  1. You said his fitness depends on how hard he works, but we are talking about age and some players just have to bow out sooner than others.
  2. No doubting his past record, but 33 years old in 3 months time? Obviously the question is does he have the fitness? Doubt any of us know the answer to that so it's just a matter of wait and see. Keep in mind though that he's a midfielder and whatever league you're in, you still need to be able to get around the park. A lot of fixtures in this league as well.
  3. I think my point is that Newton, Douglas, Pickering, Clayton, Ferguson, McEvoy, Harrison, Rogers, Metcalfe, McKenzie, Fazackerley, Field, jones - etc, etc didn't need millions of academy investment behind them, they simply had the talent.
  4. There is an argument as to whether all the money spent on academies, brings through any more youngsters, or better quality youngsters than when rovers simply had the pitches at Feniscowles or even little Wembley.
  5. Egyptian Pete... All gone, we start again......... in league 1. giving an academy coach the gig because apparently "he deserved a chance", rather than advertising the vacancy or approaching other more experienced managers failed to arrest the decline either on the field or financially. It's a part of the reason why we are here.
  6. There's no way anyone at Ewood has scouted the dozens and dozens of loans we've had over the last few years.
  7. There's a lot of luck and fortune involved in bringing players in, especially loan players. The usual way with this is that managers looking for loans just ring round clubs asking if they have anyone available. Loan players aren't usually scouted or watched as permanent signings SHOULD be. Some work out, many don't, but getting players on loan is usually down to the loaning club manager, than the manager taking a player.
  8. At one time I'd have been either very happy, or not so.
  9. I'm not an expert in any of this, I'm just forwarding links to a few developments. Biddy, Glen et al know more than me.
  10. "I would also warn any person .......operating such a device that they are in breach of copyright law. National Trading Standards will continue to protect legitimate business and pursue those who breach copyright in this way."
  11. http://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/warning-over-pre-loaded-kodi-boxes-as-man-is-fined-250-000-for-selling-them/story-30191794-detail/story.html the computer shop near me won't load Kodi anymore because of the link above.
  12. I hope none of you guys is thinking of streaming the game on your Kodi box. 10 year prison sentence for using that. I can imagine going round to my mates, to find only his wife in..... hi Janet, where's Dave? oh, he's doing a ten year stretch what for? oh, he was watching North End on't telly. http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/news/digital-economy-act-kodi-stream-illegal-users-prison-10-years-sentence-copyright-data-sharing-a7716131.html
  13. Good work guys. Encouraging that at least some people are listening.
  14. I think a manager has a duty to everyone, to field a team who he believes is strong enough to win a game. That's open to interpretation of course, but the alternative is to allow managers to throw a game - or to put it another way, to concede the game. Im fairly sure that's how leagues have judged these things before and that's how Huddersfield will be judged and rightly so.
  15. You're not wrong Jim - coupled with a desire from some fans to sell any decent player they took a disliking to and replace with lads not fit to lace their boots. there are a lot of lessons to be learnt here and not just from the owners.
  16. Yeah. Only two points taken from the fixture, rather than three.
  17. Reminds me of the Crystal Palace play off penalty at Selhurst Park.
  18. When things are going your way
  19. Yes, I remember plenty of that. Anyway, we're getting back to our "natural level", which can only be good - and there's nothing anyone can do about it, so let's enjoy the future. sorry PB. I know we shouldn't argue amongst ourselves, but it's so frustrating watching what's happening to us, along with the fact that some fans then and even now, can't get wise to where we are heading. Still, I've just had a look outside and the sky hasn't fallen in yet. There, I feel much better now. So where were we?
  20. Are they the same people who were more than happy to see championship football when we were in the PL - based on the football being more exciting and us being more competitive down there?
