  1. Slightly different meaning if his wife talks about “getting stoned tomorrow” 😳
  2. Gallagher winning a near post defensive header really highlighted that. Stuck out like a sore thumb in comparison to what had gone before
  3. If true that Rangers pulled out at short notice then I wonder if we played the game partly to give returning players a run out but also for a fee for playing the match? We seem that desperate for cash and SW would be unlikely to say no…
  4. Usually yes and then eventually disproved or categorically denied by the club (as with Morton). That is what stuck in my mind but it could just be my memory playing tricks and is just a post in here without basis in fact
  5. That is what I am trying to remember - if it was GB, JDT or someone else (Waggot??). I remember similar claims regarding Morton were dismissed as incorrect - which is why I was surprised until our true financial position became evident
  6. Wasn’t it confirmed that Moran and Hill agreements included gaurantees of gametime? Not sure if it was literal or that there were severe financial penalties if they didn’t play…
  7. Me being lazy but does anyone have the (rough) figures for each year regarding Venky’s contribution to make up the shortfall? (Feels like it has been 20m regardless during the last 10 years…)
  8. Actually could see the potential and logic IF he was 20-21 but at 24 he should be further on to justify a fee. Also to be fair - he has the Marx brothers defending in front of him and (yes I know it is bollox but…) statistically was way ahead of Pears prior to the weekend. All that said - right now we need Pears to come in and Wahlstedt to work hard in training and maybe level up muscle wise…
  9. I suspect this is part of why Ennis must be loaned out and soon - easier to then argue that Gallagher is needed (numbers wise - ability is judged to be of secondary importance by our leadership)
  10. I think this is why Travis was shown the door - Buckley returning nothing to do with football - purely wagewise
  11. From a distance the current supporter discontent is more about recent results and our head coach not “parking the (presumably leased) bus” despite the bloody obvious lack of players capable of doing that and a point blank refusal from his bosses to recruit such players… For whatever reason - even when he was grossly overachieving - many see JDT as a bigger problem than our bent owners, dumbed down operations and a CEO/leadership that does not want success on the pitch. Mindblowing 🤯
  12. Agents (like players) can negotiate a bigger fee if there is no transfer fee involved… The only loser is the “selling” club
  13. My wife suggested we could turn it round when Garrett scored - I told her that WBA would start trying again and score a 4th… Didn’t have to wait long to hear the sweetest words in marriage - “you were right” 🥳
  14. Any defenders on the bench? Losing every ball in our own box
  15. On tv here so guaranteed loss. Only question is if it will be a depressing 3-0 or gut wrenching 2-1 with a late winner for Brom from a corner…
  16. If it is what it takes to keep him happy and “in the zone” then it would not be unique and it is JDTs call to keep him playing the best football of his career. (btw - I would have subbed him but man management in the modern game is not as easy as it was)
  17. Suspect that SS has an agreement not to be subbed unless injured
  18. Honestly think JDT is limited to “I would like” when it comes to transfers - as is often the case with a DOF model. The difference is usually the DOF is tasked with finding the best players for those positions (or improves the team/squad). Usually the board/owners have a genuine desire to get the best available within an overall financial framework - balancing increased revenue based on results against future resale value and wages of players. Our owners seem to only focus on one criteria despite having pissed away millions by seemingly only being interested on a minimum ROI otherwise fuck it - let them leave for nothing. Bizarre
  19. Managed decline is a phrase that has stuck in my mind. Part of me wonders if this sudden change wasn’t planned all along - why wait until 6pm if the decision is made?? Get the tickets moving asap Unless the goal is to keep the crowd number “manageable” (cost wise) - screw revenue as that seems totally unimportant…
  20. People who tell the truth in football tend to have very short careers in modern times…
