  1. Lenihan needs to calm down with giving pens away
  2. He's not available as he is so upset over my hatchet job in the paper
  3. Ha ha. Am I a published journalist now? That's hillarious
  4. Ha ha, no way. Is it online?
  5. It's the formation we always play. We have played it for the last year, where we have been unbeaten
  6. Lenihan and Downing centre half. That limits our ball playing our from the back that Williams, but in particular Mulgrew gives us. Not ideal, but against Daryl Murphy the two lads may be the best option. It's going to be a aerial and physical battle
  7. Thinking they will get a draw is being optimist
  8. Well if Daryl Murphy is their 1st choice striker, we can safely assume they aren't coming to play tikka takka. Let the aerial bombardment commence. It's games like this we could do with a Chris Samba. Win the aerial battle against Murphy and he has very little else going for him. One of the slowest players I have ever seen, would make Graham look like Usain Bolt.
  9. That was a harsh comment. While not as good as Friedel, Robinson definitely stands out among the keepers we have had since
  10. Blindly confident bunch, ain't they
  11. Ya, true. valid points. There definitely aren't anymore league cup games, so I wouldn't be surprised if he was in the squad. I just hope it goes smoothly and injury free
  12. Not sure why it would be stupid? It was his 1st competitive game in a year. I would completely understand if Mowbray wanted to give him more time to get up to speed
  13. A mixed bag of good and bad if ever there was one
  14. Ya true, but there will always be contact, otherwise we are looking at a sport closer to basketball. if players were punished for diving ,they would be more likely to be strong when under pressure.
  15. Our defenders should be able teleport , this is the least I expect from them.
  16. Mowbray has pretty much said it will be the same team as played against Stoke, with Mulgrew hopefully in for Williams. If he isn't fit, we could be in trouble. Lenihan and Downing would worry me. Neither great on the ball. I'm going to go for 2-0 Rovers. Dack and Graham.
  17. Exactly. I hate when I see proper old school hard players say this kind of thing. What hope does the game have of eradicating diving
  18. For those who saw this game, does Conway have a role to play in centre midfield? New Tugay??
  19. 7 out of 8? Feckin hell. Sky would love it if they went up , love it!
  20. Ya, the lines are blurred now and to be honest its one thing I hate about football. The "he should have went down" stuff. Pundits, fans all say it. It basically means that it wasn't enough contact to actually go down and get a free/penalty, but the player should have dived to give the illusion that it was. Part and parcel of the game these days. Full grown men falling over following feather like touches. I love watching hurling and rugby as well, but whenever I watch football directly after , I often turn off. I remember one game in particular , Ireland were playing Wales in the rugby and Sean O'Brien got absolutely cleaned off, got up, bang, cleaned again(George North hit him the 1st time and Warburton the 2nd time, both around 6 foot 5 and at least 20 stone). He then got up again and tried to stand so as the Irish defence didn't have any holes in it. He was clearly concussed as he was swaying from side to side, but he stayed standing til the ball went out before collapsing. After that game I turned over to the football and Chlesea were playing Arsenal. after watching 5 minutes of diving and nonsense, I turned off the TV. The contrast was embarrassing. I was actually embarrassed for the footballers for some of the stuff they were doing. I thought "are they not embarrassed if their kids see them rolling around following being touched on the back?" I suppose the money makes up for it. In fairness there is less of it in the championship and below, teams are more honest, but it seems the higher the level, the worse it gets. Some Champions league games between Spanish clubs are especially pathetic. I don't blame the refs, they have to give these calls, but the powers to be need to take this diving stuff seriously. They threaten to, but it always slips off the agenda.
  21. You said Travis and Nuttall had their loans blocked, now you are saying we aren't sure Pulis blocked Chapman from moving, yet didn't even start him in a League cup game. Why would you think I meant the summer with Ward, I clearly said Mowbray was decent letting him go in January ,so that he had time to earn a move in the summer. It was pretty clear I think. You included my comment when you were replying to Chaddy and I think you are so hell bent on disagreeing with Chaddy, that you took some of my post out of context even went as far as responding to things I didn't say!
  22. Plus a dive from Grealish and a worldy of a free kick by Hourihane
