  1. Some fair points, but I think your assessment of Brereton is harsh, considering it's based off what, 30 minutes of game time? On the wing to boot. Tony made some good comment s after the game. He is a very practical manager. Practical, cautious... He will get us points over a season though where others wouldn't. His starting line up, the bad... His quickness of thought to change things, the good...
  2. I didn't even click the main game. Thanks, will no in future. Sounds like it was good for my nerves not to have seen that first half anyway!
  3. True, but we wouldn't have taken 3 points from Reading, Millwall and Ipswich. If we held on against villa the other day it would have been great. As it stands, we are still in the position where our seasons looks like it could go either way.
  4. So he played right of Dack tonight? Very different from wing back. Anyway, sounds like it worked. We need to start turning wins into draws. Not talking about tonight, but in general. Seems we either chase games or can't hold leads. We need to be consistent for as much of a game as possible
  5. I thought I saw someome say he brought Reed on right mid/inside right whatever you want to call it. I would have started Rothwell instead of conway. He probably went for Conway for his experience. Especially without Mulgrew and Bennett. I think the fact he was hauled off after 30 minutes suggests that his days are numbered. I think when Graham is rested in future Brereton needs to go in. Armstrong doesn't suit how we play and we can't expect the team to completely change how they play over night to suit him. What would even suit him though? I didn't see tonight's game, but I can imagine Armstrong when he is bad. His lack of strength is a big one. Dack is around the same size, but he is hardier and more physical than Armstrong. Defenders at this level can Marshall Armstrong easily. He's a one trick piney, just tries to kick it past the defender. He doesn't have any tricks really.
  6. Sounds like Armstrong is getting off lightly compared to say Smallwood when it comes to players being criticized about not stepping up. Take the Carlisle game out of it and he has been pretty poor. But seriously though, how the fook does Rothwell go from being our most exciting new signing, to not even being brought off the bench? We obviously dont see training, but it seems bizzare.
  7. Didn't see the game, but sounds like we were steeped. Where the heck was Mulgrew? What did people find strange about the starting line up? I notice a good few saying it, but other than Williams for Mulgrew, it's pretty much as I guessed it would be. Barring I would have played Rothwell instead of Palmer How was Armstrong upfront? Will we ever make an out and out striker out of him? How did Palmer get on? Going off the subs, it sounds like they worked, but Mowbray really doesn't care about preferred positions does he
  8. So for those saying I could watch a sky sports red button game on a laptop, I can't. Unless I am doing it wrong. I can only watch the games that are on the actual channels
  9. I think the point is that Brereton is young and British, like players Mowbray has signed already. He just happens to cost more. Now if we had have signed some Portuguese kid for £7 million, I would be getting a bit suspicious myself ...
  10. If when they get relegated, I wonder what will happen with Dyche. He stuck with them last time didn't he. I would imagine he won't the next time. I was going to insert a picture of Coyle and make a joke abut them going for him, but that joke would actually be more on us, unfortunately.
  11. It surely was, but I reckon if Raya was expecting it, he would have saved it. He was expecting a cross and was caught a step or two too far to his left and flat footed. I think in future if there is a free in a similar position, Raya will be further to his right. I don't really blame the wall, Hourihane bent it well around them. As you say though, it was a great free kick. I didn't know Hourihane had such a strike, to be honest I didn't even know he was left footed. Villa fans going crazy that he isn't starting, be hard to leave him out now...
  12. It still counts as him playing in the Championship and he did get player of the season
  13. Thanks Chaddy, but I live in Dublin It's awkward for me. I need to log into the site with the VPN turned on, otherwise it says no games are available to me. I find the Ifollow site pretty crap. The UI is shite.
  14. Not really out of character, he fits the mould of the signings Mowbray has been making, albeit with a larger price tag. No need for conspiracies lads
  15. Ya,true. Maybe I am being overly critical of Lenihan. He does indeed do what you say, meaning Mulgrew looks like the classy one on the ball the whole time. I just think there aren't many centre halves who are as good on the ball in the Championship as Mulgrew, so I suppose Lenihan would always look less classy in that regard, by comparison.
  16. Armstrong all the way I reckon. Just stuck a tenner on him for 1st goal
  17. I had my doubts about him in the Championship, but defensively he has been immense. Great in the air and reads the game really well. He is making Lenihan look like quite an ordinary center half. I had really high hopes for Lenihan this season. He is a great tackler, very aggressive and i like that, but I would describe him as a 2018 Ford Focus to Mulgrews 1970 Cadillac Deville
  18. If Mayweather and Pacman was on in my back garden, i would pull the curtains. What a load of nonsense. The only positive would be if Pacquio beats him.
