  1. OK well firstly they aren't out of sight, yet. Secondly, I would take going up under any circumstances. Even if we were guaranteed bottom the following year. I do admire your self preservation though. I never wanted to go up either!
  2. I think we are better than that if the players we have available were used correctly. I honestly believe that. I reckon we could get play offs. We aren't good enough definsivley to play as we do. We rely on scrapiness and luck. We should have Rodwell and Rothwell on the field. Reed in the middle. Ask teams questions. Did you ever notice that we are better chasing a lead than defending one?
  3. That's exactly what I thought. A draw is a good result, thank God. Well done lads. What we did was criminal and not very Christmassy
  4. Not necessarily true. Overall our game plan needs work. The signings need more time. However you can't blame the manager for individual errors like Raya against Brum and Williams today. So the buck doesn't totally stop with the manager when looking at it rationally. The players cannot be absolved of blame.
  5. Thank God Can anyone who understands Stuart's point please explain it to me?
  6. Ah, people are getting carried away talking about relegation. We will scrap enough to come mid table. Its actually ironic that a lot of those calling for Mowbray to be sacked , were those who said we would do well to just stay up. Now their expectations have changed. I just think it's a shame as when Dack goes, we will look at this season as a missed opportunity where we could have had a good play off push.
  7. The part highlighted is hardly true. If it was, he would have gone. I heard no mention of any other club willing to match his wages. Not when they were relegated to the championship and certainly not when they went down to league 1. Even if a club did want him. He is under no obligation to leave. You say he had a contract that should be honoured, that is the bottom line really. As for your theme today that he is somehow responsible for damaging team morale. Bit of a leap Stuart. An unsubstantiated leap. Anyway, even if he is up there in Joey Barton terms of being a jerk, it shouldn't matter a shit. We have real issues in the team. No need for straw men!
  8. Don't get you. Bain didn't offer any sweetener so it's irrelevant. As for a no relegation clause. If I had an agent, I would be hoping it was in there. Especially if I went to Sunderland. Are you saying its somehow bad to request one if the team are willing? Thank God you aren't my agent. Pepe is a world class defender who had played many seasons for real Madrid. He will have no shortage of offers. Sunderland were refusing to play Rodwell because they were paying him too much and wanted to force him out. Not comparable. Talking about Steele seeing a psychologist. If Rodwell walked away, he would need to see one.
  9. Our problem is we can't take teams who are there for the taking. If its on a plate in front us, we botch it up. These scorelines look spirited on paper. "oh we did well against Norwich, Leeds etc". They played badly and we still don't take a point. Then you have your games against Rotherham, Ipswich and Birmingham. We are an odd team. We aren't comfortable being favourites and we don't defend well enough at this level to be scrappy underdogs punching above our weight. I like Mowbray far, far far more than Kean, but I fear we could be in for a frustrating season and I have a feeling it may not be the last. This stuff about "building" and progression to competing at the top is a line Mowbray constantly uses. It confuses the team I think and its starting to confuse me. Reminds me of last season when we didn't win the league. Is Mowbray too nice to be ruthless? I swear to God if a team needed a win so as not to be relegated we would be the best team they could play. Mowbray would be too nice to beat them. How is he coming out after today's game saying he doesn't know why the strikers dropped back? Are they disobeying him because he should certainly be able to communicate with them. I'm really annoyed by the last few weeks. Just when we look to be going places, this kind of thing starts happening. It's like Bowyer all over again. I swear to christ there is a fucking anti-venkys forcefield around the top 6 in the championship. We just cannot get into it and stay there under those Jack asses.
  10. We fucking need the 3 points to take the stink off recent results.
  11. Odd that 30% of your post is about Rodwell. I don't really get what that's about. Anyway, that aside. We need a good, specialist centre half to play beside Mulgrew. Someone commanding and good in the air. We got away with 2 converted midfielders and a young goalkeeper in League 1. There is something responsible for the nervous panic that takes place when holding a lead. I suspect it is this.
  12. When we went 1-2 up I was delighted with the inevitable draw. What we managed to do makes me very annoyed.
  13. Missed opportunity. When Dack leaves we will look back on this season and say we should have spent the Brereton money on a decent centre half to partner Mulgrew.
  14. Good teams score late goals to win games or nap a draw. We are the opposite. Kamikaze Rovers fc
  15. I think it's at that stage now. I remember one gane in league 1 last season, I think Pboro at home. He gave the ball away 5 times with misplaced passes. How does a professional do that
  16. See our problem is, for every bit of skill Dack does, we have Williams, Raya and others to do something that hurts us.
  17. I was actually thinking that looked far more deliberate than Duffys. Obviously Williams wasn't, but it was just so moronic. Just kick it..... Fucking ANYWHERE else. Like anywhere. He actually did the difficult thing.
  18. Great finish. Pity his passing or shooting into the opposition goal isn't so precise.
  19. No, the momentum and buzz from last year has definitely gone. We have a slog ahead of us. I think we had a good chance this year to surprise people. However Mowbray is planning for 2022
  20. We were obviously going for a 0-0 or 0-1. It's vintage Mowbray. I see little hope of us turning things around. Going it finish 2-0 or 3-1
  21. It's bizzare when you reel off the names. Add Armstrong and Brereton to the list. That's 4 strikers who have played more games on the wing than as striker's. I don't think Nuttall has in fairness
