I’d gone back to the Fishwicks bus when we were 2-1 down. Coming off early was something I’ve never done - apart for some reason on that day. When the rest of the coach came back I thought they were joking when they said rovers had won. I didn’t believe them. Gutted having missed two goals. I certainly remember the snow.

I was devastated when rovers sold Byrom. Didn’t understand it then and still don’t.

I could be wrong here, but I have it in my mind that he scored something like 27 consecutive penalties, then missed one and didn’t take any more. edit just read renrags post. I bow to his stats. I thought it was more than that.

Quite a lot I think. Im not sure Watford didn’t fancy it, more that they weren’t prepared for it.

I have no problems whatsoever with tough guys on a football pitch, but I have with players just being petulant and asking for trouble. He really doesn’t need to be like that. Just a reflection on an otherwise excellent performance from him and the team.

Travis scares the hell out of me. Seemingly every game, he gets himself in needless situations where he’s risking a sending off. Unless he can control that it’s going to happen - and that will cost us all. Mainly his team mates.

Brilliant performance. Outran Watford all night with a fair amount of skill as well.

I’m not going off their results Booth. I’m going off what I’ve seen of them,. They look a class side to me. Of course it could change.

I agree completely that the idea of building a squad over a few years is beyond ridiculous. I’ve been saying that for years myself. Ill give GB and JDT a lot of leeway on this window - and the January window as well (because not much happens then anyway) simply because they were left in an almost impossible position due to the situation Venkys left the club in at the end of last season. This season is about JDT trying to implement his ways into the squad and into the club. Next season will be the season where I hope/expect? to see real progress.

Seeing that we’re in the transfer window, would any of you guys who like me saw this team, like to put a number on the value of these players at todays prices? I’ve been watching rovers for almost 60 years. I’ve seen a lot of kids coming through the ranks and breaking into the first team. I also don’t go overboard about players. I’ve always looked for weaknesses in a player, things that just might stop them getting as far as they might. I can’t think of anyone who’s impressed me more than Adam Wharton did last night. He covers the ground with ease just like Phil Jones did. He has an excellent touch. He’s supremely at ease on the ball. He knows when to play it short when necessary, when to go forwards. He has an upright stance whereby he has his head up which allows him to see everything around him. It gives him vision. I’ve seen a lot of youngsters come onto debut and thought we could have a gem here. With Adam I just think “we HAVE a gem here. I really don’t get the feeling that he’ll fade or “might” just make a top player. If I were a scout at any of the top clubs he would be my number one target. I would pay whatever it takes to get him.
