  1. Unfortunately 3 or 4 points from those games will still leave us lower mid table
  2. In your opinion what players would have improved us who moved for 2 million during the summer? There were plenty of rumours of other targets
  3. Rothwell should start with Evans for home games. We need more creativity in the side as we are far too reliant on Dack. If Dack plays badly, we won't win. We can't be in that situation. Reed is a great player, but at home at least, Palmer needs to play too. We have the perfect set up for away games, but we need to threaten teams more at home. Mowbray reminds me of myself playing football manager. Same formation and players every week as I get bored of changing it!
  4. We are a game or two out from our best performance under Mowbray against Stoke
  5. I think Rothwell would do well up against Lowe. Very well
  6. Thought Lenihan and Williams were poor yesterday, especially for their goals. The Sheffield United centre half Egan looks a good player. Reminds me of the great Kevin Moran. He cost them around 4.5 million. We could have done a lot worse than sign him.
  7. Wow. Some wild over reactions here. The guy is 19. Of course Mowbray scouted him before signing him. He is also an England under 20 international who has played over 30 championship games. You would swear he was some random young lad we plucked from non league park football the way some are talking. He hasn't even started a game yet! I do think he should have started upfront against Bournemouth though. Plus the lace thing last night was odd. I think nerves got to him. He must feel the pressure. Imagine some team spent 7 million on ye when ye were 19. Players aren't robots
  8. After the result last night at least 3 posters came on saying it. Agree with the rest. Also think Mulgrew should have started. At least he is back for Saturday. I can see us winning this game. We are dangerous after a defeat
  9. A number on here said it. I read one comment saying MCarthy and Bruce are available. I agree most are, rightly, cometely behind Mowbray
  10. Sheffield United are ahead of us in their progression. They are where they are in the league for a reason. I wouldn't be surprised to see them finish top 2. I will be surprised if they aren't in the play offs at least. I think some of our younger players learnt some lessons last night. The pressure of the big move seems to be weighing on brereton. Even the lace thing looked like nerves. Fans need to give the guy a break. He is 19 years if age and getting on his back won't do any good. We would all love if he hit the ground running, him included, but doesn't always work out like that.
  11. Hillarious how some are calling for a change of manager after last night's defeat. Give yer heads a wobble. Of course he is open to criticism, but ultimately we are a kick of a ball here or there away from being in the play offs. Very, very tight margins. We should have started with 3 at the back. Mowbray said he didn't want to show we were afaird of them, but I think his comments post game did that anyway. Need a win Saturday to go into the international break
  12. Welcome to the championship. Things didn't go to plan tonight. Very reliant on Dack delivering every game. We don't really have a huge amount of creativity
  13. We would be very, very light on strikers if we didn't have Brereton. I think it's good in a way that we don't need to rely on him yet. Give him time to settle
  14. Rumour has it this will be there new manager, a bit green , but serious potential for growth
  15. It was so cringe. Fury actually said at the end "there is no fury like Tyson fury and he meant it in a threatening way" It sounded so ridiculous
  16. Is goalscoring part of being box to box though? Roy Keane was a box to box midfielder and he used to score around 3 goals a season
  17. Jesus if villa played football like he has Ireland playing at the moment, I wouldn't blame them for wanting him out. Not easy on the eye is Martin's style. His press conferences are grim affairs too. I agree villa fans are dillusional though!
  18. Exactly, his days as a center midfielder are over. It's funny that every now and again when picking their desired team for an upcoming game, someone sticks him in there! The Championship is a step up and he has quick skillful players running at him more than last season, he just needs a bit of time. He has had some great games this season, lets not focus too much on the penalties. Mulgrew back beside him will help for a start
  19. Did Lenihan play right back last season? Don't recall that I think his love of 3 at the back thing is over stated. We very rarely if at all start games with it and the odd time switch to it mid game
  20. I can't see Lenihan being right back , or us switching to a back 3. It will be Bennett or Reed in full back. Do you not know Mowbray at this stage??
  21. I wouldn't say it's fitness. The mental aspect of knowing it happened before probably does come into it, hence why we need to eradicate it before it becomes a major pattern.
  22. Is it because we need to be better at counter attacking? When we concede, we are usually winning the game, which is a positive. It seems we struggle with getting that goal that finishes the game off
  23. Who have ye got in the UFC Saturday night?
  24. Nice side. I would be happy to see that. I would have Tomlinson on the bench though instead of us having to clone Palmer. Would prefer to see our budget spent on a center half.
