dolan New Hedges Clearly, we need more than 3 new signings though, and if we had any ounce of ambition (clearly not going to be the case): New New Carter New Pickering Tronstad JRC New New Hedges New Bench: Pears, Brittain, O'Riordan, Travis, Dolan, Gilsenan, Leonard Sell: Wahlsted, Hyam, Buckley, Gallagher, Markanday, Telalovic, unfortunately Szmodics Loan: Garrett
  15. The Labore in Arte et Labore goes a long way with us Rovers fans, and as many have posted this is why I'll remember him fondly. Needless to say, we saw a ridiculous amount of 'Arte' too, especially this season, which is why he'll be moving up the leagues this summer. I think it really started to kick into gear for him in the Sheffield United Cup QF away. Scored a lovely goal in front of us and never really looked back after that.
  16. Squad difference for the opener next season vs the final game of last season (Millwall away) where we finished outside the playoffs on GD (essentially 1 full season time period): OUT: Wharton, Kaminski, Phillips, Ennis, Diaz, Dack, Ayala, Edun and likely Szmodics IN: Wahlstedt, O'Riordan, Sigurdsson, Tronstad, Telalovic (McFadzean and Fleck would need new contracts for next season). That is some horrendous business whichever way you spin it. We have spent under £2m and we have recouped almost £30m (when we add in the Raya money too), and likely £40m+ when we sell Szmodics this summer. Likely £40m+ income from transfer sales from Summer 2023 to Summer 2024. It's now or never for investment into this club, both in the form of players and affordability for match day fans. It's also now or never for our fans with their head in the sand re: Venkys to wake up, once we reinvest about a fiver of this total.
  17. I also think this is potentially the silent alarm to why we absolutely tanked from Christmas onwards. Waggott rubbed his hands together despite selling to the first bidder for below market price as it’ll look good to Venkys who haven’t got a scooby. But that decision almost cost us our championship place as it’s no coincidence we looked absolutely dire since he left, creating feck all.
  18. Tell me about it!!!! Same on all socials. Seeing lots of Carrick / Wilshere comparisons. Fair play to the Palace recruitment team, they’ve done some spot-on business recently. Happy for Adam almost as much as livid at Waggot and the clowns. Hope Southgate is at least watching to see who the real pivot next to Rice should be this summer.
  19. Boy this is depressing. Fair play to Adam, absolutely dominating and will be getting his first England cap soon I’d imagine
  20. In order of priority, and assuming Szmodics is sold and Wharton misses the whole season GK, ST, CB, CAM, Winger, Full Back
  21. Words can’t describe what Sammie did for us this season, and today he was his usual superb self, both goals superb, the second had a touch of the Vardys about it, celebrating before it was in. Pickering, Tronstadt and McFadz I also thought were excellent today. Brittain and Gallagher weak links on our right hand side but not worth going into that when we’re on such a high. Delighted that ‘big club’ have dropped VENKYS OUT
