  1. So nothing to do with Johnson as a false 9, Gallagher as a winger and Giles on the wrong side then. Or the fact that he's had every other team he's managed crashing from decent positions since he became a football manager. Alright. Preston aren't £150m in debt so aligning the clubs (never mind our) expectations would be naive at best, stupid at worst? Would be interested in your answers for that one. Your post highlights the short sighted nature of many fans regarding business aspects of the club. They just turn up (or don't) for a day out thinking the club can sustain turning the lights on year after year whilst plodding along.
  2. They don't want to pay him the mammoth amount of two months compensation.
  3. I'd say we look leaderless but we actually play better when TM sits down.
  4. Please leave Tony and allow some fresh ideas into the club. Preferably ones that don't include Gallagher on the wing, Bradley Johnson as a false 9 and playing without goalscorers.
  5. Formation wise, looks a mess to me. Too many players looking like they haven't a clue what they are supposed to be doing. Which is a bit of a Mowbray trademark.
  6. I didn't know that. Looks like they changed the ref for someone from Sheffield.
  7. Yep, but after Preston we seem to have reverted back to every other game over the last 3 months.
  8. After all the discussion about the referee's bias before the match, I think we can confirm that the mother******* **** **** son of a ***** ****** is indeed biased.
  9. The way Rovers are set up seems all wrong.
  10. Sums up the season. So near.
  11. It's not happening, just enjoy the last games. Disappointing though it is.
  12. We're being very casual with the ball. There's only Van Hecke willing to lump it away.
  13. If Carlsberg did Burnley recruitment.
  14. Wrongly disallowed goal - check. Soft sending off - check. Blind eye to foul in build up to their goal - check.
  15. What the flock?! http://houseofflock.co.uk/what-is-flocking/
  16. Benitez would want a decent transfer fund I imagine.
  17. He's only had 2 seasons vs TM's 5. Partway through one of those seasons covid came along which can't have helped. That said I'm remembering the great job he did at Brentford. Perhaps he's a one club wonder. QPR fans seem to have mixed feelings on it. Some think he did a good job but they need someone else to get them promoted, some think he wasn't backed to bring in the players he needed and it was the wrong decision. He's certainly lost more than he's won there but not by much. Would I prefer him over the HSH cast offs? Yes. Would I prefer someone better? Yes. Farke or Bilic.
  18. Come on Gav, they are supporting the club financially. It's the only half decent thing they've done. And so they should, it's them that got us into the financial mess in the first place. They just need to get it into their heads that employing a good manager and supporting them is one of the important things when running a football club. I imagine they are still being advised by people with motives other than bringing in the right manager (£££'s for their clients on the scrapheap).
  19. If I'd made £5m from it I wouldn't care.
  20. Financial fair play 🤣 Should be called, keeping big clubs up.
  21. I don't, I think it's as some of us predicted last Summer when many believed he should have been sacked. They are letting his contract run down because they didn't want to pay out compensation.
  22. No way to treat someone who has given 5 years service + a overseen a promotion from L1. An absolutely crazy way to run a multi million pound business, never mind a football club. TM was obviously uncomfortable with those questions with having two big games coming up, not wanting to unsettle the team more than it already is. That said he doesn't do himself any favours, just as I was developing some sympathy for him he acts like he's doing us all a favour being here. If he'd said he didn't want to comment any more about it he'd have had a lot more respect. No sob stories Tony, you've done well here. Your lad won't be wanting for anything. Enjoy your retirement, it'll be better than any of the people who pay money to watch Rovers week in week out.
  23. He's a step up from Mowbray.
  24. Looking at all 3 of those teams they are as inconsistent as us, so it's unlikely they'll win their last 2. Rovers getting 6 points is the most unlikely though. If we could keep the same team and build on it next year it wouldn't be so disappointing but we all know a rebuilding job will have to be done. In two games time half of the first team is off - three defenders, a midfielder and our top goalscorer (and Khadra). And that doesn't include loanees like Giles, Zeefuick, Poveda who have barely made an impact. We're left with the following (first teamers). Kaminski (G) Wharton (D) Pickering (D) Ayala (D) JRC (D) Buckley (M) Edun (M) Travis (M) Johnson (M) Hedges (W) Markanday (W) Dolan (W) Dack (AM) Gallagher (S)
