  1. Yesterday lancs said the attendance was going to be the highest ever T20 attendance outside London (apart from the final). 22000 on weren’t there? Brilliant game for sure, the crowds love this particular one, although the other T20’s at OT will probably be around the 1000 Mark? I guess lancs just have to maximise their income from this game and any tests, because the income from everything else must be pretty awful. Even so, @ £25 a ticket and £5 a pint + £1 deposit for the glass, it’s a very expensive layout for a 14 over game. I agree about the delayed start. We made our way to our seats at 7:20 and the players were out there warming up in perfect playing conditions. They should have been playing the game at that point. Anyway, a great day out, followed by an hour back at Wetherspoons and £2:25 a pint ?. Only other downside was my mate having his wallet stolen with £100 and a load of cards in it. Lancs are quite fearsome in this form of the game, long may that last.
  2. Easy win for lancs tonight. 4 T20 wins on trot and top of table. Roll on Friday. (Rain around though) ?
  3. Horrible kit. Couldn’t have got it more wrong without ditching the halves.
  4. Was he a master baker Gumboots?
  5. Ridiculous isn’t it. How are players supposed to perform consistently at test level when the itinerary is composed like it is? There’s no way the England test team can challenge to become the best test side (which would be my priority) unless they play long and hard against the best teams.
  6. There’s a lot of things that I’m not better than Chaddy. Trying to work out your post was better than I could be better than. Apart from which, your reply was for some reason in perfectly understandable English. anyway...... when you have two fast bowlers with the records of Jimmy and Broad, if they’re fully fit you play them. They’ve done it for a long time. They won’t lose their talent, only their fitness.
  7. Thanks Bob. Wasn’t someone advocating dropping a couple of them?
  8. Not seen much of the test, who’s taken the wickets?
  9. That’s Swansea then. They’re coming from everywhere. ?
  10. That car number plate was registered in Norwich in 2011. Anthony Pilkington played there, that year. scroll down. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_registration_plates_of_the_United_Kingdom
  11. It could well be that the pitches are out and out bowling pitches at this time of year Matty. They’re bound to be holding at least a bit of moisture in April. All the innings in lancs games have been low scoring so far. I’m hoping that’s the case ?
  12. Lancs ccc profits doubled. The future looks red.? http://www.lccc.co.uk/cricket/news/2018-news/lancashire-cricket-announce-92-increase-in-operating-profit-to-2-347-000/
  13. A lot of people are saying they’ve never seen so many Aussies crying since Scott and Charlene got married in neighbours. ?
  14. Just to be clear - although I’m sure everyone knows what I mean - I certainly have no sympathy for his actions or punishment. The punishment is tough in some senses, but credit to CA for hitting these guys hard. However, it’s not nice to see any individual in the mental state that he was. Surely we all would agree on that.
  15. I feel for him on a personal level, yes. Lehmann is gone as well now.
  16. Watching Smiths interview it’s clear he’s absolutely devastated. Watching a grown man crying in front of the worlds cameras isn’t nice, you have to feel for him as a person. having said that there are still unanswered questions as to whether this was an isolated incident. Unless someone else steps forward with evidence I guess we’ll never know.
  17. He’s confirmed himself on Twitter that it’s the same hamstring problem
  18. “The premier league declined to comment”! Blackpool have been well and truly shafted by these people. Weren’t the bailiffs at the club and the Oyston Home this last week or so? They’re looking to force 25m from the family I believe.
  19. How how did we lose that? I went to bed with England 200+ for 1 and loads of overs left.
  20. Close then Tyrone! Never heard of Johnny Green, even though I’ve obviously seen him.
  21. Duggie and Ronnie both played at Great Harwood if I remember correctly. So did a few other ex Rovers at the time - Paul Round for one?
  22. Oh, yes, I agree 47er. That team got relegated. But the individuals I listed - how much would those players be worth in today’s money when they were all at their peak? Anyone want to guess? What about Blackpool’s pairing of Alan Ball and Tony Green - how much would they be worth nowadays? A massive amount of money I guess? How much would the likes of England, Clayton, Newton be worth now? it was just nice to look back.
  23. Yes granted, but.......... Waiters, Armfield, Tony Green Alan Ball, Newton, Mike England, Clayton, Mike Ferguson?
  24. The funeral of Jimmy Armfield today. Yesterday I was talking to a Blackpool fan and I showed him a programme for the last Christmas Day football game ever played in England ... Blackpool v Rovers 25th Dec 1965. 3:30 KO, to allow for Xmas dinner. as a matter of interest these were the teams that day and there were some superb players on show. blackpool :- waiters, Armfield, Thomson, Turner, James, Green, Moir, Ball, Charnley, Waddell, Oates rovers :- Else, Newton, Wilson, Clayton, Mullvaney, Sharples, Darling, Jones, England, Ferguson, Harrison. a lot of talent there, yet before this game Blackpool lied 5th from bottom of the first division, while Rovers lied 3rd from bottom, eventually being relegated. Burnley sat 2nd in the league sandwiched between Liverpool at the top and Man Utd in 3rd spot.
