I think they closed the turnstiles with people locked outside? Might have got that wrong. I went to Old Trafford one year to watch Man U against PNE in an FA cup replay. Must have been the 60’s. Pay at the turnstiles that day. Joined the huge queues and just as we got to the turnstiles they all slammed shut virtually at the same time. Thousands locked outside including me and my mates.

Gueye’s still a crap footballer but he does make people smile. Can’t help but like him. Anyone else remember crap strikers that did that? I can’t.

When was the last time we had a team that could defend as well as these guys do? It’s a long time ago.

Thanks for that Wilsdenrover. Ive been spending a bit of time trying to figure this out. I came to the conclusion that if photos were synced to iCloud, which I thought they were, then they wouldn’t be included in the backups. Anyway, I took the plunge just about 15 minutes ago and deleted backups and turned backups off. I was a bit nervous to be honest because I wasn’t certain what I would lose. Anyway, I did it and from what I can see I still have my photos and so far, everything else. Turned backups back on of course. By doing that, deleting unused apps I now have around 60% free space. That’ll do for now. Thanks for your input.

That’s an expensive way 47er! For me, I know deleting backups will free a huge amount of space but I just want to be sure that I won’t lose anything that I don’t want to lose. I want to know if there are any downsides to doing that.

For you techy guys. My IPad storage is almost full. A huge amount of that space is taken by backups. Is it safe, or indeed should I delete all of my backups? thanks.

To go to Hull in December, play the game in literally gale force winds - well we were never going to play attractive football. It was all about stopping Hull and grinding it out for the whole 90. Every credit to the lads they apparently did just that. What more could we have asked? This is a superb run we’re on. In the circumstances that the manager has had to work with this season, he’s doing brilliantly. So are the players. That’s it in a nutshell for me.

Hyam wasn’t behind the ball when it was played to him, nor were there two opposition players between him and the goal line. He was offside. If If either one of those conditions had been met he’d have been onside.

He was offside. However that was a superb, professional away performance from Rovers. The win in my opinion well deserved. Defensively we were exceptional and every credit to the players and Eustace. On the break we exposed Boro throughout. Good stuff lads.

If the river level was above the top of the drain and the drain was pointing in the same direction as the current, then there would be no restriction to the drain water as long as the pitch were higher than the river. That’s how I see it. More interesting than talking about a postponed game 🙂

I’m not a civil engineer but if the drains were feeding into a fast flowing river in the same direction as the current, the drains wouldn’t back up. The drainage has been great for over 30 years now.

A number of years ago Ewood was one of the worst draining pitches in the country. The river was always blamed for that until it was discovered that the drains into the river were found to be pointing against the current meaning the drainage water would back up. The drains were then altered to allow water from the pitch to fall into the river “with” the rivers flow, rather than against it. The drainage since then has been greatly improved. So for me any postponements are more to do with either the amount of rainfall being just too much, or very possibly the maintenance of the pitch draining system not being what it should be.

You can’t plan football success “long term”, that’s a ridiculous idea. You can plan club development over the long term but that’s completely different. Football wise you just have to go for it every season, every game. Players won’t hang around while the Gestedes’ of this world piss about thinking of tomorrow. It’s the here and now that counts, it’s all that counts in honesty. Planning long term for success on the field is for the hideaways, the cowards.

Even the thought of Venkys leading the search for new owners fills me with dread.

I’ll stick my neck out here. Others might have said what I’m going to do but I don’t remember it, While I hate what Venkys have done - and what they’re still doing, I’m certainly not convinced that there are buyers out there with the funds to improve the situation as it stands. Could things be worse than they are now? Yes they could but please don’t think for one minute that I’m saying they should stay as our owners. I don’t want them here any more than anyone else. It’s difficult to relish a future under owners who can commit no funds whatsoever though.

Would be nice to think we were developing these lads for us to promote to and strengthen the first team, rather than with the only intention of selling them at the first opportunity. Not to reinvest the fees and build the squad in that way but simply to pay the bills. It can’t continue forever.
