  1. I agree, but I don't think Travis is the option Mowbray will use. He hasn't gotten much game time this season, even in the cup. Very unlikely he will be thrown into the starting 11 for a league game. So that leaves the decision being which one of our centre midfielders, currently playing on the wing, but can also cover at right back, will Mowbray go for.
  2. Should be a few thank you chants for his gift against Charlton I think it was. Helped us get promoted so he did Ya, we can outfight Brentfrod, Stoke and others this season, no doubt. Going to be matched in the fighting stakes on Wednesday though. Score draw written all over it alright
  3. Hopefully we get those deals sorted quickly. 2 important players for us
  4. I hope he gets his ears reddened , but that no idiots take it too far and throw shit. Hopefully the prolonged abuse will be enough to put him off his game
  5. Going to be a really tough game. They have 2 wiley guys upfront in McGoldrick and Sharpe. Not the quickest, but both good technically and clever with the ball. It's going to be a real battle as they work hard like us. Hopefully we sneak a win. I would go with the same team as @Roversfan99. Tough call between Rodwell and Williams if Mulgrew isn't back yet
  6. If we are in the hunt for the play offs, it makes more sense to sign them for a low fee in January, as opposed to waiting til the summer. I agree that there are risks over both injury wise, but that's why we have medicals! I wouldn't have them as our main signings though, but they would nicely compliment a 5 million centre half, winger or striker Making Reed permanent would be top of the list too
  7. We could do with them both in January, for the sake of a relatively low fee, I don't see an issue in signing them
  8. Strange post. It seems some of you lose sight of reason ,just to disagree with Chaddy! Both of the players he mentioned would be good signings on relatively low cost deals as they are out of contract during the summer. Chapman hasn't played because Pulis doesn't rate him, doesn't make him a bad player. Off the bench he would be a great option to have. Bauer is injured, but if we said we would never sign a player who had an injury, our list of potential signings would be very small. We could be looking at signing both for under £750,000 combined , that would be shrewd business.
  9. Ya and having Armstrong or Palmer there will mean the full back will have less protection. I think you are under selling how much Bennett and Reed have offered in attack this season. Both have goals and assists and Bennett is constantly on the highlight reel for spraying passes around. This infatuation some fans have with us needing a "winger" is confusing me a little. Is it the pace we need? Because having Chapman for example would leave us lighter defensively and if he isn't getting his way in an attacking sense, his all round game it well below what Bennett and Reed offer. Fans definitely have rose tinted spectacles when it comes to Chapman
  10. I'm saying good ones are hard to find and that there is no point signing someone who won't improve us. Queue the "well I don't know who we should sign, I'm not a manager, scout etc post. No, you're not, but it's easy to say we should have signed X player, without backing it up with a realistic name Someone like Chapman would be handy to have, but he wouldn't give us the all round effectiveness of Bennett and Reed
  11. It's not that big a mystery. We have a good squad, finding players to improve us, in our budget is a challenge. No point signing players for the sake of it
  12. Plenty said Reed was man of the match yesterday, so he must be comfortable where he is playing. Barring the dubious penalty, we win the game and there is no issue about 8 "defensive" players playing
  13. No, 2. Evans and Smallwood. Where did you get 3?
  14. Lenihan is a good defender and I think he could play on the premiership some day, but he needs Mulgrew beside him right now. Williams and Downing are poor replacements in many, many ways for Mulgrew. Leadership, talking, reading the game, these are Mulgrew defensive strenghts. All this things seem to allow Lenihan to focus on his game better. Williams did OK there in fairness, better option than Downing. There is obviously a reason why Mowbray had pretty much frozen Downing out til yesterday. I am pretty sure he has never played in the championship. To be honest any of Lenihan, Williams or Downing would benefit from having Mulgrew beside them. Hopefully this injury is a one off and he gets back to his fitness of last season
  15. Gestede is worth more in monetary terms, due to being younger. I wouldn't have him starting ahead of Graham though.
  16. Gestede over Graham, lol
  17. Photoshop ah no, but he still dived. Nothing contact It still doesn't change the fact Dack didn't get his peno
  18. Enjoy Dack while he is here lads. Can't see him being here next season unfortunately. Still, the 20ish million will come on handy if Mogga is allowed spend it.
  19. All the refereeing nonsense aside, it's great that Armstrong scored again. 2 in 2. If he starts scoring regularly it will really help the team
  20. The referee should have been running forward to get a better view there. Lazy git
  21. Ya, but we are only 5 points off 1st!
  22. Second penalty was scandalous considering the refs view. Overall a draw seems about right. We need to turn more draws into wins though or it will be a mid table plod this season
  23. Was hoping that wouldn't come back to bite me on the ass!
  24. First game of the season. Makes Williams stupid red look even more costly. I would have started Rodwell. Form is temporary, class is permanent. Has Downing even played in the championship before?
