  1. I read that a League 2 club wanted Gladwin in January, so expect him to end up there. Hart is off to League 1 apparently, which is good. Tomlinson to League 1 too, good also. I have no idea who would take Caddis. Mowbray said he was unfit, which, unless he has a very good reason, is unacceptable. He got a generous 2 year deal here, the least he should do is keep fit. See Payne has signed for Bradford on loan? Funny how things have gone for him. Played almost 30 games in the Championship the season Huddersfield won promotion, next thing he ends up on loan at Oxford. Back in League 1 now again. How does that even happen?
  2. I said maybe he was. If he did just say it for no reason and was overheard , its bad, but there are so many factors like did the fans hear correctly and context. I really enjoyed last season and you could see that the fans and players had united for the 1st time in years. Stuff like this worries me. I just found reading fans tweets about this to be really disturbing. Social media really brings out the anger in people. Some fans clearly had little information on what may or may not have happened, their tweets were angry, personal and directed at Evans and his family. I would be embarrassed if he was forced to apologized as it would only encourage the likes of this stuff online. If it was on camera or I heard it myself , the only apology I would want from him is to actually play consistently above a 6/10 for more than 4 games per season!
  3. I actually tried a McEwans when I saw it in a bar once in Ireland. It was a really dodgy bar and it still the only time I have seen McEwans lager for sale anywhere. I think they were banned from sponsoring sports teams and events. Strange when it is probably easier to put on a bet than get a drink for the impressionable youngsters who this rule is meant to protect.
  4. It seems they are taking over. I find it strange.
  5. See the "F*** sake" bit wasn't said initially, it seems that piece has been added since others picked up on the tweet. Look 99% of fans are sound, but there can be a nasty element with all fan bases. I don't know what happened in this incident. It is always dangerous to go off something that may or may not have been heard properly. Chinese whispers. Then you have context. One person could pick something up as tongue in cheek that another person takes offence to. It's a bit much saying we all deserve an apology and that he should be sole because someone tweeted he did is a bit rich to me. If he said it without having something said to him first, he is an idiot. Even if he did though what I find the worst part of this whole thing is the mob on Twitter and some of the comments I read about him and his wife. Really nasty stuff.
  6. God I hate betting company logos. They make any jersey look cheap and tacky. I liked the Princes trust logo and if I remember correctly there was an option to buy the jersey without it? Terrible season that year, so bad memories ruin the kit. The whole thing about betting companies sponsoring sports is gone out of control. Jeff Stelling and Kammy plugging them on Sky sports all the time. It's a huge issue for people here, destroys families. It is only a matter of time before it is viewed the same as cigarette companies sponsoring Formula 1.
  7. The post you responded to here was me saying that I think we will carry out satisfactory business before the deadline. To then link that to claiming that I called passionate fans idiots is BS. Do not misquote me like that, be a man and actually play the ball. Whether my opinion matters to the likes of you is so insignificant to me, but thank you for your feedback.
  8. So do you condone it or not, you say you do ,but then say he brings it on himself, which is it? He is getting savage abuse online because someone on Twitter claims he said something. It is ridiculous. Does he have a right to be offended when fans give out about him at games? Does he deserve an apology? What about Pedersen when he got abuse? Some of you seem to think fans can do and say what they like but if a players makes a pretty harmless comment, he should apologize or be sold. That's even if he did say it in a bad context. The judge and jury have decided yes, but i wouldn't be so sure. I attend games for many sports and I have been at Rovers games. Fans are no angels and to pretend they are and deserve apologies when players respond is a modern phenomenon. The snowflake generation.
  9. An apology because someone on twitter claims he said "we are always meeting fans" or whatever the statement was. Why do you need an apology for that? Are you really that hurt?
  10. They are giving him abuse on twitter. Would you put it past some fans giving him abuse if they saw him at a petrol station after a game? Who did Evans say this to out of interest? Without knowing context and his side of the story, I disagree with the abuse he and his family are getting online. Even if he said if, I don't think it's that bad in the grand scheme of things and doesn't warrant the abuse and faux outrage online. As I said though, always two sides to a story.
  11. We don't know what the budget is yet though, so it's all speculation at this point. We won't know until the window closes
  12. @StuartThe tweets that some fans are making about him are an absolute disgrace. Calling him every name under the sun and even bringing his wife into it. Scumbags. Going off the tweets, none of them were there, they just "heard" or read some other eejit tweet it. Rovers have some low life fans going off what I see on twitter about this. So ya, defend this all you want
  13. This is rubbish. Venkys pay his wages. Just becuase Johnny Bloggs has a season ticket, it doesn't give him the right to be a nob to a player. Needs a rolliking for what exactly? Becuase some fan tweeted something unsubstaniated? This is typical rubbish now where this will lead to fans booing and turning on one of our players in a huge season. The majority won't even know why they are doing it
  14. I have as much facts as anybody else and they are all jumping to conclusions. Defend the indefinsible? Stuart, stop taking garbage. I am defining the unsubstantiated. 1 tweet started all this rubbish
  15. Our budget being low isn't becuase we "misjudged the market". Do you think if Mowbray and Waggott judged it differently venkys would hand over 30 million? The market is what it is and our budget is set. Mowbray is trying to do his best with what we have. He has gotten two promising you players in, that's an aside from completely rebuilding the team last summer. Some fans need to be realistic about the job that Mowbray has to do here.
  16. It's hardly his fault the clubs he was at were in relegation battles though. Messi would have struggled under coyle
  17. You said we shouldn't sign Gallagher because he was in 2 relegation scraps. What did you mean by that? How does that reflect badly on Gallagher?
  18. Fair play to Ward getting that move. I didn't think he would get a league 1 club, let alone a top one
  19. How is it a slight on him that he was in two relegation scraps?
  20. Not many it seems, but the jury have decided he is guilty.
  21. This stuff about Evans is nonsense. He could have said it tongue in cheek, was he smiling when he said it? The amount of fans on twitter passing judgement and second hand info on this is stupid. It seems nobody was actually there when it happened. Jesus can we just concentrate on football. Even if he did say it, who gives a shit? Are fans really that precious? I know he is a scapegoat and a figure fans don't have much time for, but seriously get over it like. I actually wouldn't be surprised if something was said to him first. A similarish situation happens with Cattermole yesterday. A fan asked "when the F are you going" he responded "soon hopefully" Sunderland fans on twitter then turning on Cattermole for the comment when the fan clearly instigated it. Some of the comments from rovers fans on twitter about the Evans non story are poisonous. Real nasty stuff. Think they are on the higher ground then. Bizzare. Are players not allowed to respond to abuse from idiot fans?
  22. I would be very happy with Armstrong and Gallagher. I think they would work well together
  23. I thought Gallagher, that moment of nativity at PNE excluded, looked pretty handy in what was a struggling team. If we were signing permanently I would be happier though. It's just not easy to sign a good striker on a permanent deal with our budget
