150th Anniversary kit/celebrations
RTM08 replied to Proudtobeblue&white's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Fair enough, I tend to pay little attention to them and suspect that shirt is a bit before my time. In any case, use the colours of the crest more, not just one of them. -
2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂

Longer than that right? I'm sure they were talking about it in April. Constant talk of action and nothing happening - has always been the Venkys MO. -
150th Anniversary kit/celebrations
RTM08 replied to Proudtobeblue&white's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
These kits are alright, but not for this season. As others have said, this shirt should have had the BwD coat of arms on, and possibly some gold trim. I'd argues green and black halves makes more sense than the two greens as well. For the home, I get that there is going to be an "anniversary" kit but a Port Vale style throwback would have been nice too. The one we have has absolutely nothing special about it. As with everything Venkys, it's minimal effort to try and extract as much money out of the core fanbase as possible without offering anything in return. -
Blackburn Rovers Women

Maybe it's just me but it's hard to consider a club "competitive" as a fan or a player if they have just chosen to be relegated. Who would want to be part of a team that could never be promoted because they don't want to invest in success? -
It was the same at Barca, they were much better to watch after he went because they became so much more explosive, He's been successful with vast riches but he's changed football for the worse to be sure.

Fantastic! Guardiola is a horrible loser and seeing proper fans get to celebrate will always be a plus.
-
Wasn't he pointing out the head injury? Anyway, for me any rivalry with Palace is so long ago that a large majority of fans for both teams will have no idea about it. I'll take any club beating one of the the Sky 6 (obvious exceptions aside), especially one with a Rover in the starting 11. So far so good but there's a long way to go.

Blackburn Rovers Women
RTM08 replied to Proudtobeblue&white's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I thought the owners can put in whatever money they wanted and there was no issues? If so, the women's team should be easy enough to maintain. Of course, that was nonsense soundbites to appease sycophants and the ignorant. -
Whatever your thoughts on Dolan, it's yet another example of the "inject young players and sell on for a profit" model that Rudy mentioned that just fails to make any sense at any level. Either tie them down or sell them on, stop letting players go for free!

It's nice that we're basically giving him the option to get a number of them for free or as little as possible. Amazing forward planning by the board. -
If there's anything as likely as Rovers losing to relegation contenders it's them turning up after all hope of actually achieving something is actually gone. That said, much improved today!

I'll never be disappointed that we've won a game and am pleased with the win, but I'm not going to pretend that anything has changed like others seem to think, especially considering the wider picture. We play like that against most of the clubs in the leagues and we're coming away with nothing, and its likely next season the squad is even worse. You've answered your own question. -

RTM08 replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
We beat a poor Luton team, and did basically nothing of note all game. Yeah, they obviously had the man advantage for a little while but this was still a relegation level performance against a team that look like they might struggle even in League One. I'm not buying into the narrative I keep seeing on social media that this is some kind of miracle turnaround following the Sheff Weds second half. -

Glad for the win but no need to get carried away. We scraped our way past the worst side in the division and are still showing me nothing to suggest Ismael is a good choice for manager. -

Ohashi is leagues better than Gueye and we missed him a lot. Still think that he shouldn't be starting in a team with ambition, but certainly a valuable squad player. -

Anyone who doesn't have hamstrings made of Weetabix is an improvement on JRC at this point unfortunately. -

You know full well the fact we came back from 2 down has given Ismael at least another 6 months in the job though. -

We'd still lose against nine so I wouldn't worry too much. -

It's a good job we played Burnley in January before JE left because the result with this lot would make that JDT Turf Moor performance look like a miracle. -

I've heard so much about how well training is going and how VI is putting his touch on the squad. If that's the case wtf is he teaching them because we are utterly incapable of any basic fundamental of football, attacking or defending. -

You say that but it would be their perfect excuse for them not to invest anything (not that they will anyway). -

RTM08 replied to Proudtobeblue&white's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Glad I went out last night and didn't bother with the game, because we are oh so predictable. At any other club Ismael and Gestede especially would be sacked this weekend. Neither of them are capable of their roles and I cannot imagine what on earth they saw from Ismael's demeanour and attitude that made him think "yes, this is the perfect manager for a team of lower league misfits who are performing on the vibes of team spirit". He is literally the exact opposite of the criteria I'd have been looking for to finish the season. -

Head says we'll get another pasting and do nothing, but history tells us that once the pressure is off and we write the table off the players learn how to play. That said, I don't see it under Ismael because he's absolutely clueless. Rovers 0-2 Boro, Rovers to have 2 shots all game. -
11 points behind us as it stands. Highly unlikely but knowing us under Venkys I wouldn't put it past them to finish above us at the rate both teams are going.
