Have to say, I prefer that blue, but the sponsor will probably ruin it. Is it Bet 10 again?

Summer Transfer Window 2019
Bigdoggsteel replied to Neal's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Payne on a free would be a good deal. Young, happy to fight for his place and knows the club and the lads. Sign him up. You know if we get him in, then we spend our budget on a striker and CB, it won't be a bad window. I just wonder how things will go. Will it be moaning here up until deadline day when we sign said players, or will things just peter out leaving us short. If we don't sign a good CB, we are in for a long season. Both on the field and on here. I think Graham can do it again next season, so I would be happy with an experienced loan or even taking a chance on a guy from the lower leagues. I wouldn't be big into loaning someone from the Premier league to be honest. Although I acknowledge it worked for derby and Villa, I just don't think we can pull off those types of deals, be in financially in villas case or via Frank Lamprds ties to Chelsea. -

Can't be on the wing, but you are probably right -

While I would love to see us linked with some new ,fresh and exciting talent, I do think that Hanley and Gallagher would straighten the squad -

I never said he should start though, so why are you telling me? I said he should take Downings role, as in a squad player. It's pretty simple. Lenihan should have a new CB partner on the opening day. -
Ya, I think it is disappointing. I am not sure what he is looking for or hoping to get, but if he signs for another Championship club he won't just be walking into their team. Then you have his injury record and the whole Sunderland saga. I expected him to sign up early and knuckle down with a season under his belt. Even if he signs now I will be a bit "meh" and he will have even more to do on the pitch to show he wants to be here.

I said to fill Downings role. Downing wasn't a starter. -

How do you work out that nobody knows how good Davenport is? He played half a season at Burton and got great reviews. Some players will like Mowbray more, some would prefer Neill. That's just life. It seems that whoever we sign, you have yourself convinced that nobody else wanted them. -

Ya for sure and that's why I hope we sign better than Bauer. It seemed to me that he was seen as a replacement for Downing in the squad. If Williams is now going to fill that role, then we definitely need a left back. The CB should be someone who will improve the starting 11, ideally the left back too. Neither would be guaranteed a starting place though and that's the way it should be. -

Except when Dack signed or Davenport or Chapman or Armstrong or Brereton or Rothwell -

Lads, lads ,lads I think ye are getting bogged down on this squad player stuff. EVERY player we sign is a squad player. It is up to them to force their way into the starting 11. Nobody should be guaranteed a starting place and I don't think any player could demand it -

I think it is fair to say that Mowbray thought we would sign Bauer. However, I don't see how him not signing indicates in any way anything about our budget -
The more I think about this, the more it kind of perplexes me that he hasn't signed. Of course it is up to him to weigh up his options and that is his prerogative , but I think he owes us the respect to make his mind up a few days earlier so he could be part of the trip to Austria. He is clearly unsure if this is the place for him.

I will reserve judgement on whether he is a dud or not to this season. Whatever about that, Mowbray has met his targets full season on full season. Rightly, that is what he is being judged on. I don't get the analogy. -
Ya, takes a certain fella to attempt to pull that off. You wouldn't see too many of them over this side of the pond ? Fair play to him though, I think he pretty much did

Fair play to you for stepping up although poor chaddy never threatened to beat anyone with his keyboard or to slap them off tarmac ? -
Brereton might look a bit ridiculous there with the baseball cap in particular, but the real Dack turned up in a pink tracksuit. Don't tell @Stuart

Dack?

Ya, but you said I was "taking the piss" for suggesting we don't need anyone to shield the back 4 and then go on to name this guy and Travis as your 2, neither of which are defensive. So I just need to ask, are you taking the piss? Do you not see the irony here? -

Whiteman sits, sprays and keeps the ball moving? That's not shielding the defence though is it. His profile says he is an attacking midfielder. Have you ever seen him play?
