  1. Be interesting to see if Conway starts and captains the team. In the absence of the other members of the old guard, it would seem to be the likely step. Who is the captain in the above team?
  2. No doubt he is. He did speak about game management in the post match interview as well. I suppose no good could come from publicly picking those last 15 minutes apart. Behind closed doors though I am sure everyone is aware of how lucky we got and the need to stamp it out. It's like a reverse Man u under Ferguson!
  3. Goals change games as they say. Crouch is a handful and from reading and watching highlights, it seems he asked questions of Williams and Lenihan. Sigh of relief anyway that we came away with the 3 points!
  4. Completely agree. When I put on the highlights I was eagerly anticipating seeing how the penalty was given away. Definitely reckless from Leniham, but I can imagine the adrenaline was through the roof with how the game had gone at that point. I still think that result is one we will refer back to at the end of the season. Our luck prevented us from going full kamikaze and giving up a 3 goal lead. Would have been hard to get going for the next game after that and the main discussion on here now would be the that we may be in trouble as we can't hold a lead. The way things worked out, we are now thinking about play offs. I suppose it needs to be said that Stoke have as much firepower as we will face at this level, so to win there, we would always need a bit of luck. It's just we wouldn't have thought that on 50 minutes! A lot of positives to take from the game, but we undoubtedly need to improve our game management. We have a few lads who struggle to keep their heads. On a major positive note to end though, if Dack doesn't unluckily hit the post, we could have been 4 goals up, they may have completely collapsed at that point and we could have been looking at 0-5 or 0-6. Maybe it's good that didn't happen, or we would be getting very carried away!
  5. Wasn't he at Derry city last season? The fact he hasn't gotten a loan move to league 1 or 2 this season might suggest he has a bit to go yet. Fair play to him for getting out there anyway and playing first team football
  6. It's where he played for the under 23s the other night and going off the sounds from the camp, where he will be favours for the seniors. I suppose we have enough midfielders. We need cover in a position he has played in the past. Shur what age was Mulgrew when he switched to center half?
  7. I would swap Rothwell and Armstrong. I would also play Rodwell centre half instead of Downing. Reed in midfield
  8. My god, the first header is about as much luck as you can get. The flicked follow up save was good. And then for them to miss a penalty. Lady luck was shining on us yesterday! Plus the draw at Derby. Maybe it's our year
  9. I doubt I can find it in all the posts and I'm not going to even try , but pretty sure you did. You said they had a great squad and that Mcarthy was underachieving. OK, if you said they had a good squad, do remember saying Mcarthy was underachieving?
  10. Chaddy you said on here during the summer that Ipswich have a great squad! You said Mcarthy was under achieving. I remember us having this debate
  11. Reed good, ya? Reports from twitter very positive. Sounds like he has a fair bit about him
  12. I have a strong feeling that today's result is huge, especially the bit of luck we got at the end. Letting a 3 goal lead slip is the kind of thing that really knocks a team, especially after what happened against villa. I think we would be feeling very frustrated and the team very low on confidence. Would be hard to get them up for the next game. Big, big result. You need luck somethings and by God do we deserve a bit
  13. That would explain it. When I looked on my app and saw 2-3 and penalty awarded to Stoke. My initial feeling was confusion, followed by a little bit of anger, then back to confusion. Then I saw they had missed and I was happy, but extremely nervous after the app also said 5 minutes extra time. The joys man. I wanted to see it on the highlights to see how it was won and our players reactions to A-conceding it and B-Stoke missing it. Will have to wait for the extended cut on YouTube
  14. How do the highlights not include their missed penalty??
  15. Maybe away, but I think at home when we have more of the ball, Mulgrew is crucial to how we play. I agree that the other two are harder to replace though. Dack is irreplaceable
  16. I would fancy us to beat them this season though. I think we have better footballers and I reckon we have improved more over the summer. They have battlers, but so do we. Early days yet with regards the table, we are only 2 points behind them. I reckon we will finish above them.
  17. If I checked at 0-3, I still wouldn't have been confident. I think if Dack scored the 4th there, we could have relaxed. Crazy stuff. Great 3 points regardless. A decent run coming up too. I think we are well placed. Looking forward to watching the highlights later. Mowbray has brought that joy back to me. On another note great results without Mulgrew. 4 points from Derby and Stoke away. I think Mulgrew will come back refreshed now as well.
  18. That's the thing, I think we should be higher up the league. Still going well though
  19. Saw we were 0-2 up at half time. Said I won't check now til the game is over because chances are it will be 1-2 when I check and then I will just have to keep checking. So when I clicked on at 16.47 it was 2-3 and my app told me Stoke had just won a penalty. Oh Rovers. Never boring
  20. Wallet in one I'd say. Big fat wallet from his time at city and Sunderland
  21. He has two actually. One is the rough and ready from when he was a player the other was written more recently. Sounds like you read the first one? I am meaning to read that for a while
  22. When Bentley got the hat trick, was not at old Trafford?
  23. That's interesting. I would have thought we had a good record at West ham.
  24. Wasn't it Souness who sold Dunn? That was an odd transfer for all parties
  25. Ha ha, good one The libero is very underutilised these days
