George Hirst? Why? What does he offer that we need? -

and when we don’t have control of midfield, we don’t have the option of bypassing the midfield with an early ball to a front man capable of holding the ball until others can support him. -

Absolutely. It’s about winning. Winning football is about scoring more than the opposition. Why that isn’t enjoyable beats me. These people who wanted him sacked are the ones who thought it would be easy to find a manager who could get us out-footballing Arsenal and Man Utd. 12 years ago. Who did we find? -

We should have sold Brereton and used the money to replace him with a front man who can hold the ball up, score a few goals and someone with creativity and a few goals in him, just behind. Far more balance than having the only goalscorer in the team playing out wide. -

It’s no surprise to me. We don’t even have a squad that can line up in a regular 4-4-2 formation. we’ve been pissing about for years now just bringing in anyone we could get. Didn’t matter where we could play them, whether they fit into any kind of formation we wanted to mould a side into, or how long they might stay. It’s pathetic short term thinking. -

I don’t read it like that glen. I think that’s a bit too literal. GB will no doubt recommend players, do the hard miles and do any negotiating. JDT will be aware of the situations and players being pursued and certainly wouldn’t accept anyone he didn’t want. It’s already been said he will have the final say on players. It couldn’t be any other way. -

If he won’t sign a new contract, then he wants leave. No? -

It was said that JDT would have the final say on transfers though. I can’t believe that he wouldn’t. -

I would argue that even with him staying the current squad could well be relegated. -

If we sell Diaz this window then we’ll need three more strikers in the next ten days. If we don’t sell him we’ll be throwing millions away. Please nobody mention Gallagher. If he was a striker he’d be playing there now. Its a huge mess. -
There’s talk that the county games will be reduced next season as part of the “performance review”. It really takes some understanding, that does. Where will the test cricketers come from?

We need at least two quality strikers NOW, before Brereton goes. IMO. It won’t happen. We won’t even get one. -

His project was to become one of the biggest clubs in Europe. He wasn’t looking at 5 years to get out of the old second division. -

The seasons started that’s why. How are we going to persuade other championship clubs to sell players of the standard we want - when the window closes very shortly? How? We can blame Greg Broughton or anyone else, but this situation was avoidable. Fans could see what was going to happen as the season drew to a close and THE OWNERS DID NOTHING. -

The answer is in the hands of our very rich owners. They have the power and financial clout to steer us onto a better course. -

If that’s true and it might be, nobody told JDT. If nobody told JDT, we have a problem. -

Someone mention relegation 😂 I suggest the club takes that threat seriously. We finished last season in relegation form, then saw a host of players decent players leave who we know were of championship standard, who we knew could perform in that league. Maybe they weren’t PL standard maybe they weren’t top championship level, but they weren’t out of their depth at any point. Replacements so far consist of two division one players. Continue down that route and division one football is a certainty. Not a possibility, a downright certainty. Action is vital and needed in what’s left of this window. Will there be known championship quality players available before the end of this window? I wish I thought so. Young kids on loan from PL sides who want their youngsters to get game time is the likelihood but not what we need. I know we got Harvey Elliott in who was a good signing, but we’ve had a lot of these players over the years and not too many of them make a huge difference. Alarm bells ringway very loudly for me. -
Great day at Blackpool. 742 runs in a days play. I mean, you can’t complain at that. Both Northants openers scoring one day centuries and finishing on the losing side. Jennings again with another century but just when it looked like we might fall short, in stepped 22year old George Lavelle who hit a superb 61 n.o. off just 34. lancs having a good season, even better when you think of the players missing through the franchise cricket and injuries.

The next game is all that matters, that’s what’s drummed into every footballer and rightly so. it should be exactly the same for the manager. 5 year plans my arse. -

Fans seem to be split into 1) we’re top of the league, first loss of the season. There’s a lot of overreacting going on and 2) last nights display should open manager and fans eyes to exactly where we are. Ill take option 2 every day of the week. -
