Brentford (A) - 12:30pm KO (Sat 22nd Feb 2020)
Mike E replied to a topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Really impressed with us today. Good draw, even from 2-0 up imo. I'd be more concerned if I were a Brentford fan that we were in that position in the first place. -
Match 1 (European Title): Zack Sabre Jr vs Will Osprey vs Richochet. Match 2 (Elimination Tag): 4 Horsewomen of WWE (Flair, Banks, Lynch, Bayley) vs 4 Horsewomen of MMA (Rousey, Bazsler, Shafir, Duke). Match 3 (US title Ladder Match): Eddie Guerrero vs Rey Mysterio vs Angel Garza vs Andrade. Match 4 (Tag Title TLC): Dudleyz vs Hardyz vs E&C vs Lucha Bros. Match 5 (Dark Souls match, HIAC): Undertaker vs Sting vs Mankind vs Fiend Match 6 (Big Beefy Boy match): Strowman vs Keith Lee vs Lesnar Match 7 (Intercontinental title, Submission Elimination): Benoit vs Bret Hart vs Angle vs Jericho. Match 8 (Exhibition match): Shawn Michaels vs Ric Flair vs Ricky Steamboat vs Daniel Bryan. Match 9 (WWE Title): The Rock vs Stone Cold vs John Cena There are too many and too few all at once! Not even sure I'm happy with that card.

Suicide is usually incredibly selfless in it's intention. Obviously, someone contemplating suicide isn't thinking straight, but having spoken to people who come within a hair's breadth, they usually believe sacrificing themselves will improve the lives of their loved ones. It's not usually viewed as an escape from debt or criticism or whatever. It's usually 'everyone wants me to die, maybe I should'.

Bugger me, I only went into the kitchen to make my tea, where did 3-0 come from???
-
I don't even know what the question is if they're the answers!

Only watched this half so far. Christ we're boring.

No we haven't, it was one hour!

They should rename it after him, and then sponsors can still be used. '... are proud Sponsors of the Tony Parkes Riverside Stand'. PNE do it. https://www.google.com/search?q=sir+tom+finney+stand+outside&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwjppunBusTnAhWXwoUKHUvbAqcQ2-cCegQIABAC&oq=sir+tom+finney+stand+outside&gs_l=mobile-gws-wiz-img.3...2264.5242..5523...1.0..0.173.891.6j3......0....1.........0i30j0i24j33i10j30i10.4F0qK5ndcps&ei=Mvk_XunFPJeFlwTLtou4Cg&bih=782&biw=412&client=ms-android-ee-uk-revc&prmd=imsvn&safe=strict#imgrc=YoQKKCqiaJcrmM&imgdii=AN-o5a6pVIZTFM

Finally caught up on AEW. That lashing segment was very uncomfortable and had me squirming, but holy moly what a fantastic bit of storytelling. I always knew Cody was talented, but he'd never be allowed to be that good in WWE. Although admittedly it must be easier to act hurt when you're being actually physically lashed...

As Herbie said, tough man to please! And he idolised Dougie in particular.
-
FWIW, my Dad tells me that in his opinion, 'Mr. Blackburn Rovers' is reserved only for those who completely commit themselves to, and sacrifice for, the club: Jack Walker Bob Crompton Tony Parkes I asked about Dougie and Clayton: 'Wonderful players, but no not quite.'

No I wouldn't at all because he isn't a board member, which is the point of consultation. It's about the owners and the board. Tony (and I'm not a 'Tony Out' guy, I think he's great) is a distraction wheeled out to keep fans happy. The consultation meetings should be comprised of us holding the board to account, even having very uncomfortable conversations. I've been to these before and only the first one (threat of legal action from Coar, wasn't there?) was the only one that provoked a response from the board. The 2nd one where Cheston got thrown in as the fall guy for the Coyle fiasco was uncomfortable BUT was exactly the purpose of the meeting.

Rather than all the January BS, has anything been said about ownership? Finances? Commerciality? Tony Parkes? Y'know, the actual agenda? We should reject Tony (or any manager) being part of these meetings, that's not what they should be! Should be board members and relevant members of staff. It's NOTHING to do with the playing side.

Good job he's (I think) going in the HOF this year. I'd love it if they tried it in with naming the Riverside after him. Nobody deserves that recognition like Tony does. Mr. Blackburn Rovers

I think that's a touch harsh on Gallagher and Williams, and I'd be happy with Johnson and Chapman as bench options, but otherwise I agree. The players I'm highlighting are at least good enough for our bench if we can bring in players to take their 1st team spots. -

David Goodwillie did this trick. The legs went faster but he stayed the same speed. Derived from the old 'Scott Dann trick', where you jump but get shorter. -

It's pretty standard in such deals, but usually redundant. Remember most loans are to the benefit of the player (be it game time, fall-out, shop window, or development) for the same wage. -

On a whim, and only a whim, I'm thinking Ibe on loan, view to signing in Summer after his contract's up. -
Nicholas Parsons has died now, aged 96. I shall offer my condolences without hesitation. Or indeed repetition or deviation.
