  1. If he’s ambitious I would advise him to move on. Ambition disappeared from these owners a number of seasons ago.
  2. As an outsider who’s had nothing to do with the trust, it just appears that their aims - or reasons to exist have become a little lost. Is that fair? They achieved their initial goal to make Ewood Park an Asset of Community Value (ACV). What next? Any organisation must have a specific purpose. If they are to continue do they not need to reconsider what they stand for now?
  3. The days when the manager told the club which player he wanted seem to be gone, at Ewood at least. It appears that he has no input at all and it’s left to others to go find players who might fit his requirements. Is it exactly like that at all the other clubs. Does the manager not get included in the player search at all. Does Guardiola just sit back and wait for his players to turn up? I doubt it but that seems to be what happens here. If it’s the case that rovers managers have no, or virtually no input into player recruitment then either the system is failing or Gestede and his team is failing. If players are regularly turning up who are nowhere near what the manager requires or are simply below the standard needed, then someone has to take responsibility for this. Of course that must be Waggott. He’s running the show.
  4. Spend hours and hours on YouTube watching videos. Anything and everything that was filmed is on there.
  5. As is Mike Graham who I’ve known for a while but not seen for a long time now.
  6. Watching Gueyes heading ability in this game, especially when he dropped back into our penalty area to help out, he’s not - for our older members- exactly Mike England is he.
  7. Quite clear to me and about 99% of posters on here. This manager and this squad of players is being asked to do far more than is reasonably possible. These guys would have to be supermen to get rovers into the play offs, never mind into the PL. They aren’t that. They’ve (the players and manager) been badly let down AGAIN by those with the ability to help out, going missing. Hiding - making excuses or misleading the fans or anyone who simply wants to know what the hell is going on. Unless these things change there’s no real future.
  8. Like others, this window did highlight one thing. Eustace outlined what he wanted at least a couple of months ago. However we ended up foraging around on the last day of the window looking to bring in players that no one else wanted. Nothing has changed. It’s still an unorganised shitshow.
  9. It’s always better then. We’ll have had time to line up our targets and there will be money available as well.
  10. No they won’t. Not on its own anyway. As shown in recent games the squad is under enormous pressure because it just isn’t strong enough. It’s currently flat out trying to stay in touch. We will need a lot of luck also. One more player won’t make up for all the cheap options we’ve pursued for a long time now.
  11. I’ve given Gueye some stick as well. My view was that he was totally useless. I’ll row back on that a bit after last night. He did things I didn’t think he could do. Some of his hold up play was really good. Can he do this every week? I’m not so sure yet. Is he a natural centre forward? No. Does he have the sharp thinking and finishing skills in and around the box? No, not for me. every credit though, he did well last night for an hour. His fitness needs working on. Top strikers aren’t out on their feet after an hour.
  12. Yeah. I was a centre half when I played all those years ago - and if I’d have done what the North Ender did I would have been expecting the ref to be awarding a pen. There’s no way you can argue that it wasn’t a foul. It was a foul. You just can’t do that anywhere on the pitch.
  13. He ran out of steam Jim but had no one to replace him.
  14. and then it will be “well we tried, what else could we do “.
  15. I think with football being a world wide market now - even for lower league clubs, it’s inevitable that it would go that way. However, is football better for it? Well some things don’t change. Bringing players into a club depends on the guy making the decisions actually having an eye for a player. I’m not convinced from what I’ve seen that Gestede is that person.
  16. There’s nothing in that video that would persuade me to take him for free - never mind pay a million for him. The football and in particular the defending looks well below championship standard.
  17. If there was a prize for the most useless set of tossers running a football club this crew would win it hands down.
  18. I doubt there’s anything the fans can do to get rid of these owners. They’ll go when they’re ready to go. At some point they’ll either just get fed up or maybe someone will approach them with the right bid at the right time. We had protests against Steve Kean when stewards were in the crowd fighting with our fans. It made no difference. Kean didn’t get sacked and the owners didn’t change anything. As for fans protests? 15 years of this crap have taken the heart out of them IMO. The small number of ST holders don’t speak with one voice. Some are pulling their hair out at what’s going on while others are just happy to keep going down to the games whatever the situation. Wish it was different.
  19. Waggott waiting and hoping someone might call with a freebie loan. I don’t know what Gestede’s done to earn his money.
  20. If north end win on Friday, they’ll be just 2 points behind us and 95% probability of finishing above us…, again. They were absolutely miles behind us not that long ago. They’re not a brilliant side by any means It happens every year, it’s predictable. Most rovers fans could see it coming. So what does that tell us about how this group of players have been let down, what does it illustrate? It’s amateurish and it’s simply not acceptable.
  21. We’re currently 17 points off the top and 15 points off relegation.
  22. We’re even paying Gestede now, to watch what we’ve been doing for years.
  23. 😀 I don’t know. You may be right. He was really short. Effective though.
  24. I know he was on the short side (I did see him) but 5’2”? Id have thought 5’5 or 5’6.
