  1. I think it's pretty much decided there won't be fans at games next season, no?
  2. The not actually moving nearby part is always a major red flag and shouldn't be allowed in my opinion. If you're not fully in, piss off. Downing moved down and compare and contrast those 2.
  3. Ya that would make sense except for the fact Mowbray first signed him on loan and then permanently. How you explain that bit to correlate with your theory? It doesn't really add up. I bet if you asked the other players, they would also point to his attitude. I agree he is a talent, but that's half his problem. He doesn't think he has to do the hard work.
  4. Ya, Hughton great appointment and probably not massively expensive. Very underrated. He will suit them well I feel.
  5. If the next appointment was right and I would have little faith in that.
  6. Compared to the others I would argue it was. Are you forgetting that rogues gallery? My point is they can't be trusted to make logical appointments , even Mowbray was far from logical, but when you compare him to the others....
  7. I disagree back ? Maybe at the time it looked logical, but Lamberts record since show he was a worse appointment than Mowbray. I'm not saying the Mowbray appointment was logical by normal standards, I'm talking about Venky land. My point being, I wouldn't trust them to appoint someone who wouldn't relegate us. Would you??
  8. Yes, it's just as hypothetical, but it's not as likely. Mowbray is the best and most logical appointment they made in a decade and that was luck.
  9. Cos he isn't. How many more "1 more seasons" can he be here for. Surely next year has to be the year we do it under him or there is a parting of ways?
  10. Teams in this division let you have possession all day if you do little with it in their 3rd. It's literally how they set up. I have spent a lot of money on Ifollow since lockdown watching us do what you put very well "possession for the sake of it" As for the false 9 shite, that only works if you have a player who is literally head and shoulders above everyone else on the field , we don't.
  11. Ya fair enough, but it's pointless in this echo chamber. Correct me if I am wrong, but going off what some of you who live locally say, it's not the unanimous consensus? I'm not even sure I do want him to go. I would picture it playing out something like this July 31st- sacked August 10th- Players who to be fair are loyal to him(as much as that is possible these days) like Armstrong and Dack say they want to leave. Still no new manager or signings August 20th- They both leave, with possibly a couple more. Still no manager or signings August 29th- Damien Johnson is caretaker for season opener. Still no full time manager or signings Mid September- Results are going badly, Johnson resigns to focus on coaching Norther Ireland. Still no manager or signings October 1st- We appoint someone ridiculous and sign some free or cheap shit just before the window closes December 1st- We are firmly in the relegation places
  12. Ya, I know. It's just a waste of time really though and only leads to frustration. The owners aren't in touch with football, let alone the nuances of Blackburn rovers. The decisions they make are dependent on them, their businesses and whatever advice they are getting from whichever "football experts" are in their ears at any given time. What we know or think is irrelevant. At least at a lot other clubs you can kind of guess what the owners are thinking/going to do. Here the f**ckin manager doesn't even know.
  13. Ok ,I've made the decision not to discuss the manager much going forward, it's ultimately pointless. What I will say on it is it's classic Mowbray that we were more bad than good after the re-start. The top, top managers would have had the players well drilled and fit as hares coming back. Like didn't Bielsa get in trouble for getting the player together to train during lockdown? We are a low intensity outfit. I said it in another thread, but watching the Forrest game last night I was thinking "fucking hell, the best team for them to play would have been us" and that is a damning indictment. Ok, that's it on the manager from me. Just sign defenders and before October, please.
  14. Ya and going off his interview, I don't think he was begging for a move to Chelsea , maybe United or Liverpool would have been different. So ya, we probably could have kept him another season.
  15. Unfortunately the owners are oblivious to any nuance or trends with the manager. It's probably dependent on us doing very badly, Mowbray himself deciding to leave or Waggot doing so. None will happen this summer. So can I humbly suggest we all just try not to discuss the manager leaving ad naseum all summer as it's ultimately pointless. I include myself in this.
  16. What a job O'Neill has done at Stoke. I bet Forest wish they were playing us last night. Absolutely NO WAY Mowbray is getting us fired up enough to win that with nothing to play for. Would anyone disagree with that?? I expect Stoke to challenge next season
  17. Could be worse I suppose, we could support Forrest.
  18. So 10th and if Bristol score 11th. Super.
  19. Well at least that debunks my theory that we would have lost only if this game meant something to us. We just aren't very good. If I was Armstrong I would be on the blower to my agent tonight while my stock is at its highest
  20. No, not comparable to Joao Felix. Have a look at the individual awards he won under age before that season. He was an absolute prodigy. I don't think anyone is giving us £8 million for Lenihan this summer, but I hope I am wrong and you are right!
  21. Ya, you're right. I wouldn't sell any of the 5 main players we were discussing barring we received an offer we literally couldn't refuse, which I don't think we will. If we do accept anything less (or even crazy money) there is no guarantee it will be re-invested or even re-invested well. Every new signing comes with a risk. I would just let those out of contract leave(except Downing) , bring up some of the youths and add 2-3 quality defensive players.
  22. He said he needs to get better on the ball and in the final third and that is something he is working on with Damien Johnson. He also said and I paraphrase "he's a dirty bastard and I hate playing against him in 5 a side". I genuinely got the impression Dack felt he was too whole hearted with his tackling in training. I'm a huge Travis fan, to me right now he is a Championship Robbie Savage. I think he can be better though.
  23. Ha ha, me being pessimistic? Haven't gotten accused of that much! What you would be disappointed someone leaves for and what they are worth are 2 very different things. Armstrong and Dack due to the number of games played at this level and consistent delivery(more so Dack) puts them well ahead of what Travis is worth right now. This was basically his breakout season. I wish Lenihan was worth £8 million, but alas he isn't. Sheffield united signed John Egan for £4.5 million and he better than Lenihan.
