2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂
Roverthechimp replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
So Pears played a preseason friendly for U21 - does that actually count as a "competitive match" (legally)? (yes tinfoil hat on - too many weird situations at our club regarding so called injuries during the last 15 years) -

Do you remember which game? Can't find his name anywhere on the teamsheets (from other sources - obviously our own site doesn't seem to bother...) -

Pears to stay is about the biggest headline in my prediction Has he played at all for U23 or U21? Wonder if there may be an insurance case going on? (Also suspect that he is on more money than he should be…) -

4 year contract might also factor in - even on same/similar money... -

Agree with you: not unusual that a club would agree a fee only for a player to move elsewhere (usually for more money for both). More curious as to whether there has actually been any agreement reached with Derby or if our local newspaper (and possibly our manager) have been sold a fairy story... -

Have we actually accepted a bid from Derby or was that the local rag jumping the gun? (it would be an interesting tribunals case if the fee was agreed, the player wanted the move but then Rovers tried to back out... Wonder if Venkys would take Suhail to court for exceeding his authority...) -

My first thought was "VAR would have ruled that one out"... -

Genuine question: would anyone (including Saudis) actually pay money for Buckley? I'm more worried that we will have to pay him off just to get rid... Leonard: was expecting clinical finishing when he got a few chances but was underwhelmed. Throw in the injuries and our current manager's preferences for "physical players" then he really does need to get out of Rovers to have any chance of a career. Do wonder if there may also be a contract related issue (eg if he plays it triggers a pre-agreed increase that we are desperate to avoid for someone that we don't actually believe has a future here anymore) -

Could we make it a game where for each ”verse” we add a name…? You don’t know what you’re doing Val You don’t know what you’re doing Val, Rudy You don’t know what you’re doing Val, Rudy, Pasha And so on. Might be a long list by the end… -

The appropriate time being after said players have moved and the NDAs kick in to max effect preventing anything but the party line being presented… Not unusual in football but for it to be done so amateurishly is not normal -

So - 3 legends, 1 ex player, 1 ex academy graduate who turned out not bad and Tony Mowbray Fuck me - why not give one to Myles while we are at it for ”that tackle” 🤬 -

Look what happens to the few that did speak up… NDAs are not only enforced legally they are backed and enforced by the entire football and sportsmedia industry -

What is the situation with Leonard? Val doesn’t fancy him or are we nursing him to (hopefully) fitness after all the injuries. Someone mentioned non-football related issue which typically means money (ie clauses in contract) -

Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
Roverthechimp replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
For all we know he may have tried resigning already and been told that his release clause is x Wouldn’t be the first one If not: he needs to either step up and work with what he has or quit (or at least make it known that he wants to quit) as he clearly isn’t happy and the team look lost -
How was the question phrased to Pasha? In answer to a direct ”has Lowe left the club” then Pasha would appear to have been being truthful without explicitly denying that something is going on. What sounds like a clueless answer might actually have been smart from him… Makes him appear dense but less controversial/revealing than ”he’s been kicked out by one faction but has appealed to the other mob to keep him on” 🤔

Why Leonard? Clauses that will raise his wages if he ever plays or just not fancied by the new set up? -
v WBA (a) - 9/8/2025 - The Big Kick-Off!
Roverthechimp replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Long throw WBA = panic and a goal Long throws Rovers = dealt with by their defence Thought Ohashi dived but in the modern game they are usually given. Can’t see us scoring many and Hyam can’t lead a defence so clean sheets will be few - this could be a tough season. -
This plus the idiots spend the allocated amount. If it doesn’t increase year on year then it is considered a saving/success. My suspicion is the lower wages to players means more to someone else but even then a static wage bill över 10 years means a real world cut (football not actual reality) of about 30-40%

For me standard procedure for consultation meetings is that a secretary is appointed to write the minutes and a number of people appointed to “ratify/adjust” them prior to signing/publication. Dependent on the number of attendees and organizations represented then the number varies between 2 - 6. It is fairly normal for some attendees to feel that certain things were missed IF the meeting was not following a precirculated agenda. I have also experienced a situation where minutes could not be agreed. In that instance it was agreed that each representative was free to brief their organization and members whilst the minutes simply confirmed that discussions took place without consensus being found on formulating the results/answers. In instances where disagreements/confrontations took place then it was commonplace to use the euphemism “lively debate” It has usually been the phrase “was not able to provide an answer that satisfied the participants” that has been used to highlight the source of the issues without giving them the option of questioning the quotes.

I think the confusion comes from the fact that a first set of minutes appears to have been accepted by the FF prior to Glen’s intervention. A little clarity on that aspect would be a good thing as currently it is not clear to myself and probably others as to the chain of events leading to the situation where the FF sent a 2nd set of minutes to the club after GM raised the issue
