  1. It was very bad. Would that happened Cardiff last year, for example, you can bet your bottom dollar it wouldn't. You need some fight to get out of this league
  2. I am sure it makes a difference. Even psychologically with the player. Being on loan or signing permanently are different, where the deal is concrete in January or not. Either way, the months between summer and January would have been enough to allow him to bed in. I would be expecting him to feature more after Christmas.
  3. Raya Nyambe Downing Mulgrew Williams Reed Evans Rothwell Dack Palmer Graham
  4. Not sure, but even if he did its not the same as him turning down a transfer budget, which is what we were discussing.
  5. He didn't go on record as refusing it. Some conspiracy theorists on here posited it, without any evidence.
  6. Nonsense. If he got us promoted to the premier league his wages and reputation would go up so much his earning power would increase well beyokg what it is plodding along in the championship. He is squeezing some money out of venkys, are you telling me if they offered him more to spend he wouldnt take it?
  7. The actual headline in the LT states we are looking to sign players. So why have two posters taken from that, that we aren't going to try and sign anyone? Very odd.
  8. He loves it! Whether they can play there or not
  9. Ya, that's the odd thing. Will he be 3rd choice? We are still going to play one striker. Graham will still be first choice. Competition is good at the end of the day I suppose. Maybe Mowbray is thinking down the road we could have Brereton, Gallagher and Armstrong as our options. He is a patient man is Tony
  10. He scored 12 goals for us. A mix of different goals. I thought he looked good. I will leave it at that as the conversation will just go around in circles.
  11. Gladwin is back training in 6 weeks. Video on twitter. He has been hard at it in the gym. The guy is a tank. Hopefully he can contribute this season.
  12. Chill out man. It sounds like I hit a nerve. Shyte or not Shyte. I don't know any fans who would back against their own team Interesting that
  13. I don't get the hate from some parties for Gallagher. I thought he looked decent in a struggling team. Scored some good goals for us. I would be happy with him on loan. If we sign Chapman, he needs to be on the bench, not on loan. He would be a useful weapon to have, provided he is fit.
  14. Hopefully Mowbray is using his loan spell as a "bedding in period" and more will be expected of him once he joins permanently
  15. Hopefully we can have both!
  16. I think the same. Provided they go up. Looking good so far.
  17. Exactly. It was an outrageous thing to expect
  18. I am extremely chilled. What would suggest that I'm not? Well, when you are on boasting about buying boxes of "red" with your winnings, it comes across as blowing your trumpet and reveling in a rovers defeat to me. Anyway, as I said, each to their own. Just not for me
  19. Spoilers for those who haven't watched yet. https://www.balls.ie/football/sunderland-til-i-die-documentary-netflix-403020 The first paragraph is about the chairmans conversation with Rodwell. Unbelievable really, I've had a chat with Jack, and I said to Jack, 'Be a man, you're 26-years-of-age, go and kickstart your career. Tell me, is it about playing football or is it about money? Tell me, which is it? Jack said, 'It's about playing football.' But look around you. Look at the state the club is in. Maybe go play football somewhere else. I hope he just doesn't consider his own interests and I hope he puts Sunderland Football Club up there in his decision-making as well.
  20. Perhaps, but bragging that you are a betting guru or that it will be a joyous weekend when Rovers lose comes across a bit odd to me Each to their own I suppose
  21. Fake news. The headline specifically says that he is keen to add to the squad in January. He is right. The summer is the best time. Clubs would do well to get 1, let alone 2 players in who will impact the first squad in January. Pretty clear we have money remaining
  22. Unease is a good description. There is something causing the nervousness at the back. I don't think it's Mulgrew, more a combination of Lenihan and Raya. They are panicky, particularly Lenihan. Raya is a great shot stopper and improving every year, but I notice his assertiveness is not where I would like it to be. The best keepers are the boss of their box. He should be barking at everyone, Mulgrew included. Another recent thing I saw and didn't like was after the Birmingham penalty Gardner ran into him and jostled him, another Brum player squared up to him. Raya looked scared. You cant let the opposition get away with that. Not just Raya, but I was very disappointed not to see some of our other players straight over giving it back to the Birmingham players. We looked like wimps. All led to the tide turning in their favour. Would that kind of thing went on against Sparkys team? You can bet your bottom dollar that it wouldn't have been stood for and rightly so.
  23. I wouldn't be joyous if we lose, regardless of how much I won. I would never back against us to start with. Doesn't sit right.
  24. Finished the show last night. The chairman was a cowboy, but I think he had an impossible job. Short had no interest in the club anymore, the fans despised him and the chairman was his proxy. Incredible turn out by the fans for the last game. Amazing they bet wolves 3-0. No pressure on them and the crowd happy short was gone. Football is funny. They could not keep a lead before that. Anyone who thinks we are bad should watch this documentary. How they managed to throw games away was incredible. They would always find a way. Sunderland probably got some extra neutral fans from the show. I'm keeping an eye on them in league 1 now. Particularly as we were there last year. With the parachute money, I can totally see why someone took a chance on buying the club. Really, really enjoyed the show anyway. Are anymore currently being made I wonder?
