  1. Full backs were coached to show them the outside in my day ER. Away from the danger zone.
  2. Would Venkys being found guilty of financial misconduct/tax evasion affect their viability to own an English football club?
  3. So I wonder why the Indian authorities decided to remove the no objection document. Did something change or did Venkys chances of winning their case become a bit bleaker. Also, if they were to lose that case, would they be able to fund the club at all? Pardon my ignorance on this. Maybe I’m well off track here.
  4. Seems I’m in a minority here but I have serious doubts about both Ohashi and Gueye. We’ll know more when they’ve both started a few difficult away games. That’s when to judge a player. If those two do fall short, where would that leave us?
  5. Because he’s been struggling to make an impression?
  6. Waggott has no feelings for the club. No understanding of its history nor any real belief for its future IMO. He’s an imposter and Jack Walker would never have employed him.
  7. I just get that feeling that Rovers are dabbling in markets they know very little about, for players they know probably less about. Linked to the fact that anyone at our end is for sale. Thats how it feels to me. I’ve no confidence in them whatsoever. Would love to think I’m wrong and everything has changed. Doubt it has though.
  8. There are plenty of posters in the LT comments section that are fully behind Venkys recent actions. Many think the sales are good business and look forward to the future with a certain amount of relish. They’re the realists apparently. We’re just one of the smallest clubs in the championship, with the smallest fan base and must live within our means. They don’t see anything beyond that. There really isn’t a problem in their eyes. So when people call for organised protest, don’t forget not everyone would be behind that.
  9. So what exactly attracted you to the freebie unknown Chinese player from the hopeless j league Mr Waggott?
  10. Chaddy. I don’t know how Eustace set up his Birmingham side, but you’ll have great difficulty persuading me that any manager doesn’t want creativity from central midfield. They might not play creative players there because they don’t have any.
  11. You could say that if we were signing a 14 year old park player for goodness sake. Its an opinion on a football forum.
  12. My only thoughts are around the idea that £30m in the bank and there isn’t a better bet between here and this guy for a striker. Really? There isn’t another striker anywhere between here and China? WTF are the club thinking?
  13. So the last player of any real value - and the only goalscorer in the squad is being willlingly sold and replaced by a 26 or 27 year old Japanese player who has no experience in English football whatsoever. A complete and total gamble. That’s the best Waggott and his chums have got. The squad is on its knees both quality wise and numbers wise and this is their answer? What an effing mess.
  14. The new ground being built about 2 miles from me.
  15. It’s obvious now what Venkys are doing but I hadn’t read previously that the staff at Ewood had been told that was the case. Had anyone else?
  16. I’ve no idea who this is or the credibility of this post.
  17. Why? Why do we need to sell absolutely everything or anything with any value? These sales more than keep the lights on surely. When Smodic has gone, who’s going to pay the electricity bill next season? Not a single word from the club. The supporters deserve far better than this. About time those who can, start asking the tough questions. Starting tonight with WATR and the LT.
  18. He might as well model himself on Messi then.
  19. As regards the transfer thread, we once pinned a topic for “links”. No discussion, just links. for those people who don’t want to crawl endlessly through all this - could bringing back that topic help?
  20. When people argue that signing players doesn’t come with guarantees …….. it never did and it never will. However the bottom line to all this is…… Sign second division players, get second division football. If you’re shopping in dodgy leagues you’re far more likely to get duds.
  21. If this guy signs and plays he’ll get all the backing he could ask for. Unless he’s not good enough. That’s how it is at every football club. At the moment fans are more than entitled to question the clubs ambition - or lack of it. They’re more than entitled to question why we are shopping in the market we are after bringing in £20m+ recently. So I’m not quite sure what you’re asking posters on here to do, that they always do. “Back the club” maybe?
  22. Nothing to do with the manager - or any other manager IMO. man for man, position for position Spain had technically superior players, superior footballers than us. Players that understand how to play the game. It’s been that way for 58 years now. We’ve had how many managers in that time? Which manager could have seen us outplay Spain tonight with that squad? I doubt anyone else could. I haven’t got the answer why we are always second best but it’s ingrained somewhere in the development of our players.
