  1. and then it will be “well we tried, what else could we do “.
  2. I think with football being a world wide market now - even for lower league clubs, it’s inevitable that it would go that way. However, is football better for it? Well some things don’t change. Bringing players into a club depends on the guy making the decisions actually having an eye for a player. I’m not convinced from what I’ve seen that Gestede is that person.
  3. There’s nothing in that video that would persuade me to take him for free - never mind pay a million for him. The football and in particular the defending looks well below championship standard.
  4. If there was a prize for the most useless set of tossers running a football club this crew would win it hands down.
  5. I doubt there’s anything the fans can do to get rid of these owners. They’ll go when they’re ready to go. At some point they’ll either just get fed up or maybe someone will approach them with the right bid at the right time. We had protests against Steve Kean when stewards were in the crowd fighting with our fans. It made no difference. Kean didn’t get sacked and the owners didn’t change anything. As for fans protests? 15 years of this crap have taken the heart out of them IMO. The small number of ST holders don’t speak with one voice. Some are pulling their hair out at what’s going on while others are just happy to keep going down to the games whatever the situation. Wish it was different.
  6. Waggott waiting and hoping someone might call with a freebie loan. I don’t know what Gestede’s done to earn his money.
  7. If north end win on Friday, they’ll be just 2 points behind us and 95% probability of finishing above us…, again. They were absolutely miles behind us not that long ago. They’re not a brilliant side by any means It happens every year, it’s predictable. Most rovers fans could see it coming. So what does that tell us about how this group of players have been let down, what does it illustrate? It’s amateurish and it’s simply not acceptable.
  8. We’re currently 17 points off the top and 15 points off relegation.
  9. We’re even paying Gestede now, to watch what we’ve been doing for years.
  10. 😀 I don’t know. You may be right. He was really short. Effective though.
  11. I know he was on the short side (I did see him) but 5’2”? Id have thought 5’5 or 5’6.
  12. 26 years old, 5’8” dwarf who’s never done much at all in a shit league. Im not surprised but I should be.
  13. The game has changed so much from the 60’s Jim and not for the better. They can never take those memories away Jim. I always console myself with that.
  14. Coventry were poor, they offered next to nothing. Yet when they got that first goal it was game over. If that doesn’t say how poor we were, I don’t know what would. This isn’t the result of a poor January transfer window IMO, it’s the result of how the club and squad has been run into the ground since 2010 and in particular over the last 12 months. Waggott might say the court case has had no effect on the money available but he’s demonstrably lieing.
  15. I honestly believe the owners don’t plan anything.
  16. The January transfer window is ideally for tinkering around, bringing a bit more cover for injuries or suspensions, allowing fringe players to get some game time elsewhere. What’s galling for me and most of us is that the owners and/or Waggott have left us in the position where it’s just as important and urgent as the summer window. There is seemingly no money and no plans to change that situation. Ever.
  17. Virtually every manager I’ve seen at Ewood for 65yrs+ has moved on. Eustace will definitely move on, it’s just a matter of when he gets a better offer. The way things are it will be sooner rather than later. Why the hell wouldn’t he?
  18. Question to Waggott…. Why does the tens of millions recieved from outgoing transfers, coupled with reinvesting virtually nothing for a long time now point more to receivership than ambition?
  19. I don’t think they helped themselves when they renamed themselves to “we are the rovers”. It just immediately suggests that they exist to support everything the club does.
  20. 12 months since Wharton was sold. How much of that has been reinvested?
  21. and the second half always makes up for it does it?
  22. Teams hoping for promotion can go to places like Oxford and lose, that’s for sure. Teams with hopes of promotion tend not to go and put in abysmal performances though. We’re into the new year and it’s so blindingly obvious that the current group of players need help. We have no ability to cover for injuries or fatigue. What these lads are being asked to do is the impossible and I have absolutely no doubt that they know it also. It’s not fair on them. They’re being let down by the owners and by Waggott. Stop giving us the bullshit Waggott. There’s money available you tell everyone, well prove it and give the manager the help he needs.
  23. No they wont. Not in my opinion they wont. Theyre both playing in a league that’s above their level.
  24. Our needs for a striker have been known for many months. The head of football operations has known for months. Here we are middle of Jan and I do wonder what he’s been doing.
