Sure I heard the commentator say Preston/ Burnley was the biggest Derby in Lancashire.
-
Not sure what the discussion is here. Some folk said he was awful, which he was. Me included. Now we can actually see that there is more to him than was first evident.
-
I’ll keep it short because everything’s already been said. The bond between the players and fans after the game was very apparent on TV. That and the performance was quite simply brilliant. well done all of you. Superb.

Whenever I wanted to change jobs I made sure I had another one lined up before I handed in my notice. That meant asking around and even going for interviews while still in the job. Did I feel unloyal in any way? No, why should I. I knew for certain that if my present company decided they didn’t need me any more they would have made me redundant. Same with Eustace. If Rovers had decided he wasn’t up to it, they would have sacked him. It’s the real world. The thing for any company including Rovers, if you want to keep someone then do your best to keep them happy. We have downright awful owners and some folk are discussing the manager not behaving as they personally wanted him to.

Oh and that statement wasn’t an official club statement. It was a personal angry response from someone. “Significant investment” and saying “with six new additions, several of whom impressed during yesterday’s FA Cup fourth round tie against Wolves” these are no more than an individuals opinion. The club doesn’t have an opinion. Amateurish in the extreme.
-
I’m not really bothered what Eustace has allegedly said or done. It doesn’t matter. The big picture is the important thing and the direction that Rovers have been taken by these owners. It’s more than terrible. It’s turning fans against fans - and in many cases fans against a club they have given their lives to. and what’s even worse is that club statement that tells me for sure, they don’t get it. They don’t give a damn. Waggott, Pasha, Venkys you all need to move on. Go find someone who wants to bring everyone together and drive the club as far forwards as they can. Some with a bit of passion and more importantly someone with real ambition.

Significant investment. Paying the wages of 5 players to help out a very small squad from February till the end of the season. What was the option? That'll attract the best managers for sure.

Couldn’t care less.

That statement on the official site is an obvious attempt to put any problems the club might be encountering, 100% onto John Eustace. No mention of anything the club might have done or could have done better, no regrets that they couldn’t have helped him more in the transfer market. No, basically the owners and Waggott are doing a sterling job, let down only by Eustace. It really is such very poor reaction to the second manager leaving for the same reasons In twelve months. None of it the clubs fault.

Show ‘em this. Crowd of 768. and A November meeting with Scunthorpe in Division Four had drawn a crowd of 2,007, that a record low attendance for the league. https://www.lep.co.uk/news/retro-game-when-pne-played-in-front-of-a-record-low-crowd-674483

That’s what I posted yesterday Rev. IMO the court case changed everything. Venkys are tied to either covering any expenditure with the same cash in guarantees or indeed in seperate cash deposits with the courts. That could go on for years. Maybe that’s how Indian courts intentionally work. Since the court case began it appears that they have been putting in as little as they can and taking out as much as they can. That 40 million we talk about isn’t the clubs money, it’s their money. Hope I’m wrong but I suspect this is bigger than just false promises to the manager.

I can’t read the article but the comments are “interesting”. If anyone is thinking about organising protests, take these into consideration. There are still plenty of fans around who think Eustace has been backed all the way by the owners. I met one on Friday. Apparently when he’s asked for players, he’s got them.

We’ve had almost 15 years of doing the opposite TS.
-
It suggests the owners could be running it down for administration.
-
He might have said he’s looking for assurances - but I don’t think so. He knows exactly what’s what at Ewood. He also knows how JDT was let down in the same way as he has been. Is there any possible way he could believe anything that Waggott would tell him?
-
It won’t matter. Theres nothing to be gained by keeping a manager who wants to leave.
-
He wants to discuss his move to Derby that’s obvious. It’s also obvious that Derby aren’t making a blind move for him either.
-
Go on then. You could always add “assuming we need one”. 🙂

Could have been 5 or 6. We were a disorganised mess second half. First half was decent but it became embarrassingly awful. -

Lack of strength in the squad showing now -
If he’s ambitious I would advise him to move on. Ambition disappeared from these owners a number of seasons ago.
-
As an outsider who’s had nothing to do with the trust, it just appears that their aims - or reasons to exist have become a little lost. Is that fair? They achieved their initial goal to make Ewood Park an Asset of Community Value (ACV). What next? Any organisation must have a specific purpose. If they are to continue do they not need to reconsider what they stand for now?
-
The days when the manager told the club which player he wanted seem to be gone, at Ewood at least. It appears that he has no input at all and it’s left to others to go find players who might fit his requirements. Is it exactly like that at all the other clubs. Does the manager not get included in the player search at all. Does Guardiola just sit back and wait for his players to turn up? I doubt it but that seems to be what happens here. If it’s the case that rovers managers have no, or virtually no input into player recruitment then either the system is failing or Gestede and his team is failing. If players are regularly turning up who are nowhere near what the manager requires or are simply below the standard needed, then someone has to take responsibility for this. Of course that must be Waggott. He’s running the show.
