  1. RIP Lenny. An example of bravery for all of us. Top man.
  2. Excellent start to the season. Fans currently more behind a manager than I can remember. The club set up starting to resemble that of a club that has direction. Yesterday’s efforts absolutely fantastic. Nobody could have asked for what we’re currently seeing. Brilliant. Take away all that though and there’s still an awful lot to do to become true contenders IMO. We still see a lot of long diagonal balls. I don’t yet see us dominating midfield and as everybody has said the squad is nowhere near strong enough yet. Three games in and we were just filling the gaps best as we could. Any transfer business between now and the close of the window is critical.
  3. The ECB are currently undergoing a performance review, inspired by Englands dismal efforts in the last ashes defeat. Rumours are that county cricket is going to be reduced to just 10 games in a season. Some/most members just don’t see how that can possibly benefit the game and believe that the hundred is the biggest threat to county cricket. In response to criticism that the club aren’t taking members views into account, Lancs ccc organised a forum that took place before Wednesdays game against Worcs. It’s a really interesting meeting and worth listening to in my opinion. The challenges that counties and cricket in this country are spelled out quite well. It’s a long video and I watched it over two sessions. I understand more about the game now after watching this.
  4. Only if you don’t look at what happened. Last season was the first one in 5 years that promised anything at all. It came from nowhere and disappeared in the worst way possible. It does matter what actually happened.
  5. Using last season 8th place finish as evidence of improvement is pushing it a bit. In truth, turning a very unexpected promotion form into relegation form was a huge minus, not a huge plus.
  6. If I had a choice, I’d prefer that he was intense with it.
  7. Yorks vs Lancs on YouTube now. Royal London one day cup. 50 over game, yorks currently 157/7 off 29.
  8. I have a lot of respect for your missus - as you should know. Even more now.😊
  9. We stayed till the end. At the 1:30 inspection when they said they would look again at 2:30 I assumed that given no more rain (which there wasn’t), they would likely make a start. Having said that, there were huge puddles at 10:30 and the ground was surrounded by low, damp, drizzly cloud. They probably got it right. Disappointing but interesting to see Sedbergh school. Went into the Queens Hall for free coffee once or twice. Beautiful place/area but I bet they get sick of the rainy days.
  10. Only just read this. Are there any posters I can delete?
  11. I didn’t see you Gav? At Sedbergh I mean.
  12. Looks a poor team to me, especially in midfield.
  13. The price doesn’t matter does it? whether he’s good enough matters.
  14. Rhodes- movement - run? does not compute.
  15. Hope JDT was watching that. It might have opened his eyes a little.
  16. No closing down, no energy, no passion…. and you’d bring on Jordan Rhodes 😀 To do what exactly?
  17. If all we have is that starting 11 -with little back up, we’ll be relegated.
  18. and when earth dies, there will be nothing. Truly nothing. except for the stars and the planets, but no one will ever see them, no one will ever know they existed. No one will know we existed.
  19. He’ll metaphorically spit in the face of the club that found him, invested in him, nurtured him, coached him and were willing to give him his big chance. He’ll then join a bigger club who having put nothing into his development will sell him on at a later date for megamoney if he makes it and ditch him - having lost nothing- if he doesn’t. Not right is it?
  20. James Webb telescope live tracking. Absolutely fascinating.
  21. Parkinson better than Rashid? Never.
  22. I would love that to be true, I really would - but if you’re arriving at the table when everyone else has eaten, you can only have what’s left.
  23. Thanks for your contribution @Ianrally I watch these old clips with mixed emotions. The memories are fantastic but the footage? I think were these players really as good as I remember? Old film footage certainly doesn’t flatter anyone or anything. All I can think is there’s absolutely no reason why the natural skill levels of those guys shouldn’t be at least as high as it is now. The coaching, speed of the game and tactics of teams is far ahead of what it was then for sure - but skills/ability I don’t think so. Whatever BRFC is now, those memories will always live on.
